I saw this guy at the Eastern Trombone Conference.... . .. ...this was the greatest Bass Trombonist I've ever heard in my life... ... . legend (I mean) story goes that this guy got bored as Principal Trombonist and switched to Bass Trombone just for the hell of doing so...

Though this is partially true, he did have to work pretty hard at it to become the bass trombonist he is. Bass trombone is significantly different from tenor.
