@Bos187: I believe the CCD bakeout is a "Charge Coupled Device" Bakeout. A CCD or Charge Coupled Device is a small chip used to translate light into an electrical charge.

If one was to point your camera at a light source with a high luminosity, then the light's intensity would fry the circuit.

It's the same reason your parents told you not to stare into the sun. You will ruin your imaging device.

I imagine that this is quite common in this line of work...

The second half of the vid shows the sun in ultaviolet light. Normally it would be invisible to our eyes.

A special sensor on satellite detacts it and converts it into an image we can see - the green color does't mean anything, it's just chosen by the scientists.

Actually, the Earth is well over due. We could die any minute. There is a nebula, explosive star near us (not near but near :) ) and every so years it would collect gas and let it out as an explosion. But now, for reasons unknown it hasnt had this minor explosion and has been growing for many years. it is unknown when it will explode, but it has now collected enough gas to reach and wideout planet earth.
