  • the really awesome thing about this is the old pc

  • cool rifle

  • i just got my first m91/30 the other day. its one from 1943 and it has a problem when i get ready to bring the bolt down after i cock it, it would just uncock as i bring the bolt down so can anyone tell me whats up with my rifle?

  • @derkthemurk816

the problem is most likely the trigger sear they can get get worn enough to cause the rifle to automatically decock on closing and it's an easy part to replace... remove the stock, unscrew the sear (screw is directly in front of the trigger), remove the trigger pin, remove the trigger and sear, separate sear and trigger, then repeat everything in reverse using the replacement sear

  • wow. one of the few on youtube who know how to properly use a stripper clip.

haha, most people just push down on the top one

  • y would u have this

  • fucking chino at gun show sold me some that he brought back from home and they fucking suck ass. manuel loading for now.

  • Koalas gunna get IT! with this baby!

  • I bought some cheap chinese stripper clips off Amazon about a month ago and they absolutely did not work. They were so tight to get in and the rounds would jam up.

I went on gunbroker and purchased 10 bulgarian factory made ones and they worked smooth.

  • that's exactly what I did. I got all excited because I thought "wow only a buck a piece" I got them in the mail and tried em out. They're rough, poorly built and really stiff. Don't waste your money, buy war-time production strippers.

  • Cheaper Than Dirt also has some original Russian stripper clips - comes in sets of 10. I think they're $15 or so - I ordered from them and all 10 of them were stamped Izhevsk. I can't compare to anything else, but these work fairly well - it definitely takes getting used to loading them and some originals work great others not so great. I timed myself single loading vs clip loading and I think I had 15 sec single load 12 sec clip load. In the heat of battle, 3 seconds could've meant death...

  • 12s? Really? I could do it in maybe 5 seconds. Maybe I should make a video of it for proof.

  • Sorry speed loading is not important to me. I shoot at a gun range - the targets aren't going anywhere. I only timed myself when I first got them so it might or might not be faster. Doesn't really matter though, it's faster than single loading and keeps them together better.

  • Ah, I was wondering how he popped that in there so smoothly. My cheapies aren't that great either but at least I have 20!

  • @iraqtv Depends a lot on the stripper clips. I have some Chinese ones that are so tight they barely feed, but I also have some Polish ones that work smooth as butter.

  • Just got a can of Russian surplus and my stripper clips from cheaperthandirt today. The stripper clips are a rough solution, but still better than loading one by one. Thanks for the trick of holding the top one, gonna have to dig out my empty brass and practice this..

  • and by the way this gun can probly take down a bear! i beleive this gun is stronger then the ak-47. becuz we have an old old shed made of nothin but wood but it went into the wood and though a 2by4 and i dont know if it went into the next wall. i love this weapon its accurate, strong, and can even equip a bonnet.

  • Yep, it is. The AK-47 fires an intermediate cartridge (7.62 X 39 mm) whereas the Nagant fires a full-length rifle cartridge (7.62 X 54). Assault rifles like the AK use less powerful ammunition because most firefights are won not by the stopping power of individual rounds, but volume of fire. Since a weaker cartridge's recoil is easier to control you can put greater volume of fire on target more accurately. The Nagant came around before this discovery...

  • that mosin nagant was around when the military believed in personal marksmen ship and chambered these in big rounds so that 1 hit will take the guy out because 100+ men with mosin nagants still really couldnt fire that fast

  • what?! thats how you do it... i was freakin puttin in the bullets from the top i didnt know there waS SOmething like that. anyways its my farthers.

  • GOT MY M91/30 TODAY W00T

  • where do you get the stripper clips?

  • at a gun show or you can get them at cheaper than dirt, if they have them in stock. They're usually 1 or 2 dollars a piece

  • getting m91/30 on the 14th WOOT!!!!!!

  • Is that a Finn?

  • 1937 Izhevsk 91/30 (Spanish Civil War example)

  • you realize these rifles were used in the mud blood and crud of the battlefield right?

  • @SgtPnkks So ? It's a great partof history.

  • He's using a rifle that is probably at least 60-70 years old, was more than likely used in WW2, not to mention a couple of different wars later on down the line.

I think it'll be fine. Russian engineering demands it.

  • whats the clip type thing on the bottom?

  • its called a magazine.

  • Not quite. A magazine is self contained (box magazine, drum magazine, etc). Strips for the Nagant, Mauser, etc or the en bloc setup on the M1 Garand is called a "clip" because it literally clips the rounds together.

  • Nevermind, didn't see what you were replying to. You were right, pay no attention to me!

  • yeah I know that.

The box under neath the stock.(that black metal box sticking out on the bottom)

Is the magazine. The strip is the clip.

It was just some kid wondering what the magazine was called.

  • My bad, didn't realize which question you were replying to... Mia culpa!

  • Its all cool. :)

  • yeah i just went to the gun show and bought 10 more stripper clips for my mosin of a different kind they work much better than my other ones

  • i wish the stripper clips worked that well on my mosin

  • mosin nagant rules

  • That sound is so sexy

  • love the gun good video keep it up

  • i own a m44 mosin nagant and other guns shoot that gun with out ear plugs i did on accident 3 times HUA ...

  • Do you have to bend the clips in any way because I bought ten clips for my m44 and they fit fine into the notch when they're unloaded, but once I fit the five rounds in it is hard to get the clip in, let alone push them all into the magazine

  • it took me so long to get the clips to actually work, but if you have all teh rounds pointing upward, and then push firmly and confidently on the casing, they slide right in...

  • do you need al license to own a mosin nagant?

  • like every gun you need to have a license but it all depends on were you live

  • this depends greatly on your local laws... for the majority of the united states no... but as it is i don't know anything about the laws in belguim

  • do you know any online source where I can buy cheap surplus ammo for the Mosin Nagant? Because the only ammo I can find for it locally is new and expensive american remington 7.62x54R.

  • Go on Google and search for the-armory.

  • ammunitiontogo(dot)com...ship the same/next day...just dont buy all of them lol ;]

  • @SgtPnkks in america you dont need a license to have the mosin nagant?

    cool

i live in holland and they are realy stupid the only gun art you can have without an license is an airgun

and for a rifle you need a hunt license and weapon license

  • The American's, Russian's, and German's 7.92 or 7.62 were both powerful enough to floor someone even out to 1000+ meters. But what really mattered was the quality of the rifle.

  • Thats why Russias mosin nagant sniper rifle was better than the enfield, mauser, springfield sniper rifles - they just fixed mounts and scopes on the enfield, mauser, springfield snipers - the Russians took time on their sniper rifles, they used high quality wood, they used hand selected bores, and other little details that made their mosin sniper rifles top rate!

  • I'm going to have to seriously disagree with you there. The Soviets were pumping the rifles out by the millions. Q&A checks, at least up until 1943, were non-existent, and the primary focus was to get these rifles to the front lines as quickly as possible. Having said that, the rifle was very well designed and essentially won the Eastern Front of WWII, even though they were hastily built. I'm a proud owner of a Mosin Nagant, but Enfields, Springfields, Garands, and K98s were better rifles.

  • Enfields, Springfields, Garands, and K98s were better made but the mosin still got the job done, but the mosin sniper rifles were better than any other ww2 sniper rifle at the time, what i said below is true, its in Russian documents and Kokalis did research and came up with the same results,Soviets took time and thought into building their snipers and they did do it fast...

PS:please dont get mad are anything,im just stating what i have learned on researching these sniper rifles =D

  • In my opinion, the accuracy really depends on who is holding the rifle....

  • Comrade you are right!

  • exactly, i once seen a man hit a pretzel stick at 50 yards with a daisy bb gun, so i went and bought one to shoot at cats and me or my dad could never hit any

  • @Scharfschutze219 Exactly, unless you get a rifle that is in poor condition and heavily used. Got a dark and pitted bore, with scratches on the crown. I doubt you could hit accurately very far with that, or sight it in properly. Just saying, I know when rifles are more accurate than I am, and I can tell when they aren't as accurate as me.

  • what stripper clips are those? Mines tend not to slide off..

  • in the video the clips used are the brass clips made by ebay user uglycarfan the best repros out there and the only issue is they tend to loosen up after a few uses and bending them back to undo the loosening is hit or miss

i also have some reproduction finnish style clips.. most work fine but some require some minor filing

and then i also have original bulgarian clips which function perfectly every time

  • I dont know... starting to piss me off i have trouble loading mine, the stripper clip never pops up like the one in the video and theres no way my bullets go in that fast, i think i just got crap stripper clips

  • not what he did.. if you look closley, he bumps it outa the way real quickly.. and for them going in easily, i believe becuse he was only using spent rounds for saftey cause he is inside.. i do the same with mine to make sure i am not getting sticky bolt.

  • yeah such a piece of shit that they ARE STILL IN SERVICE IN SOME COUNTRIES hell the Finns are still building sniper rifles on old mosin actions

  • pieces of shit?!!?!? wow you go jump off bridge NOW! these guns are amazing and are some of the BEST guns i have EVER bought

  • go back to your video games the mosin nagant is a fabolous weapon

  • those guns made people win that war dude

  • yeah and their suicidal tactics lol. mosin nagant was one of the most reliable weapons of WW2 besides the german Kar98. functioned EXTREMELY well in harsh conditions. hell, it was made in Russia.

  • Cool yes, crap not so much. for $75 + scope it out shoots most $500 modern rifles. Has the more knock down power than anything being made. It is still been in production for a century as an active duty weapon. If it was crap they would have done something different in 100 years.

  • im just going to throw in my FU as well mosins are great rifles and anybody who says different hasn't shot one

  • The Mosin was the best Rifle during WWII, if you can make a better rifle, go ahead and make it.

  • M1 Garand my friend, even the Mauser was better

  • In how they were made maybe they are better but the mosin is a simple weapon and is easy to maintain which made it soldier friendly!

The mosin nagant sniper rifles were and are better than the mauser, enfield, and springfield sniper rifles!

  • not true, again, the m1 garand was superior due to its semi automatic capabilities and its effective range of 460 meters, the mosin's effective range is 400 meters, sad for a bolt action rifle of the time, the effective range of the k98 mauser was 500 meters and 800+ with optics, the springfield M1903 had an efftive range of 600 yards, without optics, i can tell you from experience, after firing a mosin nagant and firing my mauser k98, the k98 is superior by far if compared between the two

  • Dont forget there is the shooter - i read a book a american wrote about his experiance in ww2,he said there was a german 550 yards away and it took him 8 clips from his M1 to kill the german and he could never do it again.

Vassili Zaitsev using a mosin nagant with iron sights killed 3 Germans at 600 yards and not a miss! The PU scope on the mosin is far better than what the germans or americans had at the time!PS:the mosin is accurate out to 800 meters with iron sights.

  • you can tell me all you want, won't change facts

  • ther's good marksmen and there is bad marksmen compareing a sniper to a regular soldier is not a fair contest

  • note that i do own a Romanian WASR-10, Charles Daly 12 gauge, and 8mm mauser besides that 9mm, funny isn't it?

  • Im sorry ozziemo but the Russian dude is right - the mosin bullet is almost exact to the mauser and springfield and is just as accurate as both of them - i owm 2 mausers 1 mosin,1 m1 garand, and a springfield 1903 and they shoot just as accurate as each other,in some cases the mosin is better for accuracy than the mausers

  • there is no apology needed, u can't defy facts

  • there is no facts - they are opinions - i own these rifles and know from experiance what they can do - mosins are accurate out to 600 yards and more - ww2 regular soldiers could take down a nazi at 700 yards with iron sights with the mosin - I DONT want to here anymore from you - AND I KNOW THE FACTS

  • "there is no facts" "AND I KNOW THE FACTS" lol, you just contradicted yourself, nice one, and yes, there are facts

  • whats the matter u running out of things to say! when you are in the military and know about rifle's and no how accurate they are I will listen to you.until then im telling you what i know from my experiance.Facts are the mosin can hit a man sized target at 900 yards and so can the mauser - ENOUGH SAID - this is rude fighting back and forth on this guys video!!!!!

  • but on your other comment, you said 700, getting your "Facts" mixed up, huh?

  • I said i know for a fact Russian soldiers took down germans at 700 yards with a mosin and iron sights - i said there that the mosin is capable of hitting a man sized target at 900 yards!I know the mauser is better made than the mosin im just saying that they are the same in range and accuracy

  • gettin impatient?

  • the ballistics of military loadings of .30-06, 7.62x54r, and 7.92x57 are damn near identical that said the mosin can keep up with the other bolt action models in the hands of a competent shooter

and 700meters? with the sniper models maybe and this goes for the mauser and springfield as well but the rifles were designed to hit a man sized target at 300meters and most infantry combat during WW2 happened within 200meters or less of course longer range shooting was possible but with iron sights...

  • ... requires an exceptional marksman to have any level of consistent accuracy (read up on Simo Häyhä)

i know it feels patriotic to wave the "if it's not american it's junk" flag but get off the high horse and look at cold hard facts

plus your precious M1 Garand would have failed miserably in the harsh Russian winters (then again all full auto and semi-auto weapons were commonly tossed aside in those conditions as they were very prone to function problems)

  • there is no "if it's not american it's junk" flag, don't be foolish, the bottom line is in the hands of a competent shooter, a mauser is a superior weapon, last time i checked, the mauser is and always has been a weapon originally designed by GERMANS!

  • sorry but most military mausers are no more accurate than a mosin

i've spoken to a german veteran who served on the eastern front... he picked up a mosin and used it for a short time (his own rifle had been damaged) he said it was a good rifle and if not for the issue of ammunition availability limited to what can be taken from dead or captured russians he would have been just fine with using it for the rest of the war

  • i could care less for the opinion of some random german vet, the mauser is much more accurate than the mosin, i own a WWII Mauser, it was my grandfathers, its alot more accurate than the mosin nagant, you can't change history!

  • let me guess you are basing this opinion on a comparison of your one mauser to how many mosins?

i've fired more mausers than i could care to count from more countries than you probably even realize used mausers and i've fired twice as many mosins both russian and finnish

in most cases both are equal... swedish mausers are more accurate than russian mosins but equal to finnish mosins

  • wow ozziemo27, you pretty much just said, screw the person that has the most experience they have no reliability......=P

  • Can anybody here say "TROLL!" Congratulations ozziemo, you accomplished your mission, you're annoying. Now GTFO, get your much-beloved Mauser and go to the range. Put some lead down range, have some fun.

  • SMART people load them that way spend more time shooting less time loading, and that one guy is stupid

THEY ARE SPENT SHELLS!!! NOT DANGEROUS!!!!!!

  • I load mine that way too.

  • So... you bought uglycarfan's stripper clips too, eh?

  • well i thought that when you load you place your palm on the side and push the bullets down with your big finger.

  • that can be done like that (and is the method commonly used with loading rimless cartridges from a stripper) but the method i used works much quicker and actually has the clip pop out like that 97% of the time

  • who loads a rifle like that ?

  • the russians did from the 1890s until sometime in the late 40s early 50s (when they moved to the SKS which loaded in a similar way)

  • Did the Arisaka Type 99 use stripper clips, or did they have to load 'em one by one?

  • Quite the adventurer, arn't you, loading a gun indoors?

  • open your eyes when watching the video... try reading too

  • Loading it with spent cases, no less. Damn that's dangerous... it could go off at any second!

    Pay attention next time...

  • ?? are you joking around?

  • Have you ever heard of sarcasm? Of course I'm fucking joking.

  • sry. i couldnt tell. usually sarcasm is directed to someone.

  • even though that was kinda pointless, it was kinda cool

  • Wow. That is much faster that I can load mine!

  • cool.....i wish i had a mosin

  • They not that expensive I got one for only about $100 at Gander mountain..
