  • @Inclousid I understand that you fervently believe that I am an irrational second grader who argues exclusively using logical fallacies and needs to grow up, but if being rational is developing weapons and then developing medicine, I'll stick with irrationality. I have already responded to your comment, but I would like to know if that second part is directed towards me or @ShadowReubenKee, because not once did I even use the word, "contradictory," and you responded quite disrespectfully.

  • @Inclousid "I do reject religion, whole heartedly." "I do not reject it, I simply find it irrelevant to the legitimately important disciplines." <- YOU said this. -.-! It is contradictory. Do you reject it or not? - I on the one hand do reject it, totally and completely, whereas on the other hand... I DO THE SAME! :D I TOTALLY and com-fucking-pletely reject it.

  • What a lame act. I am an atheist and this doesnt offend me in the least. But if youre going to make an act out of taking the piss out of the Bible (like shooting fish in a barrel) at least try to make the gags funny.

  • Which DVD is this from???

  • I don't care about your interpretation of quran, but what it actually says. Kill infidels, kill for betray, death penalty for changing religion. In old days killing people when they dont join islam. It's all wouldn't happen if people knew that it was written by dumb people, whose knowledge was 100 times smaller than yours. Chill out and show part of the quran that says "dont kill infidels", "no death penalty for changing religion". If u can't, u can as well say me about Smurfs. I don't care.

  • its obviously just a joke- he didnt mean anything mean- im a thiest and even i found this funny

  • @crazyrabbitbob

You find it funny people mocking your pathetic religion. How retarded is that.

  • @juddylovespizza no.1 im not retarded. no.2 my religion is not pathetic. no.3 i cant believe that the only interesting thing you can find to do is insult people- GET A LIFE!

  • @crazyrabbitbob

This is how deluded you are. You cannot admit that Ricky is mocking your religion, when he clearly is! That fits nicely into the definition of a retard.

  • @juddylovespizza still cant find anything good to do?

  • @crazyrabbitbob

Seems like you can't ether my friend..

  • @juddylovespizza ha you're the retarded one... it's spelt EITHER duh!

  • @crazyrabbitbob Ooo nice one there, missed the "i" easy mistake to make. Thanks for pointing that out for me.

  • @juddylovespizza i think we should stop bitching on each other- it wont help anything

  • Me personally I do believe in some sort of spiritual being, I don't know if it's god or not but I don't believe in the bible I can't be so blind to believe in a holy book that has incest, rape and infantcide in it, the book is riddled with contridictions and ridiculus rules such as you shouldn't eat shellfish and you should beat you kids if they disobey you, oh and virgins give birth apparently without having their hymen broken.

  • Fellow atheists.. Don't even bother arguing with religious people. They have a huge 'blind spot' when it comes to rationality.

I had two weeks of arguing with some fundamentalists on Facebook, and it turned out to be a serious waste of my time too.

    Just enjoy the video..

  • @Toadonatwig well, religious people aren't biologically different from normal people, so there must be hope.

I personally think it's just the fear of death in them, which is very understandable

  • There is no god humans need to feel good about being dickHeads all week than go to church so you pray forgiveness so you can be r same dick next week why not just be a good human and not pray?

  • I'm Muslim and I love this.

  • @ibeulahim but u think that what he says is true or not?

  • @kamkaj19 Absolutely, everything in the Bible has been edited and translated wrong and Christians are dumb enough to believe it as the truth.

  • @ibeulahim The same with quran, I'm sure. There is god that made world too in quran. That's enough to know that it's the same dumb. But peace;p

  • @kamkaj19 Yeah, but it's more logical than it taking 7 days and going to sleep since the big bang is a factor in creation in the quran.

  • @ibeulahim No one said that big bang theory is true. I'ts just theory, that requires proving. And there is no religion in it. Pure science. But u think that killing people and killing yourself can be rewarded and u'll get that virgins. This is dangerous and not at all logical. If there was sucha comedian in arab world he would be killed sooner or later. But I'm glad u can see that unbelievable beliefs at least in christianity. There is time for yours now. Take care

  • @kamkaj19 Theory in science is about as proven as something gets, when it's not supported by mountains of evidence with zero contradictions it's called a hypothesis. Saying "just a theory" simply shows you should keep your mouth shut on subjects related to it.

  • @rv186rs You're perhaps right. I dont really know much about it. But I'm sure of the rest what I said.

  • @kamkaj19 Well at least one part of the rest is BS as well, no part of Mainstream Islam says you get virgins for killing yourself(or others). It's just putting "words in mouth" of hundreds of millions of people because of a very small number. It's like saying that because medieval Popes said that anyone who kills a nonbeliever gets all his sins forgiven and is guarantied a place in heaven that must mean all Catholics believe this today and hence they are dangerous people..

  • @kamkaj19 You don't get virgins if you kill people... Nobody gets virgins. That was a claim made by the media. Killing yourself is also, the worst sin imaginable. It's unforgiven. Anyone who is a suicide bomber goes against Islam. Suicide is against Islam as is bombing.

But yeah, any way. Big bang technically is already proven being that the images of the universe seconds after it are already out.

  • @ibeulahim I'm glad that u get the quran the way u get. And I would be very glad if this was a case for everyone. But these poeple who blow out themselves just read the quran with no interpretation of it. Just like the people in dark ages has written it. It's good that there are people like u and most of the muslims that can not take the contents of quran seriously. Maybe someday u'll all just abandon that book. And there will be no risk of blowing out at all.

  • @kamkaj19 People who blow themselves up are less than 2 percent of the world population, and they don't read the Qur'an. They were raised too poor to have these things so they learn from elders and the elders were bitter and violent. The book actually tells you over 50 times to not kill anyone unless you are at war with them, and if you are at war you are ONLY allowed to kill men that attack you FIRST. No women, children, elderly, or anyone innocent.

    Technically suicide bombers aren't Muslim.

  • @ibeulahim woow. Here we go. 2% percent of pop. is 140 000 000 000. I think it didnt got so bad. But even if there was 10 people who blew themselves up motivated by book written by people. It should be enough to u to work out that these words ain't written by god. Besides. Believing in islam, u think that for example my gran who always was christian will go to hell to suffer forever. If now ur saying that it isnt true. I suggest u to actually read this bullshit. Peace

  • @kamkaj19 And your gran believes that the Muslims will go to hell as well, so what is the point?

  • @casciatod The point is that they both claim to be right sending people to hell. It prooves that both "gods" are not compassionate and caring of people and they supposed to be, as these books claim. And that prooves, that these gods are contadictory, Which prooves that they're not right. That suggest that they may not exist. Sorry for my English

  • @kamkaj19 You have absolutely no idea what me and @Inclousid are arguing about, you do not know, "what the point is," and you have a middle schooler's understanding of theology.

  • @casciatod Sorry mister educated ;D. I knew u wouldn't find any arguments. Next time when u don't have anything to say, just don't. BTW Don't get so emotional, just talk to ur imaginary friend and u'll feel better.

  • If you actually go deep into science, vacuums don't actually exist! What now?

  • @ComedicGaming1 The distance between two particels are called vacuum... Are you religious or stupid?

  • @ComedicGaming1 Who is talking about a "God". Sure if you want to call vacuum, God, go ahead. God is a fictional character made to make the stories with brilliant morals, stick together. God is an image of love and peace and forgivenes (what I know of protestant).

  • Why can't people just enjoy the video and laugh, everything has to become a fight. Come on people, really...

  • @inlight001 "if god made me, why did he make me an atheist" ~ Ricky Gervais

  • Love him

  • Comment removed

  • bit inaccurate like the half-god stuff

  • Haha, I was the same with my R.E. Teacher.

  • I agree with Ricky...the story of god is precisely just that...A STORY!

  • @inlight001 you fucking idiot

  • its kinda like the adult santa claus

  • If I have offended any religious users, I am sorry, this was not meant for ridiculing and putting sh*t on God or religion.

    -Sorry fullofletters

  • @fullofletters Don't worry, there aren't any Christians on the internet. They don't believe in Science..

  • @fullofletters Why are you apologizing? It's not even your words! And besides, it's true. you shouldn't have to apologize for anything. Stay strong.

  • @fullofletters if you offended religious people.....so fucking what?

  • @KyaniDave i feel sorry for you for not having morals

  • @fullofletters Jesus H Christ don't apologise!

  • @fullofletters i'm christian and i'm not offended, lol. you don't have to worry about some dick whinning idiots.

  • Dear People, Ricky Gervais is a comedian. Give it a rest with all the God bothering business! Sure God could be real, but he could also be fake. We'll never know. So just laugh at something you find funny, because lets face it, if we laugh, everyone feels better!

  • i love this guy, although a vacuum isnt empty, hes still a LEGEND

  • Thought most of video was funny. Most christians also use their brain. FYI - Big bang theory was first introduced by a catholic priest. Before pagans believed universe always existed.Look it up. Video piracy is shown in bible- dont steal, part of Commandments. Because of poverty & suffering in world doesn't prove no God. It just proves humanity is weak, has free will, sinful nature, in need of savior Jesus.

  • @inlight001 Okay so you just said we have free will right? Then why is it stated that god predetermines everything and all of history was planned before it happened and that nothing is done against what god has set it, in other words everything happened because god made it so. That basically means according to religion people have no free will.

  • @Airman32292 God is all knowing & all powerful. He gives people the gift of free will. God loves all people his creation but cannot force them to love Him & walk in charity. God makes known the mystery of His will. That we should come to know Him through Jesus and become children of peace & love invited to eternal paradise.

Sacred Heart of Jesus save us. Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us

  • @inlight001 but see you just avoided my point, god has supposedly pre-determined everything and made us who we are long before we are ever born, again if that is true then we have no free will, and why would he chose to create someone who did not believe in him, when he wants people to believe and worship him

  • @Airman32292 God alone initiates salvation. He always turns toward man first and seeks him, as when God walked in the Garden(Gen. 3:8).Man does not seek God or turn to him without God first calling man to Himself (Jn. 6:37, 44;1 Jn.4). Second,God’s initiative does not exclude man’s free response, but demands it. GOD WILLS THAT MAN BE FREE TO CHOOSE HIS GRACE OR REJECT IT. Third, salvation is extended to each and every human person, not limited to just some, and one can fall away from grace

  • @Airman32292 Am clear now u mean predestination. God gives us the gift of salvation through grace and faith. In turn, we must use our free will to persevere in good works “prepared beforehand” by God Himself (Eph. 2:8-10; cf. Phil. 2:12, 13).

  • @inlight001 If he was so all Knowing and all powerful, why could not he "force them to love Him and walk in charity'"? Is not that what he wanted and put so much effort tried to do? He had done plenty of damages"causing flood and all" why not do one more, turn everyone into Christian

  • @keirenle God force us to love Him? Alot of people dont like being forced to do something including me.GOD WILLS THAT PEOPLE BE FREE TO CHOOSE HIS GRACE OR REJECT IT.-Alot of people dont know but should remember regularly:When we do God's will we find True Freedom & Peace.Worldly gains & passions only bring temporary pleasure but not True enduring Peace & Joy. Also,If we accept God & His ways we avoid the pains of hell & inherit eternal salvation.God Loves U All,pray regularly,Persevere to end.

  • @inlight001 Why is there always so many randomly placed capital letters in such comments?

  • @inlight001 Well He/She /It did not seem to mind when he flood the whole planet( according to his "memoir") and kill everyone and everything living things on earth so why would he mind now about other free will. PS: I don't like to be force to do anything, glad you felt the same, for that my natural choice is not to follow any form of religions. What is the worst that he could do beside send me to hell?

  • @inlight001 Not trying to start a fight cause honestly I don't care ether way, but that argument wouldn't work with Atheists, Atheists believe there is nothing after you die. You're just dead. So technically those worldly gains would bring enduring peace for their lifetime. Just saying..

  • @inlight001 pray regularly and do god's will and that is true freedom lolololol change god to any nonfiction person ever and see how silly that sounds, god is a dictator apparently lol youre right, god doesnt force people to love him, its all the fanatic followers chasin easter bunnies and tooth fairies who arent happy enough to believe an old book, they gotta try to make up other peoples minds for them too, and even if they believe you try to get them to your church. alms for the tax exempt!!

  • @inlight001 'Video piracy is shown in bible- dont steal' What? LOL are you serious? Stealing covers a large area of things my friend, so your 'bible' didn't show anything. Your 'holy book' is as broad as it can be.

  • @cfc19900 Yes stealing covers a large area. It is never right to steal, anything, including video piracy. Another example, you shall not kill.It covers a large area, including abortion, euthenasia, think also death penalty.Thats the amazing thing about 10 Commandments, it covers large areas of morals. But the 'holy book' does not just cover the 10 Commandments but teachings of Jesus, its foundation: Love God & holy love for others. This can be accomplished by choosing to accept God's Grace, not reject

  • @inlight001 You shall not kill? and steal? Hmm, yet 'god' instructed his people to plunder land and murder women, children. Wow. Well that's one crazy bipolar hypocritical asshole.

  • FSM, my friends, FSM. May He sauce your world, Ramen. XD

  • The shortest distance between two points is a straight line - what cunt wrote that? hahahaha

  • And so some wise man saith, " It is easier to squeeze water from a rock than to get a harcore athiest to believe in God's existence." Hard to see the whole truth when you willingly blind yourself with presumptions, especially with humans...

  • Cool, I didn't know Ricky was an atheist. I'm agnostic, but atheists are one of the few groups of people whose beliefs I actually respect.

  • the last days sounds like!

Timothy ,For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth!

  • @majorl311, cool story bro

  • @bazzymushpea123 thanks man!

  • @Inclousid It is very relieving to see that there are still people in this world that haven't drowned in absolute fantasy, that have had their doubts and understood the evidence that stood before them. Religion is just a sect that succeeded. It is all just idiocy for people with no judgement

  • Talk about something ridiculous to swallow how about Darwinism. It takes more faith to believe that crap. Nevertheless, if you still want to believe your great grandpa was a worm then I won't argue with you.

  • @BT3701 LOL. I see that majorl311 asked you to come here and support his dellusion. We can all use friends I guess.

  • @Inclousid Wrong - no one asked me to come here, neither did anyone suggest this video to me.

  • @BT3701 Yes yes, of course not.

BT3701 - Thanks for the invite to subscribe - and thank you for subscribing to my channel as well - God Bless

majorl311 - God Bless you also, its nice to know you are out there!

There were no other personal messages after that were there... no of course not. ;)

  • @BT3701 It's also interesting how you both have exactly the same video (out of millions) on your home page.

    You're probably the same person.

  • @Inclousid Believe what you want - you're still sooooooo wrong. majorl311 merely decided to post one of my videos to his channel. If I ever need to hire someone to do detective work for me, I'll make sure you not someone I would consider for the job.

  • @BT3701 So is only spelled with one 'o'. And yes thanks, I do beleive what I want, based on the evidence before me. I don't believe what I'm told, like good little Christians.

  • @Inclousid Do you believe what they taught you in school?

  • @BT3701 Of course I did. I was a kid. But you know what? I grew up, and I learned to determine what was factual all by myself. What I didn't do was retain my childlike ignorance and continue to accept anything I was told when I was a kid, like Santa and Jesus were real people. I'll bet money you've simply accepted what the bible says, without investigating who actually wrote it and why (hint: it wasn't a god).

  • @Inclousid Congratulations - you've just struck out - that makes three times in a row you've been wrong. You need to smarten up and not make so many false assumptions.

  • @BT3701 Really. Then enlighten us, who wrote the bible and why?

  • @Inclousid . The Bible purports to contain more than a thousand inspired prophecies. The vast majority of these prophecies have already come to pass and can be verified by secular history,Consider that!

  • @majorl311 "The vast majority of these prophecies have already come to pass and can be verified by secular history,Consider that!"

    A lie.

  • @Inclousid /watch?v=YaIW0EYMUgY&feature=player_embedded#! go over to this video and in that section of youtube they have videos that show the Bible to be true!

  • @Inclousid for example, Ezekiel's prophecies concerning God's judgment against the ancient Phoenician capital of Tyre (Ezekiel, chapter 26). The prophecy states that Tyre would first be razed by Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar. Later, it would be utterly destroyed by a coalition of nations, flattened like the top of a rock, its ruins (and even its dust) scraped and thrown into the sea, becoming a place for fishermen to spread their nets. ,the original Tyre is gone !

  • @Inclousid men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2 Peter 1:21)

All Scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16)

For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 1:11-12)

  • @BT3701 Quoting scripture neither answers who wrote the bible, nor why it was created. I guess we can also write you off as a liar, just like your good friend majorl311.

  • @Inclousid Your comments are not deserving of an answer. According to the Bible you're a fool.

The fool has said in his heart there is no God - Psalm 14:1

    Case closed

  • @BT3701 You mean you can't answer the question, because you've never investigated the origins of the bible, and you've lied about doing so. I've never met a 60 year old suck before. Anyone who gives a cheap plagiaristic volume of copied stories (what you call the bible) any credence is not only a fool, but a wantonly ignorant idiot. Keeping that in mind, you can imagine how biting I found your bible quote. Tell me, when you pout like that, do you suck your thumb too?

  • @BT3701 I fully agree. Which is why I use my brain, and say it with my mouth. The heart is for pumping blood, idiot.

  • @bollwoven As someone who studies neuroscience, I salute you my friend! Finally! You won't believe how many people still believe in heart being the source of emotions ... or even some "mystical" soul giving rise to the human "thoughts and emotions"! Thank you!

  • @bollwoven haha

  • @BT3701

"The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God."

...and the wise hath said it out loud.

    Good day.

  • @BT3701 INCLOUDSID is not good at detective work the person jumps to conclusions and assumes there is no intelligent designer we call God, they won't accept the plan that God has for us humans, and when presented with evidence they refute it all.

Kids today in schools now for years have had evolution shoved on them, they are indoctrinated with it from a young age, there is a movie out called indoctrinationmovie com you can go there and see the trailer for it !

  • @majorl311 BT3701 seems not to be good at detective work either, as he's taking an awfully long time to google for an answer to two very simple questions. Had he actually investigated the origins of the bible, he would have been able to respond immediately, as he did with his hollow accusations of false assumptions.

  • @Inclousid maybe he went to have a snack or get his mail or do his laundry, why do you jump to conclusions, its not good to jump to conclusions, like jumping to conclusions that there is no after life no Heaven no Hell, when you travel it's good to know what the accommodations are!

  • @majorl311 I have determined there no Heaven or Hell or Afterlife, by not jumping to conclusions, but rather decades of investigation and research; finding not one shred of evidence to suport any of them. That's how you find truth you see, not by simply reading one book, and taking it all on face value. Btw, I was a born again Christian and fully believed in an afterlife. But unlike you, I investigated my beliefs to determine if they were legitimate, they weren't, and here we are.

  • @Inclousid Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:,storms will come into your life !

  • @Inclousid Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it, you have rejected the only thing that would save you!

  • @Inclousid The Parable of the Sower "And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: a sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. read this parable again and again!

  • @Inclousid And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."—Luke 8:4-8.

which was it what category do you fit into ,you were a Christian you say?

  • @majorl311 That was a nice waste of your time, because all of the nonsence you just wrote means absolutely nothing to me. Can you quote some Lord of the Rings? At least I may be interested then. It still confounds my mind why religous twits quote scripture to people who place zero credence in it. Like the words are some how magical and will sway the reader. Well, sorry pal, they're just words, poorly written words.

  • @Inclousid Deutomyownignorance 9:12-16 "And God saith unto Moses and all his people and anyone else who happened to be knocking about like the useless cunts they were (I mean they just sat there at the bottom of the mountain pissing about with golden bulls and shit doing nothing productive) herpaherpaherpaderp. Derp." There; I debunked atheism.

  • @Inclousid yes you have chosen your path I know the end result so enjoy the rest of your life !

  • @majorl311 Actually you don't know the result. You believe the result will be some fantasy. Knowledge and you do not mix, you should really stop using the word altogether.

  • @Inclousid I'm going to quit wasting my time on you, there is parable of the sower and one place that nothing grows is in rocky soil and you are granite soil nothing will ever grow, bye now!

  • @majorl311 More bible parables, yippie. That'll change my ways.

Here's one for you - "If god didn't want them sheared, he wouldn't have made them sheep".

  • @Inclousid Poorly written words my ass, you condescending punk. Great minds like Dostoyevsky, Martin Luther, and Machiavelli were all devout Christians, and the bible was obviously written by scholars. These scholars, may I add, have written something that is the most read book on earth, so to call it poorly written is ridiculous. I'm not even a Christian, but you can't be so openly ignorant.

  • @casciatod Check again ignoramous. The bible holds the simultaneous records of being the most purchased and least read book in history. It more often used as a prop than a book. And it was obviously written by scholars? Wow. Just wow. From that statement alone I can deduce you've never read it either. As for all those great minds, nice appeal to authority. However I can provide greater minds who find the bible to be hogwash, if authority is all you accept.

  • Comment removed

  • @Inclousid Being a practicing philosopher myself, I don't need you to find me any great minds that reject the bible, considering I idolize quite a few (Although not for their rejecting of the Bible). What pisses me off the most is when people write off all Christians, or any other religious group for that matter, as if their faith is petty or stupid. To spit on religion is to sully the name of those theists who have done greater things and are smarter than most atheists.

  • @casciatod Faith is petty and stupid. It serves absolutely no purpose in this day and age. Science has replaced superstition and has made god irrelevant. As to your fallacy in logic, I would like you to demonstrate just one instance of a theist who has furthered the progress of the world which was a direct result of their theism. What I can demonstrate to you are the wars, slaughters, and stifling of progress based solely in the name of theism. And theists smarter than most atheists? Risible.

  • @Inclousid Faith isn't limited to religion, and you exhibit a great deal of it in this post. Science has in no way made god irrelevant, and only an idiot would think that. Science is based on theory, not fact, which is a common misconception among those with a great deal of faith in science, such as yourself. If I name anyone, you will dispute the relationship between their theism and their significant action, but I may as well try: Martin Luther, George Berkeley, and Dostoevsky.

  • @casciatod Faith is believing in a proposition when there is a complete lack of evidence to support it, or the evidence points to the contrary. There is no faith in science. And your "I know you are but what am I" second grade debating tactics simply show your lack of substance in your rebuttal. You also have no knowledge of what theory means. And I guess I'll need to repeat. How did any of the men you mentioned, further the progress of society? And try not to be childish this time.

  • @Inclousid No, faith is believing in a proposition regardless of evidence supporting or contradicting it. Theory is what is accepted until it is replaced with another theory or in the very least shown to be false. Dostoyevsky is regarded as one of the forefathers of existentialism, Martin Luther fought against corruption in the church, and Berkeley advanced many philosophical and theological theories such as Descartes, "Cogito Ergo Sum." You want it straight, I'll give it to you straight.

  • @casciatod So according to you, fighting for a better church and the philosophies have furthered the progress of mankind? Spoken like a true theist. Because you see, they furthered nothing. Newton, Guttenberg, Einstein, Krauss, Hubble, Turing, etc... These men furthered the progress of mankind, in a tangible, beneficial manner.

And a theory, my ignorant man, is a group of tested propsitions used to explain facts about the natural world, and create predictions of the natural world.

  • @Inclousid Yes, Newton did further the progress of mankind, and was also an outspoken theist. So are half of the men on your list. Your definition of theory does not conflict with mine in the least; mine was simply more general, so I don't understand how I'm an ignorant. Speaking of ignorance, to reject that Luther, Dostoevsky, and Berkeley changed our world is to reject religion and philosophy, which is why we are arguing to begin with; you are an arrogant, disrespectful, idiotic little prick.

  • @Inclousid In fact, I can add Newton to my list, as his motivation for developing theories in physics was his monotheistic belief. He considered the existence of God to be undeniable, and scoffed at the idea of Atheism. His views of religion were so radical that even the Orthodoxy would not publish it.

Although you view me as a theist, I am not. I avoid any label, as they are restricting, however I suppose I am an empiricist. It is possible to doubt God's existence and respect religion.

  • @casciatod Ah, and the lack of substance leads you back to second grade tactics. Typical. As for Newton, none of his contributions were due to his theism, but rather in spite of it. Your assertion is a blatant lie. In fact, the only time he ever brought up god in his theories was when he reached the limit of his understanding. Yes, he was also a victim of the god of the gaps scenario. You see, when you can explain things through science, magic is no longer necessary.

  • @casciatod And yes, I do reject religion, whole heartedly. It is dangerous, repugnant, responsible for the world's current state, and likely its demise. As for philosophy, it is an interesting topic, but lends nothing to progress. I do not reject it, I simply find it irrelevant to the legitimately important disciplines. So feel free to call people names if they don't agree with your personal views. It doesn't make you right, it makes you desperate.

  • @Inclousid Seriously, after you called me a slew of names in the comments below you're going to pull that? If anything expresses desperation, its acting as if you've been victimized. Philosophy is the love of wisdom, and I would argue that it is one of the only truly progressive fields of study. If anything is responsible for the world's current state, it is science, considering that science can be credited with advances in warfare, making global warming possible, etc.

  • @casciatod Science can also be credited for creating medicine for curing illness, technologies for extending life, engineering for providing a comfortable life, physics for understanding our world, cosmology for understanding our universe, neuroscience for understanding ourselves. What have religion and philosophy contributed to the world in any beneficial way kid? Nothing.

  • @Inclousid

-One insult: Second Grade debating tactics

-Who is pulling the trigger: Somewhere between 68-90% of the world is religious. Neurology has proven that those who are genuinely spiritual, as opposed to simply having been religiously indoctrinated, are much less likely to commit a violent crime than any other demographic group.

-Philosophy, the love of wisdom, has advanced the wisdom of the global community. I shouldn't expect you to value wisdom though, obviously.

  • @casciatod Also, if you look at your own comments, you will note the use second grade argueing tactics. This is neither name calling not ad hominem, since the rebtual is based on your own words. You need to learn the actual meaning of an Ad Hominem attack.

Additionally, statistics prove that the lower a society's religious population, the higher the health of that society becomes. This has nothing to do with "genuine spirituality" and everything to do with religion. Lean the difference.

  • @Inclousid Thirdly, I would like to retire from the argument, because this is getting beyond frustrating. What you do in arguments is called Ad Hominem, and its ironic that while you claim that I use logical fallacies with every response, your argument is exclusively Ad Hominem half the time. Regardless, I believe that I've made it clear, if to nobody but myself, that atheists who disrespect religion are pretentious snobs with their heads up their asses.

    -Sincerely,

    An angry agnostic

  • @casciatod every1 has beliefs. nobodys beliefs.deserce unconditional respect. what you should realise is this, any belief unsupported by evidence however sincerely held is a false belief, thats not just me, thats a fact. until anyone presents unquestionable evidence 4 god their assertion of his existence should not be respected. especially people who claim those who do not share their unsupported belief deserve to have an infinite punishment for a so called finite crime.

  • @casciatod Athiests who disrepect religion are at the forefront of trying to save this planet from the forces in power who are hell bent on destroying this world, and creating a self-fulfilling prophecy, that at the end of it all, they alone will be saved. You are blinded to this, and would rather pander to the insane. Which is why I also disrepect you.

  • @Inclousid What we call philosophy is the backbone of science. Philosophy starts with logic and language. All should learn about philosophy, then people like WLC would be out of "work" and what we call "religion" would be a harmless entity, but maybe useful.

Religious entities do not whant the "normal" people to learn the basics for philosophy. It opens up our mind and that is dangerous for some....

  • @VogonJ I have never been in disagreement with the usefulness of philosophy, what I said, and contend, is that philosophy does not of its own accord further the progress of human kind. I'm reminded of a quote once made by Lawrence Krauss, "philosophers are experts at nothing". I especially enjoyed his double entendre of the meaning of nothing.

  • @Inclousid ah, then we agree, but i think, maybe, many whill read your statement as I did :)

  • @casciatod Do you believe in fairies unicorns and leprechauns???

    You should with your logic...

If you cant disprove it, it must be real???

    Do you really think that???

  • @SlashDotDash121 I don't even believe in God. Maybe if you had thoroughly read my comments you would have realized that. As for your cliched argument, and your lack of knowledge of logic, we can shoot Ad Hominem at each other all day, however I would much rather you do that in your High-School debate team rather than bother me.

  • @majorl311 They only imagine they refute it all. Yes, from a young age they are indoctrinated five days a week in their State mandated schools to become good little Secular Humanists, evolutionists, liberals, and atheists, and that is done gradually to them until the government has completely molded them into mature Secular world citizens, going about doing the work of the Devil.

  • @BT3701 yes well since the devil walks about like roaring lion seeking who he may devour and since he is the prince of this present world, he holds his subjects under tight controls as you have said!

  • From Dust to Man: A Scientific Proof google this find the scientific proof

  • Technically, the shortest distance between two points is nothing. If the two points are congruent to each other, there is no distance, yet there are still two distinct points. ;)

  • i love how court systems make people swear on a bible that has the ten commandments in it..one of which says thou shalt not kill, and then sentence people to death??

  • LMAO , i love the look he does when he is like Old 50's dad . "You fuckin what"

  • I'll never understand why normal people debate with irrational morons.

A definition from insanity is doing the same over and over again expecting different results.

  • In the bible God's actually kind of a prick if you think about it I mean he just kills humans left and right. He asks that one guy to kill his son just to see if he could actually do it he wanted to test his control over him, isn't that sort of what Jim Jones did, and he also says that parents should kill their children for disobeying them.

  • @devilshomie I would! None of this "I will gain their respect" bullshit like sjatox commented. You can keep the faggotry and new age parenting bullshit. LOL
