Alb tried to negotiate peacefully for 10 years under Rugova, but Serbia ignored them. Kosovo was never a part of Serbia per say, it was incorporated to Serbia under Yugoslavia, Serbia has always recognized its borders.
Serbia negotiates only when it's bombed to the ground and has no choice. The problem is that Serbia can give no guarantees to K-Alb that if Kosovo stays within state of Serbia, there will not be another Milosevic in the future which will start another slaughter in the region.

I don't want to match horror with horror...it is very easy to do. But very depressing too.
We know that in times of war every psychopath is set free to indulge his or her brutal nature. Albanians have don appalling things. So have Bosnians and Croats....don't try to out 'horror' me because I have seen far more butchered Serbian bodies on YouTube than any other variety. Murdered in the most horrible way. Serbs have more than an 'idea' what Kosovo is. It looms large in their history and they are bitterly seething that the USA and UK have stolen it from them. My partner is Serbian, gentle and sweet but she knows what Kosovo is my friend....she knows very well.

I already asked her about her family who were raped, mutilated and driven out of their homes. Do you honestly believe that Serbs weren't butchered in Kosovo, Krajina, and Bosnia?
