let me explain my reasoning. Ill take back the mlb 08 does not "suck", but at the same time I believe that there are certain aspects of the show that I do not like. The "pitching meter" is something I find to be non-innovative and overused. In addition, the hitting needs an extra dimension added to it. Pressing "x"(on PS3) or whatever is not challenging enough for experienced gamers. I appologize for my rashness in saying it sucked, but it is certainly not up to snuff

turn the difficulty up... When the difficulty is up you have to do more than just hit "x" to hit the ball. You have to move the left stick to the position of the ball. The meter is also good because you can pick where you want your release point to be, and how hard you want to throw the ball. It is actually very realistic. I personally think 08 has little room for improvement. Maybe small things here and there but overall it is a top notch game in all aspects.

OK, let me respond. Pitching: true the meter is the same as its been, but if it works why change it? They could change it to a circle over the plate but it then becomes an obstruction on your screen. When you say innovative, I assume you are talking about controls rather than display, right? Either way, yes 2K was innovative with TCP controls, but implementaion was poor so it didnt improve the game. The controls are fun, but they dont offer more of a challenge IMO - they are not hard to grasp.

Hitting: look at 6:55 in the vid, I turned on plate coverage so u can see how the left analog works along w/ the button. Its not as simple as just pressing the button. 2K is more timing based, no bat control other than "batter's eye" which is basically a guess. You have no control over the bat after the pitch. So I would say that needs another dimension. Having played 2K8 (yes I rented), hitting on The Show is much more realistic/challenging, especially when it comes to pitch ID and bat control.

in this game, all day games in toronto have the roof open and the night games always have the roof closed. i'm also a jays fan and i dislike that the roof is closed for night games in say the middle of july. so they do have the roof open or closed, it just depends on what time of day it is
