Racing fuel does not help for throttle response, higher octane content is actually bad for the throttle response area, not too bad where it's highly noticeable although.

Octane is a hydrocarbon, the extra carbon content makes higher octane fuel able to resist detonation easier. Essentially, per volume it has less potential to make energy.

The throttle response is most likely due to some advanced timing, and the engine being cold.

The 540 was faily easy to transplant, Just used moroso solid motor mounts and Lemons Headers that two go through the fenderwell.

@firedudesta27 when you or who ever installed the engine did they mod it? becase that aint stock. but how many miles does it have on the engine? i would just build up the 350 and stroke to a 383 and have some good ol fun. better then buying a new crate engine or something.

Dude dont put a ford 460 in a camaro. I would go with a 350 or 400 small block, besides parts are cheper and easier to find for sbc"s.
