Hey eevryone, is there anyone who can help me as an Ableton novice..every time i try to record my vocals using a microphone over the top of my ready mde backing track , for some reason it also reocrds the backing track on the new audio microphone track EVEN THO i use earpphones ..plsss help ..cant record vocals at all on finished tracks Stephen x
I'm sure I am going to feel really stupid when you answer this question but how do you make a processed track? I can't seem to find that anywhere. I am using ableton 6. I have mostly been doing live recording and am trying to expand to making everything except vocals and find that the more I learn the more there is to learn. any help at all is greatly appreciated.
Great tutorial. I'm using this tonight for my gig. I'm getting paid 9,000 for this gig. My first gig! I'm just about...I can't sleep. And the chicks, that's why I do it. The chicks.
Really cool effect. But im afraid i only know how to use ableton 8 in arrangementview. Is there a way to create the reverse vocal effect in arrangement view ?
@namdancer, if you mean that "sweep sound", you can use Operator.
Just chose the Noise wav form, and turn on the filter section. Select a better type of filter for your taste (it could be LF12 for i.e) and turn up the ressonant knob and after that you can automate the "filter knob" (in the filter "section" all inside Operator) to get this kind of sound..
The "Operator" is a FM synth, just like a Vsti synth, developed by Ableton but it's just for Ableton Live. The "noise wav form" is a "wav form" inside of the "Operator synth" and you can choose between a lot of other wav forms to generate and create a sound.
If you buy the "standart" version of Live, you need to buy separetely Operator or you can buy the Live Suite 8, that comes with Operator and some other instruments, sampled instruments...
Check out their web site, (just google "ableton") and choose "products" to see the curret products)
Could someone please tell me how (if it's possible...) to trigger drum sounds in reverse mode using the Impulse drum machine??? Thanks so much for your time! - Great tutorial by the way... cheers!
Does anyone know how to Use Ableton Live as an effect processor.I am using one macbook with traktor pro and i wanna use another macbook with ableton as an effetor, there are much moore great effects than traktor pro has,,, PLEASE HELP ME !!!!
i know a more simple way, in arrangiamet view just copy vocal you wanna reverse in a new track, apply reverb then freeze, then flatten, then reverse...
u freeze the midi clip u wanna reverse then simply drag and drop it onto an audio channel then BAM :D its audio now u can hit the little Rev. botton n its reversed :D let me know if u need any help im using ableton for my trax :D

This effect makes up up the "AIR DANCE" [I like how you put it =3 "Ghost Effect"] sound which gives trance that uplifting flavor =3
Truly is one of the reasons "Armin Van Buuren's" remix of Faithless "Not Going Home" work so dang well! XD
Thanks for taking the time to share this kindness with our world Nick! =D

Hi Cicek!
Sorry, I did'nt get your question...
What do you mean?
Paladinoocara 2 years ago
Oh, I think I understood what you mean..
The "Operator" is a FM synth, just like a Vsti synth, developed by Ableton but it's just for Ableton Live. The "noise wav form" is a "wav form" inside of the "Operator synth" and you can choose between a lot of other wav forms to generate and create a sound.

Paladinoocara 2 years ago
ohhh ok that makes sense. do you have to buy Operator separately?
Cicek 2 years ago
Yeah, that's right.
If you buy the "standart" version of Live, you need to buy separetely Operator or you can buy the Live Suite 8, that comes with Operator and some other instruments, sampled instruments...

this can also be done with any audio clip, eg drum beats, synths, try different sounds to the desired effect, great for buildups
