  • It was a neat looking ship. I wouldn't mind a cruise on the SEA DIAMOND myself. I would really like to see some wreck photo's too! All they bring back is 2 close ups of the very twisty hull. Isn't it interesting how she went down upside down.

  • I work for Royal Caribbean cruise lines and I'm going to take out Independence of the Seas, 154,000-ton cruise ship on its maiden voyage in April (world's largest cruise ship!!!) The Sea Diamond will be in our thoughts

  • OMG, when Sea diamond was in sweden, it was a lot more beautiful, not so angular. They should not have change the ship, it was beautiful as it was from the start.

  • Hary same here I was having lunch when that it happened I remember feeling a slight shudder and then sharp list to starboard my coke a cola went all over me and my burger flung on the floor and the stewards helped me cause everything dropped and we all ran to the promenade deck muster stations and well you know the rest:)

  • OK! Here's the deal. I was on the Sea Diamond. The CAPITAN hit a rock that had been on the maps for 1000's of years. THERE WAS NO COMPUTER GLITCH!! AND, he had only sialed to that island 3 times (including the trip when the ship sank). I still have my boarding pass to prove I was on that very nice ship witha VERY stupid capitan.

  • last summer i was working on the small ship wich is followihg Sea Diamond same company. It was a nightmare .Never seen so many pigs dressed as cypriot passengers, we used to work from 12 to 17 hours a day ,first 3 months- 300 $ and the managment treated us like slaves

  • The ship hit on rocks inside the Caldera of Santorini island, because the steering system got out of order. It's not a human error. This route is daily for many ships. The Sea Diamond's captain had driven the vessel 20 times again before it sinks. This cypriot company had other accidents, too.

  • Actually it was built 1986 by Oy Valmet Ab in Helsinki, Finland. Sailed mainly between Finland and Sweden but allso between Finland and Estonia.

    Her lenght was 143 meter, widht 24m and keel was 6m under surface.

    The new ship they have, Birka Paradise, is sailing between Sweden and Åland, and Sweden and Estonia.
