  • as the second resurrection will be that of the body, at the day of the general judgment.

  • The power of Satan has been very much limited by the passion of Christ: for a thousand years; that is, for the whole time of the New Testament; but especially from the time of the destruction of Babylon or pagan Rome, till the new efforts of Gog and Magog against the church, towards the end of the world. During which time the souls of the martyrs and saints live and reign with Christ in heaven, in the first resurrection, which is that of the soul to the life of glory;

  • What is the pre-trib rapture?

  • @LeoJM777 This is a belief that God's Church will be taken from the earth into heaven before the mark of the beast and most of revelation occurs. So the church will have no part when the the mark of the beast is issued and will escape the tribulation of those days.

  • Thanx man

  • No Problem.

  • The 2nd Advent and the rapture are the same event. This is Doug's point. The 2nd Advent/rapture begins the 1,000 years. During this time, the wicked are dead on the desolated earth, while the righteous resurrected/living changed, will reign with Christ in heaven. This can be called 'Heavenly premillennialism' and is opposed to dispensational, earthly reign premillennialism. Hope this helps :)

  • speak the truth doug

  • Doug Batchelor is preaching against a pre-trib rapture. The rapture is not a new concept. It goes back to 300-400 AD. The debate will go on, but I believe the rapture is Biblical.

  • "The debate will go on, but I believe the rapture is Biblical. "

    Really??? Prove it from scripture.

  • I believe no question should go un answered.

1Thessalonians Ch 4;17 - Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so we shall ever be with the Lord.

Rapture is an english word derived from the Latin word rapio meaning caught up. Many people claim that the bible has errors in translation and the confusion draws from the three different renderings, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. Each rendering in accutuality is correct.

  • I know that the rapture is biblical but because tim3687 seems to be for the pre-trib rapture, I was asking him to prove from scripture that the PRE-trib rapture is biblical...obviously I know from scripture and from revelations from GOD that it is not. Take Care.

  • Oh, I see! Sorry for the misunderstanding. But for what it's worth, i also believe that the rapture will occur during, or a little after tribulation. Why would the period even be called tribulation if no one's belief or faith is being tested. But, there are many people who believe in pre-trib rapture and I think that is wishful thinking.

  • Oh no problem about the misunderstanding...the rapture will occur after the tribulation and to go another step which you may not agree with, the tribulation has been going on since 70AD. It's at its climax now. Be watchful unto prayer. The way many teach the rapture/tribulation including Doug Batchelor is NOT what the scriptures nor the LORD has laid out. Email me. : )

  • Right... Ever since the Roman siege of Jerusalem. The war incited by nero caused the destruction of jerusalem and the split of the 12 tribes, and in my opinion marks the beginning of the tribulation era. I believe that the christians slain with in this period are the ones mentioned in Revelation ch 6;11v. it's comforting that i'm not the only one to share these views.

  • You're better off reading the KJV

  • I love Doug Batchelor, I like David Asserick and Dr. Charles D. Brooks, Also Professor Walter J. Veith.

  • Uh, wait, hold on a second . . . this dude just said that an angel rolled the stone away from Jesus's grave, and a hundred Roman soldiers fell like dead men to the light of the angel. I must've read the New Testament ten times over now, and I have never once seen that.

Can someone fill me in here, please?

  • Here you go Valtor111:

Matthew 28:2-4 "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men."

  • Oh . . . woah! How did I miss that-? . . . wow. Now I see what God was talking about when He mentioned veiling peoples' eyes to certain stuff. I can't believe I overlooked that verse every time. Heh, heh. I'm embarrassed.

Thanks very much, Lysimachus! I owe you one.

  • No problem my friend. I miss verses all the time too! I can read something over and over and over hundreds of times, and still miss something every time, and learn something NEW every single time too! It's amazing just how rich the Word of God is. Just one or two words in the Bible can have a LOT of meaning, and it can be so easy to skip over just a couple of words, so I know what you mean! hehe =)
