It's too bad that the people that cannot conceptualize the story of sg-1 are missing out on one of the greatest journey's television can provide. I got into this series when season 5 was airing, or a little after, and this is the show that really got me hooked into science fiction. Since we lack the technology to see what is really out there, it is nice for something to give us the imagination of what could be out there!

Btw, about SG-1, Atlantis and Universe, will there be some differences (not talking about new characters or places), because I have only watched SG-1, and I heard from some friends that Atlantis will focus more on the action than mysticism. You know, for example the time where a douchebag made the SG-1 team clones and made them work for him. Or when they switched bodies. Is that the same in Atlantis, or are there more gunfights or such? Cause I the mysticism elements more than gunfights...
@Magnoliaprod Atlantis is more action and more about meeting new people and is quite different from SG-1, though it should be noted that the soul of Stargate is still there and it is a very good show. Universe is more focused on psychology and less action, but again, very good show. I recommend watching both.
@Magnoliaprod While universe is a bit more independent then the others I would still recommend watching Atlantis. Some very interesting things there. I personally liked it more than SG.1, but less than Universe.
I just realized the other day that Stargate Sg-1 has been a part of my life since I was thirteen years old. Now 21, I have to think back and remember all the years I've been hearing this opening theme while wide-eyed with wonder and anticipation. And all the years I've spent humming this theme to myself throughout the day.

@darthkantus It's actually not gold but a creature called Goa'Uld it is a snake like creature. It's also a Symbiot creature that uses the body of its host to mature becoming their immune system and eventually kills the host when it matures and leaves them to find a new host for it's adult life. The adult Goa'Uld can latch itself onto the spinal cord attaching itself to the nerves in its hosts brain and taking over control of that host completely.

The reason they did this was because they found Humans to be a good race for Slavery and Worship. Furthermore they found the earth to be rich in Naquadah, a mineral the Goa'Uld used in all their Technology.
So basically they came to earth to make human slaves, and make themselves seem as gods.

Well I really dont like Atlantis either. Sheppad is just a character who try to be O'neill and failed... Mitchel was 100x better in my option.. So I'm really happy that a new Stargate Series comes out that maybe will be a great follower for SG-1!

While I strongly disagree with you judging a show that isn't even out and the available information on it is minimal, I have to agree about the cast picture. It did remind me of Dawson's Creek, as well as a few other soap opera cast pictures.
Well, SG is famous by making miracles with low budgets. But Pankminek has a point, SGU problably will rock! Its importante to keep up with the episodes!

I liked SG1 and Atlantis was Cool, But i think they are starting to destory stargate with diffrent series and still continueing SG1. I can only be intrested in ORI/Goauld/Wraith attacks for so long.

I mean it does become very Repetative watching episodes where the Ori, Goauld or Wraith are mentioned or shown.
The azgard are gone and were at least intresting and it always seems like Humans are needing help from everyone.
It got boring so i stopped watching.

I feel so bad. SG1 and Atlantis were my favorite shows of all time. However I think Stargate Universe won't be the same. If its supposedly like battlestar galactica or startrek its not the same anymore. I'l give it a chance at least.

dude i'm just asking because the other day i was zapping tv channels to avoid those boring 10 minutes commercials between a movie, and i ended in a channel that was playing a Stargate-SG1 episode, with Richard Dean Anderson fighting what appeared to be an egyptian pharaoh (and there were also some guards, with wolf heads, just like in the egyptian hieroglyphics!).. and they processed the gold for what? forgive my curiosity

yeah, that's what they say. they processed the gold to save their planet. i don't know details, i saw it some time ago on a tv documentary, don't remember what. the host was one of the major guys who advocate this ancient aliens nonsense and he himself said that. i think he was a scientologist though, so that explains everything.
so you didn't actually watch SG1? go watch it right now, you won't be disappointed. its a very good show.

@darthkantus It's actually not gold but a creature called Goa'Uld it is a snake like creature. It's also a Symbiot creature that uses the body of its host to mature becoming their immune system and eventually kills the host when it matures and leaves them to find a new host for it's adult life. The adult Goa'Uld can latch itself onto the spinal cord attaching itself to the nerves in its hosts brain and taking over control of that host completely.

@darthkantus Well in SG1 they are fighting for most of the seasons a race of the Goa'Uld and the one Richard Dead was fighting was likely to be Apophis. And they came to earth roughly 10500 Years BC. The reason they did this was because they found Humans to be a good race for Slavery and Worship. Furthermore they found the earth to be rich in Naquadah, a mineral the Goa'Uld used in all their Technology.
So basically they came to earth to make human slaves, and make themselves seem as gods.

Jack is going to make an appearance? Never heard that. I was probably going to watch the show because the woman that plays Black Canary in Smallville is a star, but that makes me want to watch at least that episode.

Because they cancelled SGA, My favorite show in a long time because of they only wanted one show at a time for SGU. Also, the actor pictures look like Darsons creek

Well I really dont like Atlantis either. Sheppad is just a character who try to be O'neill and failed... Mitchel was 100x better in my option.. So I'm really happy that a new Stargate Series comes out that maybe will be a great follower for SG-1!

Have you even seen the cast picture? Its like a dawsons creek cast picture. Lame. And they dont even travel in the Stargate, Hell there is no stargate in the plot. SG1 was awesome, SGA was awesome, SGU looks like shit

While I strongly disagree with you judging a show that isn't even out and the available information on it is minimal, I have to agree about the cast picture. It did remind me of Dawson's Creek, as well as a few other soap opera cast pictures.

Just like the SG Atlantis. If you haven't watched the show, I suggest you do it NOW ;).
You have to be up-to-date with SG for upcoming Star Gate Universe. I just hope that the crysis in US won't affect the series budget..

i have the first stargate movie, released 1994, and all Sg1 episodes, and all atlantis episodes..
its like a whole story, so u should see Sg1
And besides, SG1 is much better then atlantis.
