@Dust0fNation Thanks man! I've been playing for about 30 years. Hard to say, cause I don't remember exactly, but I think I was seven years old when I first tried the guitar and that was back in 1980...
@EmilAxelssonMusic Jag har faktiskt aldrig haft någon US strata.
ÿou are great player and great technique is only one of your great sides. you got the feeling and you know what is it music. Your sound is great(BUT ITS NOT IN THE AMP BUT IN YOU)
Thanks! In comparison with the stock Burstbuckers, the JB had a lot more treble, more of everything actually, but I guess a lot of that is because of the pickup covers on the Burstbuckers...
But I traded that guitar for a Parker Fly Classic which suits my needs much better! :)
I don't think there are any weird scales involved here, just A minor, A minor pentatonic... Don't know really, I'm not that good at music theory, I just go with the chords you know, sometimes I even don't know what key I'm playing in. I don't mean that I don't know all keys, but I play without thinking about it, I find my way on the fretboard anyway.
Oh my god! i wish i could prce such sounds on my little morgan stratocaster ; ) iive been playing guitar for like a year, and all my friends just shoot like a rocket a ocket past me in skills, while im left in the dust with some weird stuff dinner last week! ; s How did you get so good : P
Take your time, don't play over your abilities too much. Think melody!!
Technique will develop over time and if you focus hard you will grow in knowledge on how to pick the right notes.
Do not envy your friends for their quick development, they may play fast and flashy, but in the end... grandma likes melody before technique, so... relax, learn many different styles, play alot and watch your friends stay in the shred genre while you pick the right notes! :D
such a waste of amazing feeling and technique! on a top 3 list of the best ballads i know of, this one is first, November Rain comes as a number two, and Sold My Soul on third... amazing how it build up, and you say th BT is boring, it fits to your guitar playing :)
cant believe you're not signed by a record company. :P youre better than Steve Vai ;)
dude IM seriously amazed! your improvisations has an amazing technique and speed but still an tottaly awesome feel and melody love your stuff man keep on rocking...id like to hear a band of yours one day ...(:
Too bad I overplay and do all those fast things, but I can't help it - it's so fun to play fast! ;) (ok, not really FAST, but hey, you know what I mean, right?)
I compared to guitars before I bought this one which is a 60's neck and tonewise I think the 50's neck is a better choice - more wood - more sustain, but playability is more important to me, so I chose the 60's neck and I love it.
I removed the laquer on the backside of the neck to, it was way to sticky before, now it's only oiled and waxed exactly the way that Music Man do it! Highly recommended! :D
;) Lite i smyg! Hehe!
Ok first of all Cedric, you are a phenomenal player. Secondly, I need advice..I want to coil tap my Epi LP standard plus when i get new pickups.
Could you suggest a suitable set (not necessarily matching) pickups for this? Price is not much of an issue with the pickups. Is it worth doing the coil tap on a LP? My style is mostly modern lead...and your style is a perfect match.
Well, in order to coil tap pickups, you need to get pickups with four conductors.
If it's worth it? Well, as long as your playing style isn't depending on having two volume pots and two tones, then you've got nothing to lose. It's no problem to undo the soldering if you know your way with the soldering iron... Schematics are all over the internet, so that won't be an issue either.
I have removed the lacquer on the neck, my hand got stuck all the time, especially on stage all sweaty and that. Now I have oil and wax only and it feels very smooth and dry!
You can do it! Just listen to the chords and make sure the notes you're playing is within those chords.
It isn't necessary to play fast, most people seem to appreciate tone and melody over speed and technique.
Of course you need technique to control your tone, and speed is fun, but a good melody is really all it takes! Let your fantasy lead the way, and trust your ears!

omg what unknown rock-legend are you? fucking awesome, you got THE feeling, and you can pull of some ultimate speed licks ;) i wanna be the kind of guitarist like you (first vid i've seen of you, but this is fucking awesome!)
Its one thing to be able to play good but you have got it when it comes to phrasing. I see people who can play scales well but the phrasing isn't there. I get inspired listening to you play.
No problem man! I can't stop watching this video. Its almost reminiscent of Gary Moore, but I can hear you have developed your own distinct style. Now my favorite guitarist on youtube! Rock on!
nice playing man...what spacing did you get for the sd jb pickups? f-spaced or regular spaced? i also have a les paul but i dont know what spacing would be compatible...tnx!
Excellent!!! I find your style of playing very similar to mine. I love to just kick back and play over random backing tracks rather than mainstream tracks. Great feeling and tone without trying to show-off!!! Playing like this is what should inspire others to pick up the instrument. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I got a Les Paul Classic and considering splitting my new pick-ups (seymour duncan alnico II pro). Please help, do you think it is a worthy investment....good sounding and all.

Hey man.
No, I tried it at the rehearsal, but I don't like it... thinking of trading it for a trumpet or something! :D
Maybe all those years with real high gain tube amps did poison my ears, but I don't like stomp box distortion anymore.
Maybe as a little boost in front of the amp, but then there are other pedals that are better suited for that, like my Nobels ODR1-plus.
Merry christmas!
/ F
CedricIII 3 years ago
Hey, that's cool, I played trumpet for a decade. The only effects I had then was a Wah Mute.
Now I'm wanting something like a preamp maybe.
Something to bring out those harmonic overtones and make them ring out loud. Is that what the Nobels ODR1-plus does?...Laser~

how long have you been playing guitar???
May I konw it,please?
isda89 3 years ago
Of course. I picked up the guitar for the 1st time in 1980 at age seven, but didn't start practicing until -84 when I was eleven.
I haven't had any formal guitar training but took a few guitar lessons at age 16 - mainly fusion.
Everything else is taught by using my ears as only help.
When I grew up there were no such things as TABs so I didn't have any alternatives.
Using nothing but my ears wasn't just good, cause the fingering got wrong at first. But it got right later.
Thanks!

dugless52 3 years ago
I think so too, but I have to much things to do besides playing the guitar right now, so it'll have to wait.
Thanks!

Ehm, no he does not suck! He has feeling, and uses it great in his guitarplaying. Unlike many other guitarists on youtube!!

nice playing man...what spacing did you get for the sd jb pickups? f-spaced or regular spaced? i also have a les paul but i dont know what spacing would be compatible...tnx!
buboyching 3 years ago
Hey, thanks!
Mine are regular, works perfectly for me.
It's a JB in the bridge and a JAZZ in the neck position. Kind of opened up the sound a bit more than the Burstbucker pros did.

Amazing playing and awesome tone with the SD pickups on your les paul =O 5 stars!

Bravo... Very Good my friend... Did you make the backing track?.. Can you send it to me, please? Have a nice day.
xjapansid 3 years ago
Hello and thanks!
No, I did not make the backing track, it's a good one though, perfect for practicing your melodic feeling!
CedricIII 3 years ago
Excellent!!! I find your style of playing very similar to mine. I love to just kick back and play over random backing tracks rather than mainstream tracks. Great feeling and tone without trying to show-off!!! Playing like this is what should inspire others to pick up the instrument. Thanks for sharing your talent.

Great! Thanks!
Yeah, but for me improvising is mostly because I'm to lazy to write stuff... *lol*
But I know what you mean!
I'd love to jam with someone like myself!
Thanks for watching!
