Capoeira was developed in Brazil and had many contributions of African origin, mainly from Angola, with its "Dance of the Giraffe", but also from the Brazilian Indians (the name capoeira comes from tupy language).

Supporters of two distinct styles, Master Bimba and Master Pastinha were crucial to take Capoeira from marginality and turn it "human heritage". They created the methodology for the teaching of Capoeira, its hierarchy, levels, and included acrobatics and other martial arts moves.

i did a spinoff of the first attack shown. what i did was a sweep kick till my feet were behind me. then i did a forward cartwheel. the point of that move is to trip the opponent then slam em with your heels.

These are beginner moves, if you have good control of your body, you'll get them easily. A friend of mine did jiujitsu and learnt a macaco in.. one try :p Aerials are kind of tricky, but they just need a little more effort =)

question about macaco:how do i take my body all way back? i do it some more cartwheel with hand above my head my teacher said it's because i using power but i don't know how to practice it right

You gotta throw your hips to the air! remember to jump with both of your legs together. You can land with both legs at the same time or not!

@onnasa Thank you. Yeah I want to learn capoeira not for fighting at all. I want to use it as a dance! Im just thinking of all the moves and everything. WOW if I can learn these then it will be beautiful. Im truly commited to learning the whole art. Just like you said, its all about having fun. I would someday love to be doing all the moves on a beach while listening to the waves....mmmmm...
