you are correct that you need to calibrarate the rangefinder for each animal you want to hunt. For me, I have one rangefinder calibrated for elk and another one calibrated for deer... that system works for me. The Dead-On happens to be the ONLY bow mounted rangefinder that is adjustable to any animal and any draw length (legal in every state).

Yea, it works fine..... especially when the animal is out a ways from the tree.... out past 30 yards (where you need the range the most)
