I often wonder when some musicians consider the tempo of a piece if they take into consideration the acoustics of the performing space. How does the space help with the performance of the arrangement of composition? Many things to consider.
@pohsiBRD The acoustics of the performance space make wuite a big differance in how a piece should be performed. You were right to wonder about that. In a space that is particularly resonant (where the sound rings for a relatively longer time), it is better to take pieces slower in order to maintain clarity. Taking a piece to fast in a hall with a lot of resonance can cause the ringing of previous notes to overlap slightly with the present notes.
Amazing! I had the distinct honor of having Mrs Angela Batey direct our All-College Choir in Savannah this past weekend, she is one of the best directors in the nation, in my opinion. Truly a privilege to be under her direction.
@Tibbershet I heard some note problems, but for the most part the tenors weren't that bad.The Accapella part can be a little tricky. I haven't heard a choir sing this song this well since I was back in high school; however I'm not completely sold on the added notations at the ending. It almost was too much.
My high school choir did this way better. Actually, listening to this again, everybody but the sopranos mostly is flat! And all you people can thumbs down me, but it's SO TRUE! My ears are acute to the hundredth of a note.
This is probably my favorite piece of choir music that I have ever heard. It is so peaceful, and I just... love it! I could listen to it forever. (: Very amazing choir, by the way.
I was at this concert. Great all around. This is one of my favorite choir songs of all time

@Tibbershet I don't understand what that means : "My ears are acute to the hundredth of a note.". Can someone explain what that means?

It is supposed to be a slower song because of how tender and intense it is. One of my favorites to sing!
