Seriously, why on Earth would she not sing like this on the X Factor? I start comparing her singing in here and then in the X Factor, and the only reason I can come up with of why she didn't sing as well was that she was trying too hard to be a star, and didn't take care of her voice.

I knew the minute I first saw her that she wasn't going to go very far on the show, I think Simon was infatuated as most music executives are with her looks because they know that sells. There is a fine line between being confident and being cocky, she needs to learn that, and if you are as cocky as Simone, you have to be GREAT, not good and can't forget ALL of the lyrics. Beyonce is extremely confident but look back at her interviews when her career started, she was and is extremely humble.

@SuperDiction remember that singing shows like X factor and American Idol doesn't show every audition. I'm pretty sure she pulled sumthing like this out in the auditions. Simon Knows whats not right and what is.. I think She didn't wanna be stereotyped as some R&B singer which I understand becuz R&B isn't very popular like it was in the early 2000s. Rihanna , Britney Spears, Kelis, Katy Perry, Madonna, or Kylie Minogue audition for a show i'm pretty sure ppl would dobut their talent.

Yes, she can sing! This was really good. What everyone is failing to realize is the judges aren't going off the videos on YouTube, they're going off of her performances on the show and as great as you sing in these videos your performances weren't as great! I just think for right now you should sing more and dance less to show your vocals! Just my personal opinion! But you can blow. I wish you the best with your career!!!!

@MsPslater Because she probably didn't want to be another Melanie. Melanie is the kind of girl who can win X-Factor. She's also the kind of girl that usually doesn't go on to do anything AFTER X-Factor. Because girls like Melanie market themselves JUST as singers. Singers that sing other people's songs and have nothing else to offer. That being said (and before people attack me) I'm a Melanie fan. However, girls like Simone make it in this business. Because she's more than JUST a singer.
