@gui3s3 yes, it's real. the sharks @ Seal Island (South Africa) and the Farallon Islands (California) have developed hunting techniques that require them to swim upwards very fast to catch their prey, in this case seal pups. The water in these places is so clear that they have to hunt this way because the seals would see them otherwise. You can take tours to watch them do it.

The Great White is not the largest predatory fish on the planet as that title is reserved for the whale shark. Even though the whale shark is a filter feeder, it still actively pursues its prey, hence it is a predator. It is also larger than the Great White.

Predatory fish means exactly that. A fish that hunts it's prey. A whale shark doesn't really 'hunt' in the predatory sense. It just swims around with it's mouth open and scoops up tiny plankton. That's not really 'predatory'.

If you want to see this with your own eyes and in the one place in the World where this happens, Go to the Cape in South Africa. Specifically Seal Island around there. Not sure if they actually allow tourists out there but if you got the money I doubt they will say no. Most money would go to Shark conservation anyway if you use a reputable licenced guide.
