Please note that my book Keynes Hayek: The Clash That Shaped Modern Economics is published by W.W.Norton in October.
Professor John B.Taylor says that: “Nicholas Wapshott brings the Keynes-Hayek fight of the 20th century back to life, making the clash both entertaining and highly relevant for understanding economic crises of the 21st century.”

Peer-reviewed study finds Paul Krugman is the most partisan economist. Krugman was the only economist to "significantly" change his stances for partisan reasons. Krugman has even gone so far as to contradict his own findings to bash Republican politicians.
The peer-reviewed research was published in May 2010 issue of the Econ Journal Watch (EJW), edited by Daniel B. Klein.
Seven Nobel laureates are members of the EJW Advisory Council.
In my view Nobel Prizes have become very policital now. Ever since two war crimnals Menachem Begin and Herny Kissigner had somehow receviced the Nobel Prize Ive become very skepitical about them.

I hate to say it, but Al Jazeera is absolutely obsessed with Jews. Krugman is the only Jewish laureate this year, at least to my knowledge, and of course you are insinuating that he got the prize because of his political clout. Your middle east news is almost constantly focused on palestine/isreal, and while I consider you to be a respectable news group, I think that you have an unhealthy obsession with Jewish political activity that tends to be negatively biased.
We are in a global ECONOMICAL meltdown and you don't think the latest Nobel ECONOMIC price winner is not important? Maybe you are the one who is obsessed with Jews.
I see Krugman as an economist first and a Jew last. Maybe you should try to do the same.
Yeah... That doesn't make any sense. I don't want to sound like a conservative dipshit but if anything Islamic leaders were probably cheering this because they hate Bush even more than we do. That easily trumps the fact that Krugman is jewish.
I remember seeing Paul Krugman on Keith Olbermanns show, all the time. He, in no way seemed impressive or well spoken. Honestly, his being awarded the Nobel Prize is an enormous surprise.

I think the nobel prize is the westrn's prize, not the world's prize. because the prize are elected by westrn.

No one said it should be a world prize. The money came from a westerner, and it is administrated by westerners.
mengwise36 3 years ago
Of course, the prize is Swedish, using Swedish money. What would you expect?

Pretty good,
but I got really annoyed when Prof. Andersen kept repeating "use his status as ...".
But ok, he is a(n) ( assistant*) Professor, not a journalist. He also saved it in the end.
Did the teleprompters got stuck ? ;-)

It's only a surprise to people who are not academically involved in the field of economics, but then how could it possibly not be a surprise?
There is no academic argument for why Krugman should not have been awarded his prize, only a political and an ideological argument.

Being brilliant doesn't neccecerily mean you are well spoken, though I enjoy hearing Krugman talk he really likes his 'ummm's'.
