  • HIIIGH SKOOL DAZE! Man when Teenager of the Year came out that LP was in heavy rotation at my place, and we were anticipating this album for like 4 years, 'when is the new album comin out?' So I was very exited when it finally hit shelves. Cult of Ray is a great LP but Teenager of the year will always be my favorite album, and its a rare one for me to have an LP you listen all the way through every time you play it,

  • Will always love this guy!

  • I MADE YOU A COPY AND I PUT IT IN THE MAIL!!!

  • I remember years ago in the late 90's i saw a TV studio performance with just Frank and an electric guitar, he played this song, but ive never found that gig since or even where to look

  • This man so knows Rock & Roll.

  • Hmm peanut butter. Guess he was bulkin' then LOL

  • Right on.

  • I am the license holder and you must cease and desist... Im just kidding!!!

  • This is awesome, but always thought Lyle Workman was the unsung hero of Frank's solo group

  • If I were to send music to another planet to show the aliens the best of human music I'd send Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Jethro Tull, Pixies and Frank Black.

  • @mauzark wow!! great comment

  • I can't believe he thinks no one cares about this music anymore. At the end of the day, FB is the only one I can return to again and again...

  • Thought I'd never see this one again... thanks so much!

  • have you ever heard his song for the powerpuff girls movie?

  • @benjie414 Heroes and Villains? Heck yeah!

  • @breakupdancer That is the best song ever and he didnt know what the powerpuff girls were when he wrote it even more kickass

  • Hard rocking the PB and J

  • Was that directed at me? You don't think the sandwich scene is a bit... random?

  • Such a happy Californian place for such a cool song.

  • fuck of

  • It's hard for a guy like Frank to make it through an entire music video without something to eat, all that singing makes a guy hungry. Heh heh, love it.

  • i love it. damn, frank i love you.

  • I love Frank too..

and I love ya for loving Frank too..:)

  • i've still got the 7inch single for this :)

For some reason it sounds much rawer than the mp3/cd version i heard since....sounds like bullshit i know. but it really does. wish he was still writing songs like this :(

  • Well i know that there were at least two versions of this song, One on the Cult of Ray, and a different recording on the Headache EP. Frank Black Francis often rerecords his stuff... its not uncommon to find 2-3 versions of the same song. The black letter days opens and closes with 2 very different covers of The Black Rider. Many other examples exsist.

  • heh! fair enough.

Honestly I've always felt the "vinyl sounds better than cd" was kinda bs. doesn't stop me from buying old shellac and brainiac 12" for collection (i don't even have a record player). one day they'll be worth something.

  • Werd Vynal sounds best, its all psychosomatic... whatever... Shellac For The Win, indeed.

  • 3:03 HUH

    GENIUS

  • this and"whatever happened to pong"are my FAV. frank black videos, he's whole career has been amazing! lyric wise, the man's a Genius!

  • When that light blasts behind him....MAGIC!

  • My friend was at a pixies concert once, and when it came time to play 'Where is my mind', Frank got all disgusted, quit playing, and said "I can't fucking do this song anymore." LOL..I thought that was awesome when I heard it...only Chuckles would do that...

  • that proves just how awesome Charles is!

  • @JosephK1980 hey what means LOL?

  • d0es anyone remember the first version of this song? it was on an import single and far superior to this version

  • nope! did it have the same title?

  • This song was originally a B side to Headache. Tt was way better than this version, i agree. I did own the single but it went walkies.

  • I have the single still yah for me!. I have most of his singles from this era and before, some of the coolest songs were only found on his B sides!

  • the lyrics of the pixies are surrealistic champag

  • I'm awaiting my visitation

  • Google "Albert K. Bender" for the truth about the MIB legend...

  • LOL... I don't understand... He says he's watchin' his back, but he didn't even answer the door... He was just goofin' off with his band instead. I like the pink light and the strobe light, and I love Frank Black's music, but the rest of the video kinda let me down. Nobody answered the door or came in the door. I wanted to see what would happen next, but nothing happened, it just ended. I was hoping for some guy to come and take Chip away!

  • ur retarded....LOL....but in a good way

  • what about egypt's cult of re

  • i was lucky enough to meet fb a few years ago. i asked him why he didn't include this song in his set. he said, "I didn't think anyone remembered that stuff."

  • Of course we f. do remember ! and we loved it and still do! and the guitar ! !

  • Thanks! I was really looking forward to watching (and listening) to this!

  • OH! cult of ray bradbury..thanks for posting that info hypperstaticrocks! frank black is great.

  • No, just another Mike MIlls who´s directed tons of other videos. This album "The Cult of Ray" is named after Frank´s favorite sci-fi writer Ray Bradbury. He´s my fave too!

  • directed by mike mills- the bassist for R.E.M.?

  • love this vid!
