I have a fatty liver. Mt Dew has been my favorite drink for YEARS. After learning about fructose and liver damage.. I can almost not even make myself drink it. This scares the crap out of me. Not because I'm being impressed but because I did and am doing a lot of research. I'm on the verge of a major thing. Fatty Liver is giving me the push over the edge I've needed.
i was diagnosed with fatty liver,im 5'6,189 lbs,i really gained weigh coz i was 140 lbs bfore,i had 2 opinions with doctors and the thing is they want to run some tests and its really expensive,my friend's mom was also diagnosed but then they just gave her medicines.sad to say they didn't remembered the location coz it was 2yrs ago.whats the best thing i can do about this..where can i buy milk thistle in the Philippines pls. let me know thank you
@tyrape Even more importantly than milk thistle stop eating and drinking sugar. Eat whole foods (ie what you buy in the produce section) nothing processed (bread, pasta, cereal) and research "liver flush" dr hulda clark. You have to have a complete lifestyle change, and if you do, it could wind up being the best thing that ever happened to you.
Yea go a head and drink up.drink all day every day.drink 6 to 10 beers a day its good for you.Don't you see that liver? sure you do, don't you want one just like it? Don't you want to be cut open like that and have ppl feeling your liver.
ayaw mo mag burn nakakatamadddddddddddd...wowwwwwwwwwwwwww.....nakakatamad po ba talaga..pero pag kulekta ng pera..hindi kayo tinatamad.........ayusin naman nyoooooo
Milk Thistle is the shit. Got diagnosed with fatty liver a few months back had pains under right ribcage. Have taken milk thistle pains have entirely gone away. True story!
@theyear2102 hey..how are you? how long did you take the milk thistle before the pain went away and did you do anything else besides the milk thistle?
@emergencyexit16 Do not by any means drink any alcohol i know from experience mxiing the two can be disastrous for your liver. i actually drank 3 days straight and crapped out green while taking milk thistle. meaning there was bile in my feces. So really watch what you eat and drink while taking this med. It does work but be cautious while taking it. From my experience it may actually do more harm then good if you are still drinking on it.
doc ok lang yan...atleast nalalaman namin yung itsura ng may fatty liver po..tulad ko n dengue sabay pa yung typhoid tpos nung naultra sound ako may fatty liver din....hayyyy.....
Milk Thistle Extract. It should help recover your liver. But if you drink while taking it then it wont do much good. All it will do is slow down the process sirosis.
My dr. tells me no but I've read on veg source etc that it can indeed be reversed. If you think about it-if we as a world do the complete opposite in terms of eating, exercising etc we would have probably half the sickness and disease we have today.
doc what should I do when i had my gallbladder removed, I had read also from the result that i have fatty liver, what does it mean and what should I do about it.
Eat foods low in fat and find a good gastroenterologist or hepatologist to follow you. I have NASH too (fatty liver). It's nothing to take lightly. We transplant people with end stage liver disease secondary to NASH freuqently. If you take care of yourself, exercise, eat balanced meals, keep in contact with a good doc, you are on the right path. Best wishes.
Jax, I was diagnosed with slight fatty infiltration of the liver about a year ago. I'm 5'6" tall and about 165 lbs. My limbs are thin but although I'm not obese I do carry the majority of weight in my abdominal area and am having some pain which my dr. says is impossible. He also says nothng can be done to reverse but I've been reading that a healthy plant based diet and exercise along with 1-2lb a week weight loss will slowly (possibly months or years) reverse it. Is this true?
It depends on how bad the cirrhosis is. Slight fatty infiltrates doesn't sound bad, but I can't be sure if I don't know exactly what you were diagnosed with. Have you ever had a problem with gallstones?
Hi Jax, they just told me "slight fatty infiltration of the liver" and I do have an emangioma which was confirmed to be so. I had an mri of my entire abdomen. My gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys etc are all fine and my enzymes were normal. I don't have the pain anymore today. It seems I'll get it for two weeks then I'll pass alot of feces and feel better. That sounds like gallbladder to me but I was told no. I am exercising more and following the weight watchers points to lose the weight.
I got diagnosed 3 mos ago with fatty liver most of my enzymes were normal and healthy. But it's restricting the bile flow, and when it does, it makes me feel terrible all day. I'm taking so many supplements it's crazy. And I do cardio 40 minutes moderate pace every other day!
junechris, when you say it's restricting the bile flow is that when you have pain? I wonder if that is what I have because a couple of weeks after the pain I pass alot of dark matter and then the pain goes away and I feel much better. Are you getting pain or something else?
BTW, today is the last day I don't take care of myself. I will be on the eliptical tomorrow at 7am no excuses!!!
I usually feel worse all day if I don't get sufficient bile flow, color is too light. I would recomend getting sylmarin (milk thistle) and taking it 2-3 times a day. along with S.A..M.E. and N.A.C. n-acetlyl cystiene with regular exercise. You have to push a little too, moderate exercise is key. It can reduce fatty liver up to 40%
I got up this morning and got on the eliptical. Instead of timing it I counted the calories instead. I did 150 calories, went for a walk before and will play tennis tonight. I want to work myself up to 500 calories a day (about 45ms) on the eliptical as a base and then add to that during the day.
What is a elliptical? Not familiar with that term, BTW you asked if I was obese, I'm not. I got fatty liver from too much alcohol up to 2007. After 2007 I quit totaly for one year, then went back to casual 1-2 drinks (beer). then my doc told me to stop totally, so I did. Now I havent drank again sinse Nov last year!
Hi again, the eliptical has been around awhile. It's non impact and the pedals go in a circular motion like a bicycle but you stand up. It's great on my knees. I change the resistance so I get a great workout and also sweat. Oh, I wasn't implying that you were obese just if you were overweight or not. I have "nafld' because I don't drink. It's from eating too much and storing the visceral fat in my organs moreso than the subcataneus that's under the skin.
I still worry that my condition will turn into cirrhosis every time my stool color is pale. Every time I modify my routine like taking more milk thistle the color improves for a while then regresses back to square one, I believe my efforts are helping me. But I don't know if it's a lost cause sometimes. My doctor said you really cant take too many vitamins except the fat soluble ones like I mentioned before.
Does too light color mean that cirrhosis is happening? I get it about once a week and I still have alot of pain in the area. I'm going to make an appointment with a liver dr. tomorrow.
Hey, how are you feeling? Just wondering, did you get any silymarin( milk thistle)? it really helps, doctors use it in Europe to treat cirrhosis , I can give you a list of stuff you can take that is safe, and doctor approved if you are interested. Just staying in touch, we liver ailing people need to stick together, bye 4 now!!!
Hi Junechris, sorry it's been a busy week! My husband and I both had friends in from out of town and today I'm tired! Good news-I am down 5lbs in the past 2-3wks from eating a plant based diet and exercising at least 30ms a day. I feel better and I don't have as much pain under my ribs. I have milk thistle but haven't used it yet. I go back to dr. next month. How are you feeling? Please don't give up. The body can heal itself under the right circumstances.
You got it! I want to go vegan so badly but I'm being a baby about it. I want to do it till Thanksgiving and then take a little break. I have a b12 problem so I have to watch it
Good for you for stopping drinking!! Anything you enjoy is hard to give up. I've given up fast food, iced coffe and soda. Oh, I meant to ask did you ever do a liver cleanse? Supposedly you ingest salt, olive oil, lemon and warm water. It's supposed to purge the stones from the bile ducts in the liver and gallbladder. It sounds harmless but I'm nervous that I will make my situation worse if I do.
@tyrape It's usualy one perday but depends on the strength. Milk thistle or artichoke can be used as a preventative so it's safe to take as long as desired. I think more of my problem is comming from the gall bladder output causing my fatty buildup. I'm probably gonna have to get it removed.
