when fighting the eyegore, you can avoid that 3 blast laser by standing to the side. it makes it really easy to beat him: you just shoot his eye while he's blasting the ground and then shoot him again. he dies in 2 hits.

Well, when I made these, I had a whole lot of sugar, so I was kinda sugar high and didn't bother thinking of an easier way.
