its a great game, my computer loaded patches in 6 hrs with broadband and 2.4 dual core. And all of those patches has basically fixed ALL the problems, nothing but tweeking and polishing now
All the good players are gaming through the bugs. Once its all fixed they will be happy they stayed. :)
Oh and, for all those people who think this game is sooo bad, go play WoW. Its full of cartoony characters and a bunch of little boys who get the game for their birthday and 30+ year old men that role girl characters for fun.
Here's a few Bug -Latency problem(is that a bug?) -NPC not talking to you(text dissapear) -Texture stop loading and you're stuck with low graphic while playing on very high -Some Baddies dont even attack -Boss that 1 shot everything -Fatality bug(1 Shot ftw?) -Quest mark often dissapear -Client freeze -Invisible Wall What is annoying and i consider it a bug it's the game scan before you log .Take 1-4 minutes You also often have a mini 20-30 mo patch everytime your game crash
They released it way too fast.Take for exemple warhammer.They test the game for now YEARS.They also often pushed their release.The beta testing of AOC was a mess and yet they released the game LOL.

I have literally, not an telling a big fish story. I have beta and played launch for every major MMO since SWG. I will tell you the same thing that almost every professional review has said. One of the smoothest launches ever.
WoW - Servers where down 50% of the time for 2 weeks. PvP terribly unbalanced.
SWG- Chat bugged for 2 weeks. No mounts, no speeders. SOE (need I say more)
Vanguard_ WORST LAUNCH EVER! Chat & tells, bugged to hell. Random teleports across the world.
Comon... Funcom sold an unfinished, unbalanced, bugged game as it was glorious... bunch of liers... They wont have my subscribe anymore until they show something more than fake promesses
ok, I agree, there's much more work to do. But they add one patch after another and I don't have any doubts that it will be a great game...in 2 months. They threw it on the market too early, maybe because they wanted to release the game before warhammer online.
But in it's quite a good game, and I have a lot of fun with it.
And NO mmorpg was perfect at it's release...even the "glorious" World of Warcraft.
I understand. But I just feel that I was... you know... well... they just lied about the game. Tortage is very nice. The graphics are pretty good. But we are paying for a "beta". I like AoC too. But they just did so many things wrong. I'm also waiting for WAR and if they don't do anything to fix everything WAR beat AoC easily.
Give them some time. They made a big mistake by releasing it too early. But I think they learned their lesson. They can't afford any more mistakes, so I'm a 100% sure that the announced pvp-rewarding system and contents for mid/high 30ers/50ers will be added this month. WAR will be cool too, as it is developed by the DAoC makers, but there's one thing, I really hate about this game, even before I played it:

they copied these cartoon graphics from WoW...maybe a little bit better looking.
I will stick to AoC, because I think AoC has a lot of potencial. ;)
