I'm not impressed by Ben Deignan. I think he hides a shitload behind his faux "soulful" vocals and bar chords. Nothing special to me. I wouldn't listen to him on a regular basis.

Then again, I'm just a lackluster performer with a guitar, and Ben seems to be doing pretty well, so maybe I'm just crazy. Oh well, world keeps spinning.

You know, that was actually my first impression as well. I think modulating tone can come off as jazzy but, just like vibrato, can mask a lot of issues. It's easy to fool people this way... of course this doesn't mean Ben can't sing, it's just that I can't tell how good of a pure singer he is b/c of his style. I'm sure he's not bad. The guitar is simple, true, but he seems to be more of a vocalist anyways.
