  • GodDAMN that was good.

  • from how long you play dude? that was awesome!

  • @Dust0fNation Thanks man! I've been playing for about 30 years. Hard to say, cause I don't remember exactly, but I think I was seven years old when I first tried the guitar and that was back in 1980...

    Rock on!

  • Id love to know what the backing track is? Could you let me know?

  • jajjaaja, MASTER......

  • @EmilAxelssonMusic Jag har faktiskt aldrig haft någon US strata.

  • I hate this jam track, but your guitar playing is awesome!

  • @Mewo0815 That's great to hear! What a compliment! Thanks man!

  • does exactly what its meant to :)

  • hey nice feeling ,!

    plz chek out my jams

    cheers

  • I LOVE IT!...I LOVE IT!....MORE! MORE! MORE!

  • Very very cool ...

I like your play and your song.

    Beautiful !!! 5 *****

  • does the bridge pickup have a high output?

  • Hey. Du rockar!!!

  • You're a very good guitarist with lot of feeling. Bravo !

  • Thanks!

  • Hey.Where did you get the backing track on this???. krokus65

  • Don't remember...

  • Very Cool...

  • You know what you're doing, good. Thanks for vid.

  • Thanks! You're welcome! :)

  • hey, nice playing dude!

but you better stop drinking beer, you are a real fat chubby guy!

    J A JA JA JA

  • LOL

Yeah, I know, but since that video I lost over 10 kg's of weight! :)

    Thanks!

  • Thanx man!!! All your videos are fabulous!!

  • This is to much for me WoW

  • super cool j'adore

  • again greatness

  • You got everything a guitarist needs:

    the insanity af Zakk wylde

    a stile like david gilmour

and the virtuosity of joe satriani

  • Much too kind words, but I thank you anyway! ;)

  • ÿou are great player and great technique is only one of your great sides. you got the feeling and you know what is it music. Your sound is great(BUT ITS NOT IN THE AMP BUT IN YOU)

  • Thanks a lot! Means alot to me with your comment! Thanks!

  • Very nice playing! Did you make the backing track yourself? Sounds pretty good.

  • Thanks, Rob.

No, I did not make the backing track myself, don't remember where I got it from...

  • Ingen aning faktiskt... tack!

  • haha great vid, awesome playing!

i really like that you are so laid back: )

how do you like the JB for les pauls?

    cheers!

  • Thanks! In comparison with the stock Burstbuckers, the JB had a lot more treble, more of everything actually, but I guess a lot of that is because of the pickup covers on the Burstbuckers...

But I traded that guitar for a Parker Fly Classic which suits my needs much better! :)

  • what scales/modes are you using??? this is very impressive!!

    btw i subscribed!

    please reply!

  • I don't think there are any weird scales involved here, just A minor, A minor pentatonic... Don't know really, I'm not that good at music theory, I just go with the chords you know, sometimes I even don't know what key I'm playing in. I don't mean that I don't know all keys, but I play without thinking about it, I find my way on the fretboard anyway.

    Thanks man!

  • amazing man, beautiful , your skills are high above mine, I wish I will get there too :) Addie

  • Nevermind my e-mail. I read the info about your mod in your description. Great tones. I agree with the sanded neck too.

  • very good =)

  • excellent my friend !!!

  • Thanks! :)

  • that was so good.

  • very cool man!! there is much emotion in your playing

  • Damn! Unbelievable guitar playing! You're one of the best guitarist on youtube in my opinion! Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you very much!

    Take care!

  • This is really one of the best solos I`ve ever heard!! You are a god man!!

    Which guitarists have inspired you!?

  • A lot of different guitarrists, like Lukather, Satriani, Yngwie, John Norum, Albert Lee, The Hellecasters, Larry Carlton, Gary Moore etc. etc.

I like melody a lot and most of the guitar players I listed above play very melodic.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Fredric, I hope that your comfortable and

having some pleasure during this season.

I'm wondering if you have done any more work with the Satchurator, and if you were able to improve the sound it is generating?

Wish you the best buddy, Cheers...Laser~

  • Hey man.

No, I tried it at the rehearsal, but I don't like it... thinking of trading it for a trumpet or something! :D

Maybe all those years with real high gain tube amps did poison my ears, but I don't like stomp box distortion anymore.

Maybe as a little boost in front of the amp, but then there are other pedals that are better suited for that, like my Nobels ODR1-plus.

    Merry christmas!

    / F

  • Hey, that's cool, I played trumpet for a decade. The only effects I had then was a Wah Mute.

Now I'm wanting something like a preamp maybe.

Something to bring out those harmonic overtones and make them ring out loud. Is that what the Nobels ODR1-plus does?...Laser~

  • which pickups do you have

  • why don't you take a look in the info at the right, it's all there. :)

  • you made me wanna give up playin bro...no way in this lifetime will i be able to even come close...

  • Naww... come on... keep it up now, will ya!

    Thanks!

  • Oh my god! i wish i could prce such sounds on my little morgan stratocaster ; ) iive been playing guitar for like a year, and all my friends just shoot like a rocket a ocket past me in skills, while im left in the dust with some weird stuff dinner last week! ; s How did you get so good : P

  • Hey! No need to rush things here...

Take your time, don't play over your abilities too much. Think melody!!

Technique will develop over time and if you focus hard you will grow in knowledge on how to pick the right notes.

Do not envy your friends for their quick development, they may play fast and flashy, but in the end... grandma likes melody before technique, so... relax, learn many different styles, play alot and watch your friends stay in the shred genre while you pick the right notes! :D

  • Haha ; P thank you, would it be the right move to get a private guitar teacher?

  • Yeah, give it a try. If you don't like it, den stop taking lessons.

  • such a waste of amazing feeling and technique! on a top 3 list of the best ballads i know of, this one is first, November Rain comes as a number two, and Sold My Soul on third... amazing how it build up, and you say th BT is boring, it fits to your guitar playing :)

cant believe you're not signed by a record company. :P youre better than Steve Vai ;)

  • Well... I don't know what to say, but I guess a big THANK YOU is the right thing to say here!

  • o and I forgot to say you remind me of david gilmour I knew you looked familiar,,

  • dude IM seriously amazed! your improvisations has an amazing technique and speed but still an tottaly awesome feel and melody love your stuff man keep on rocking...id like to hear a band of yours one day ...(:

  • Thanks. Yeah, I'm working on a band...

    Rock on

    Felix

  • Haha, "okej"! Tack då! :D

  • so, just to make sure, is your jb in the bridge position?

  • Yes it is.

  • I'm so fat in this video, probably around 100 kg.

Now I'm down to 92 and going down! :D

Nice sound in this one, I love ballads!

Too bad I overplay and do all those fast things, but I can't help it - it's so fun to play fast! ;) (ok, not really FAST, but hey, you know what I mean, right?)

  • as long as you don't look like Poppa Chubby...everything is okay ;)

btw. I'm a big fan of yours

    cheers mate!!!

  • you are an outstanding player!!!! glad i found you on youtube!!!

  • Yeah, I'm glad too! Thanks mate! :)

  • great Lea Paul. Im gonna bouy the same. You have 50's neck or 60's?

  • I compared to guitars before I bought this one which is a 60's neck and tonewise I think the 50's neck is a better choice - more wood - more sustain, but playability is more important to me, so I chose the 60's neck and I love it.

I removed the laquer on the backside of the neck to, it was way to sticky before, now it's only oiled and waxed exactly the way that Music Man do it! Highly recommended! :D

  • Faen... Kom borti en knapp her. Husker ikke hva jeg skulle spørre om. Ble forbanna her.

  • Hahaha!! :D

  • Haha..

;) Lite i smyg! Hehe!

  • Just curious Forsman, were you using a pentatonic scale on this one?

  • Yeah, there is some pentatonic stuff in the video, but I tend to mix it all up, so you can't say that I just use this or that scale.

I never think in terms of scales, so... I just play whatever comes into my mind...

    /F

  • Were you playing through the JSX in this video???

  • No, the only video I have on me playing through the JSX is the "Texas Flood"-cover.

I'll try to make another video someday.

    :)

  • Spelar du i något band eller?

  • Fantastic ! I be back !

  • You are very welcome back. Thanks for your comments, feels great! :)

  • Oh my god I look fat on this video. I guess my weight is about 100 kg in this video. Recently I lost some weight so I'm at 92 kg's right now!

I really like this kind of backing tracks! :D

  • hehe.. ere øl du drekker? speller du i no band eller?

  • your taste and feel is outstanding! keep it up brother!

  • Thank you very much! :D

    :)

  • haha tack för tipset:)

  • Ok first of all Cedric, you are a phenomenal player. Secondly, I need advice..I want to coil tap my Epi LP standard plus when i get new pickups.

Could you suggest a suitable set (not necessarily matching) pickups for this? Price is not much of an issue with the pickups. Is it worth doing the coil tap on a LP? My style is mostly modern lead...and your style is a perfect match.

  • Hey, thanks!

Well, in order to coil tap pickups, you need to get pickups with four conductors.

If it's worth it? Well, as long as your playing style isn't depending on having two volume pots and two tones, then you've got nothing to lose. It's no problem to undo the soldering if you know your way with the soldering iron... Schematics are all over the internet, so that won't be an issue either.

I know I won't change my wiring anyway.

    Good luck mate!

    Best regards

    Fredric Forsman, Sweden

    :)

  • ...play what?

  • post a "betcha cant play this" video plz :P

  • dude, you are now officially my favourite youtube guitarist!!!

BTW,i chanced upon you when i was searching to see if anyone else owns a 2005 standard desertburst like me.we have the same axe dude!!!

  • Cool! Thanks!

I have removed the lacquer on the neck, my hand got stuck all the time, especially on stage all sweaty and that. Now I have oil and wax only and it feels very smooth and dry!

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • Great Job! I love improvisations very much! Gr. Richard

  • holy shit...i wish i culd play that good haha nice job dude

  • You can do it! Just listen to the chords and make sure the notes you're playing is within those chords.

It isn't necessary to play fast, most people seem to appreciate tone and melody over speed and technique.

Of course you need technique to control your tone, and speed is fun, but a good melody is really all it takes! Let your fantasy lead the way, and trust your ears!

    Thanks for watching!

    / F

  • the diference betwene guitar stars to room guitar stars is the poblicity, the marketing!

you gotta find a good band, make good shows, get good poblicity, get good markting people to sell you!

    You got something..

  • Thanks, I know what you mean, but I think the "market" is glutted with good guitarists, so the chance of making it as a guitarist these days is very small!

    Nice comment! :D

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • *LOL*

  • Kick Ass Les paul

  • I don't want to sound like a fanatic but if you made a cd of some of these songs I would probably buy it!

    Tackar!

  • awesome man!

  • omg what unknown rock-legend are you? fucking awesome, you got THE feeling, and you can pull of some ultimate speed licks ;) i wanna be the kind of guitarist like you (first vid i've seen of you, but this is fucking awesome!)

  • Its one thing to be able to play good but you have got it when it comes to phrasing. I see people who can play scales well but the phrasing isn't there. I get inspired listening to you play.

  • Thanks!

You know... it's funny that the older I get - phrasing and melody becomes more important than speed and show-off-licks!

It's a great thing to inspire others, and it's inspiring for me to read comments like yours!

Thanks again, you made me very happy! :D

  • No problem man! I can't stop watching this video. Its almost reminiscent of Gary Moore, but I can hear you have developed your own distinct style. Now my favorite guitarist on youtube! Rock on!

  • O my God.. Are you an alien? BRAVISSIMO!!!

how long have you been playing guitar???

    May I konw it,please?

  • Of course. I picked up the guitar for the 1st time in 1980 at age seven, but didn't start practicing until -84 when I was eleven.

I haven't had any formal guitar training but took a few guitar lessons at age 16 - mainly fusion.

Everything else is taught by using my ears as only help.

When I grew up there were no such things as TABs so I didn't have any alternatives.

Using nothing but my ears wasn't just good, cause the fingering got wrong at first. But it got right later.

    Thanks!

  • when i retire thats when i will go out and play for some cash, probably an old blues band

  • you are a true guitarist keep up the good workbut i still think you should do your own creation

  • I think so too, but I have to much things to do besides playing the guitar right now, so it'll have to wait.

    Thanks!

  • wow ,u can drink soda while u play , u still suck

  • No, I don't suck, haven't got a straw! :D

  • Ehm, no he does not suck! He has feeling, and uses it great in his guitarplaying. Unlike many other guitarists on youtube!!

  • Yeah, rock hard - play loud! Unleash the fokkin fury! *lol*

  • nice playing man...what spacing did you get for the sd jb pickups? f-spaced or regular spaced? i also have a les paul but i dont know what spacing would be compatible...tnx!

  • Hey, thanks!

Mine are regular, works perfectly for me.

It's a JB in the bridge and a JAZZ in the neck position. Kind of opened up the sound a bit more than the Burstbucker pros did.

  • Amazing playing and awesome tone with the SD pickups on your les paul =O 5 stars!

  • Gracias!! :)

  • De nada! jaja hablas español? xD Keep rockin' please! \m/

  • very good i liked video.

  • Forsman för fan fixa en ny video! Dra typ nån cool satchlåt eller nåt! I need more videos! :D

  • i like the drink at the begging very cool

    nice vid btw

  • Yeah, I do that all the time, so I don't even think about it when I see it..

Hope you liked the rest of it too? ;)

  • Man, you're awesome, great feel, great speed, all around good player. keep em' comin.

  • Bravo... Very Good my friend... Did you make the backing track?.. Can you send it to me, please? Have a nice day.

  • Hello and thanks!

No, I did not make the backing track, it's a good one though, perfect for practicing your melodic feeling!

  • Excellent!!! I find your style of playing very similar to mine. I love to just kick back and play over random backing tracks rather than mainstream tracks. Great feeling and tone without trying to show-off!!! Playing like this is what should inspire others to pick up the instrument. Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • Great! Thanks!

Yeah, but for me improvising is mostly because I'm to lazy to write stuff... *lol*

But I know what you mean!

I'd love to jam with someone like myself!

    Thanks for watching!

    / Fredric

  • where can i get this BT? can you send my a link or somthing?

  • a lot of feel!!!! good job!!!

  • Thank you very much! :)

  • Hey Fredric, just wanted to say HI, and hope your getting along alright, Talk later....Laser~

  • I wanna know how to split-coil humbuckers...

  • There are a lot of guitar wiring sites on the web, so why don't you google it?

It's not hard to do, but hard to explain in words... ;)

  • ok, thx

  • Very nice

  • wow, very jazzy. Awesome!

  • I got a Les Paul Classic and considering splitting my new pick-ups (seymour duncan alnico II pro). Please help, do you think it is a worthy investment....good sounding and all.

    thanks in adavance
