Good idea, I'm always looking for new styles! My hair's blonde, thin, fine, but luckily 36 inches.. I've never cut it though.. Except for trims. How do you keep it from tangling so badly? Maybe mine just tangles because its so fine.. I wish it was thicker.. Your hair is so pretty :)

@PrairieSunrise my hair used to be long like that. I chopped off 20 inches and donated it, and I'm growing it back out. It's to my bottom again, but i miss it going to my knees. Never dyed my hair or anything. keeps it real healthy. :)

anywho, thanks for the vid, i think i'll do this more often in summer . . . (i live in phx, so it's crazy hot for having long hair)

@TaraTheTiger It all depends on how long your braids are. Basically you'll have to give it a whirl. You wont be able to wrap as many times I do, but if you can get one or two wraps in there, it will look lovely.

Your hair is beautifully healthy---I hope to have mine that healthy someday. What do you use? I use apple cider vinegar (because we have hard water), and olive oil; and I use my old shampoo and conditioner once a week.

@xpandaapplex well, the Amish are people who live like people did before technology and are extremely strict about thier christian religion. Therefore it may be very hard to buy them types of clips. You may want to go to shops that specialise in the christian religion or ask at a hairdressers :)

@PrairieSunrise No I'm doing it exactly as the video shows. My friend once got my hair around a stick when it was about 2 feet shorter but I got such a bad headache this is the first time I've used a stick since. It might just take practice.

Even then, average hair only grows 6" per year, so unless your hair grows 8 times as fast as average, or you started from a long length to begin with, you must be kidding around. :)

@missoneday1 Try vitamin E oil on the tips of your hair. It's sticky so you have to wash it out but it will help with breakage. I'm using it to help my hair grow past the small of my back

@Kyara06 They are made smooth and straight, and from steel. They are very gentle on your hair.  You can also purchase them in longer lengths which are needed when you have longer hair. Mine are 3" long.

Hm, I'll have to invest in a hair stick. My hair's about 36 inches long, and since I didn't have a hair stick I used a pencil to see if I could do it, and it actually looked pretty good! A little sloppy, sure, but it wasn't a serious try and I'd never done it before.

Well, micro fiber towels help speed up the drying time a lot. Also, I like to bun my hair with it still damp as it hold much better that way, and it allows the moisture to soak into the hair for a longer amount of time.
