"Do you think that I've never tripped out before? I watched a piece of pizza turn into a lizard from an M. C. Escher painting and crawl across and over the side!"
The universe began in the big bang. Trying to rationalize the unexplainable is retarded. Atheists have the most puniest gods...themselves. i'll pray for you.
Looking for answers is retarded? It's retarded to think a magical fairy being snapped everything into existence with a thought. Believing that retarded nonsense stops you from looking for REAL answers.
Why would you think that atheists believe they're Gods? I think you are confusing worshiping oneself with taking credit for one's own achievements. If I had god-like power I would heal cancer babies without expecting the parents to grovel at my feet.
@ajhrockerboy6 Pray to God to fulfill your wsh to change other people's minds into a way that suits you? Seems rather selfish, and a violation of free will.
After all the dust settles, we have only two choices. Either the universe brought itself into existence, or something outside the universe, an external cause brought it into existence. The problem is how something could brought itself into existence? Isn't possible, therefore the cause must be external. The only thing present was energy. The God of the Bible is described with the same attributes of energy before energy was described. The existence of God is the best explanation. Open your eyes
Society is a good example. What you said works as deffinition, but it's over simplyified.
A society, or a human society, is a group of people related to each other through persistent relations, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or virtual territory, subject to the same political authority.
That's from wiki. I don't think that was a very good comparison.
I agree that everyone should accept that we can't know everything. I still don't get why you believe in a god.
@Zentz29 do you believe in the concept of a soul? as a musician, i rely on my soul for inspiration. of course, there is no "scientific" evidence that a soul is real. but i think a soul is some kind of energy, and energy can never die. it can only be absorbed into another kind of energy. just like how a rock is made up of tiny grains of sand pressed together, i like to think that the christian god is composed of christian souls praying in unison. then there is the deeper god that transcends creed
@noeldivad I don't believe in souls. I believe/know that the energy from dead bodies transfers into other forms of life. Not in any concious way, but more like when a person uses fertilizer in their garden.
I guess I can sum it up like this: I believe that death will be exactly like it was before I was born.
@Zentz29 i can agree with that. just like how a cloud becomes rain becomes a river becomes the ocean and back to clouds again. reincarnation. still, i believe that conscioussness doesn't end with death. i have no proof of this whatsoever, just a gut feeling. sometimes when i would trip, i would get the feeling that i was already dead and just remembering my life. sort of like combining past/present/future. i think dreams and memories are very similar. you should look up DMT; the spirit molecule
@MagnusNyborg what do you know about quantum mechanics? because as i understand it, nobody really knows what the hell makes reality work. the more you think you know, the more questions youll ask, until you realize how much you dont know. hell, even the big bang is just a theory. was that somebody just making shit up cause it felt good? i dont understand why you guys cant accept that there might be a higher conscioussness. not a christians-only jealous god that hates sinners, but the god in you
@noeldivad but god is never part of the discussion, There is no evidence that indicates 'there really must be a god'
Im not claiming there IS NO GOD, i am just saying that unless there is evidence for one, theb there is no reason to believe in one. And making shit up does not count as evidence.
And if all you want is to rename a part of you into god, then there already is such a concept - it is in psychology called an Ego. Soo why do you want a god?
@MagnusNyborg god is the point of this discussion. if youre familiar with ego, what do you know about ego-death? that is what the caller in this video is trying to describe and you dont always need drugs to get there. its a state best described as having no boundary between you and the universe (or GOD). everything is one. the singularity. all matter is energy condensed into a slow vibration, and energy never dies. youre just a small part of humanity, part of earth, part of a galaxy, part of god
@noeldivad Ego in the psychological sense is just an accepted concept. Making shit up does not justify your claims, and is not supported by men who understand this better than you do. If you want to make someone believe, provide evidence. And, you are rambling...
@MagnusNyborg LOL! just an accepted concept huh? well, god in the theological sense is an accepted concept too. i'm not making anything up. i'm just admitting that i come closer to my own divinity when i trip. please find someone who understands ego death better than i do and refutes my argument. otherwise, you're the one that can't justify your claims.
@noeldivad be a dopehead then, it is not my problem. You dont have arguments, you only have have your beliefs, and they are not supported by actual tangible evidence, only by your words.
Speak with yourself, some people do that in insane asylums, and they have as valid claims as you seem to have.
@MagnusNyborg as usual, any attempt at an honest debate on this subject grows into bitter character assassination. someone once asked the dalai lama "if we could find concrete proof that reincarnation doesn't exist, what would you do?" the dalai lama responded "we would throw away the whole concept. but how are you going to prove that it doesn't exist?" and the man had no answer. you my friend, have no answer. even a wrong answer is better than no answer, cause then at least you're looking
@noeldivad but how do you determine what are bad answers and what are good answers? Evidence. And realistic determination. What is more likely, a god to appear before a bronzeage with divine wisdom, or a bronzeage people making stuff up to feel more secure?
@MagnusNyborg every culture has its own interpretation of divinity. sure they probably made it all up. maybe some aliens came and said they were angels, who knows. but youre missing the point. EVERY culture believes in some higher power. nobody gets it completely right but a few came close. then the hypocrites take it over and we have to start again with the basics. don't kill. don't steal. love your family. the only good answers are the ones that work for you. the only evidence i seek is my joy
@noeldivad if it is all made up, why not just stop the religion part, and start having fun?
because religion is a social concept, that includes shunning other people who fail the delimiter. No religion says DO ANYTHING YOU LIKE AND WE WILL ALL BE HAPPY FOREVER. None of them say that. Its usually more like 'THOUGH SHALL KILLETH UNBELIEVERS'
@MagnusNyborg actually satanism has the commandment "do what thou wilt shalt be the whole of law." i think it was aleister crowley that said that. but satanism tends to be more destructive than anything else. taoism on the other hand tells you to trust your own natural instincts above all else. it talks about balance, and redefining your own happiness. and the first line is the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao. and star wars might be made up, but it still has valuable lessons for us.
@noeldivad "satanism tends to be more destructive than anything else"
So far in history, satanism have the backseat of christianity when it comes to war and destruction. And satanism still requires the belief that a god exists, and i dont believe that.
@MagnusNyborg youre confusing satanism with satan worship. satanism is a philosophy that centers around the individual against the masses. much like the angel lucifer that opposed god. an actual satanist (that knows what he's talking about) doesnt believe in god either but they use people's superstitions against them. its a convenient ethos for rebels. i can't defend the fact that christianity is fucked, but i can say that not all christians are. if there is ever an antichrist, it'll be the pope
@noeldivad i am not opposed to people believing what they choose, i am opposed to those who try to impose their beliefs on others without proper evidence.
Good people are good people, regardless of their beliefs.
@MagnusNyborg i knew we had common ground. i hate the hypocritical fundamentalist televangelists just as much as you do. they took a well meaning philosophy of nonviolence and distorted it to wage war against muslims. and the muslims do the same thing to wage war against christians and jews! anyone that tells you what to believe at the point of a gun is evil. god is your own voice in your own head that knows right and wrong. heaven and hell are states of mind and eternity is right now. try LSD
@MagnusNyborg at one point in time, reality was the earth being completely flat and in the center of the universe. i like the theory that adam and eve were chimpanzees and the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge was really a mushroom that made them think in new ways. but i can understand why you wouldn't want to take drugs, so here is an alternative. try an isolation tank. shutting down all of your senses for hours at a time triggers introspective hallucinations without drugs. look it up
@MagnusNyborg the reality is that humanity isn't much more than mold on the side of a rock that spins around an average star in one galaxy out of billions (if not trillions). its all a matter of how you look at it.
@MagnusNyborg reality wouldnt exist without a conscioussness to percieve it. every conscioussness is different so every reality is different. complete concrete laws of the universe dont exist. newton came up with gravity which worked for awhile then einstein did his relativity thing which he claimed could predict every movement in the universe. that was favored by those that believed in god. then hawking proved it wrong with quantum mechanics, which says that nothing is predictable
@MagnusNyborg stephen hawking proved that under extreme gravity on a molecular level, the laws of physics as we know them break down. hows that for reality? i read his book "a brief history of time" and he stated that his work is to "know the mind of god." he doesn't think the big bang theory and creationism are opposed. and this is the guy without whom we wouldn't have these cool computers, or most other electronics.
@noeldivad and is that your evidence for consciousness?
I am right now laughing out loud. You see, you dont _understand_ what he is talking about, he is not saying there is a consciousness, just saying that from currently available evidence there is no telling of any differences right now.
But science tries to establish evidence, whereas you only want to make shit up that feels good. Thats the difference between reality based research, and fantasy based researched.
@MagnusNyborg do you really need science to establish the fact that you possess a consciousness? cause that might explain why this conversation is going nowhere. i won't pretend to know everything about quantum physics, but i do understand more than you give me credit for. you can keep saying that i'm making shit up if you want to, but i'm the one quoting published scientific material. please show me some "reality based research" that can explain why there is no higher consciousness. if you can.
@noeldivad "do you really need science to establish the fact that you possess a consciousness"
No. But i dont make up fantasies about why, and one does need much scientific understanding , to also understand that consciousness comes from the brain.
@MagnusNyborg well then why do you possess a consciousness? is it an accident of evolution? are there any responsibilities that come with it? i am of the belief that consciousness doesn't end with death. oh but i can't prove it, so i'm wrong. how can i prove to you that there is consciousness after death if you can't prove to me that you're consciouss right now? you have a muscle in your soul that is atrophied and you won't acknowledge it. that is your "fantasy." keep hiding from your soul then.
@MagnusNyborg i'm sorry, could you repeat the question? what is it that inevitably happens when life lives long enough? waking up to a higher consciousness? cause i don't think thats always the case. and what do i need to learn about myself? that i'm "making shit up?" truth is, i've made up nothing that i've told you. i got most of my ideas on the relationship between LSD, god, and consciousness from many other sources. please articulate your debate
@noeldivad there is not much difference between making shit up, and accepting shit that others made up. If there was evidence for any of this, then it clearly was not made up.
Can you connect any of your 'ideas' with reality in a way that can be tested, and where the test also eliminates other possibilities?
Considering that several higher primates, and dolphins, shows consciousness should alert you of the possibility that life eventually produces consciousness. it just takes billions of years.
@MagnusNyborg i like to think all life has some level of consciousness. but that dolphin isn't trying to test its own theory of reality to prove that its the best and all others are wrong. i CAN connect all of my ideas to reality, but you would just say its coincidence and means nothing. couldn't possibly be fate. i can not eliminate all other possibilities, nor would i want to. i like the idea of people finding their own answers. but you can't force them on me. i have my own
@noeldivad ofc the dolphin is not competing with humans in total intelligence, but it is really conscious, aware of its own existance, and not only aware of other dolphins, but aware of other species existance. Humans have developed consciousness and existance much further, but every thing points towards this being a natural developement once the braincapacity starts to increase. Computer programs mimicing the human brain, behave in many aspects like the brain - neural nets.
@MagnusNyborg but they still can't make artificial intelligence. yet. i have my doubts that they ever will. but how did humans develop such large brains? there is more similarity in the DNA of a human and a chimpanzee than there is between a mouse and a rat. i still think the theory of monkeys eating mushrooms works for both the theory of evolution and the garden of eden. a chimp tripped out on some psilocybin and saw god. what else could make an animal not flee from fire, but try to utilize it?
@tellnet when did i ever claim i was 91? i'm glad you brought up psychiatry. i heard this really great quote once that went "LSD could be to psychiatry what the telescope is to astronomy." i am not the first to make the connection of LSD, god, and consciousness. in fact, there is a word, entheogens, which pretty much means drugs that may take you to a higher spiritual awakening. but it seems like everyone on this board would say i'm a dope fiend cult leader lol. whatever
@tellnet lol ok you got me on being 91. i must have done that 5 years ago when i made this account. and you're right that i won't be the last to make the connection between entheogens and spiritual awakening. but i'm not talking about cocaine here. how is it acceptable to give kids ritalin, give fat people hydroxycut, and give depressed people prozac (which may risk suicidal behavior), but not allow reasonably educated people to "expand their mind?" a psychiatrist is for sheep in my opinion
What has the legality of a substance got to do with your perception that it;s usage brings you "closer to 'god' " ? - diverting attention to a different aspect of the same subject is a failed avoidance tactic.
And... the word "perception" is important - It is a fool that states that they "make the connection of LSD, god, and consciousness" - It is very probable that you "believe" that shit - but god's existence is highly improbable.
@tellnet i refuse to pay ANYBODY to tell me how to think, priest or psychiatrist. thats what i meant when i said shrinks are for sheep. and yes, perception is a key word. what if everyone started to realize how sadistic society is on a visceral level? the inhumanity of forced government (or religious) indoctrination against people like me from people like you? of course they have to make it illegal. the irony is the FBI were the ones that brought LSD to america, testing it out on soldiers.
@tellnet then don't read them. no one is forcing you to worship god. all i said originally was that i feel a divine presence when i trip. i haven't tripped in over a year, but i'm still just a junkie right? you're not the first person to dismiss my views. call me a lunatic if it makes you feel better, i don't mind. keep telling yourself that those who believe in love and light are stupid. we'll still be here long after you judge us.
@tellnet and there is the contradictory statement. you say you're not judging me and call me stupid immediately afterwards. if you can't see that, no wonder you can't see the works of god. trying to talk about things like the soul to someone like you is akin to describing color to a blind man. but people DO care. you're not the first one on this board to argue with me. if you didn't care, you wouldn't have felt it necessary to shoot down my beliefs.
And by you redefining that statement into him calling you stupid, you acknowledge that you yourself believe you are stupid and that you need to hide this realisation from others. Well duh, we already spotted the signs. Stop making shit up.
@MagnusNyborg i define my own divinity. you guys can call it stupid if you want to, but i don't care. if i was trying to hide my stupid beliefs, why would i have ever commented on this video? personal attacks are the last refuge of a dying argument. even if god is an imaginary voice in my own head, it helps me have peace of mind and understanding and compassion for others. truth is the strongest religion and the truth is that i see god when i trip. and if you don't, well, thats your problem
No, you assert your own divintiy with no real supporting evidence, and that is plain stupid. It is also well known that drugs mess with peoples perception, in exactly the way you describe. Some believe they can fly.
Asserting in that sense = Making shit up. Insane people also assert alot of stuff.
@MagnusNyborg i am well aware of what certain drugs do and i still stand by all of my comments. i haven't tripped in about a year, but i still remember how it felt watching the sun rise over the trees and fields near my home. you will never make me forget it, no matter how much you "assert" that i'm making shit up. i'm not some televangelist pretending to heal sick people. and i'm not a sheep that shows up every sunday morning for roll call. i'm an artist that KNOWS where inspiration comes from
@noeldivad "i'm an artist that KNOWS where inspiration comes from"
Unfortunately for you, stating something in capital letters is not evidence of your claims. And your claims (that drugs give you contact with a universal consciousness) remains unsupported, and with an alternative and much more rational explanation - you where hallucinating.
That makes me believe that yoo are just making shit up as you go along, because it feels good to you. That does not make it TRUE.
@MagnusNyborg there is a book called "the spirit molecule" by rick strassman that goes into great depth on the link between certain drugs and universal consciousness. unfortunately for you, stating that i'm making shit up as i go along doesn't make it true, particularly when i've spoken of this book already. you've become a broken record my friend. rationality can only take you so far. if thats all you have to go on then you're limiting yourself
@noeldivad there are several books about the subject, however just because the books exists does not make the content true. This seems to be the part where you have the most probems. Reality, and how to determine what is true and what is false, and the inbetweens.
Just because they made a bunch of shit up, does not mean that you can continue making shit up.
What convinced you? A rigorous test that made it possible to determine what was the true cause and eliminate other causes, or what?
@MagnusNyborg what convinced me is based in irrationality, so you wouldn't accept it. a feeling like a warm glow that encompasses you and lifts you higher. not really a voice, but a realization that everything is connected. everything is separate too, but its still connected. not making shit up, but understanding why people try to rationalize the unexplainable. rigorously testing whether god will answer your prayers is a waste of time. act for yourself because you are a god and lead by example
@noeldivad your claim lacks evidence. Where is the evidence for that reality would not exist without a consciousness? And i dont mean more unsupported claims, i mean real evidence.
Things yet to discover, do they not yet exist because we havent discovered them yet?
@MagnusNyborg its like that old question; if a tree falls in a forest and no ones around to hear it, did it make a sound? i'm sure you've seen the matrix. if reality is only the things we can see smell hear taste or feel, then its just electrical impulses in your brain. AND our reality isn't even 00.01% of the cosmos. imagine if you could rewire the electricity in your brain. imagine if the REAL stars in the sky are just light flying through space from stars that burned out millions of years ago
All I did was try to get to the bottom of what you believe. All you did was dodge questions & say insane shit. Now you've spammed the shit out of me saying different gods & prophets love me. TROLL
You're fucked in the head buddy. Stop doing so much drugs. Your brain is all fucked up because of it.
I'm still willing to get to the bottom of your insanity, but you're afraid.
Now I have another question. Can you HONESTLY re-read what we've said & call ME the troll?
@Zentz29 sure i can. i'm not afraid to answer any of your questions, and in fact i have answered them all. you just can't understand any of my answers cause you don't want to. or maybe you just can't. its kinda like describing colors to a blind man. i tried to have an honest and open debate with you, and it degenerated into character assassination. just like the conversation in this video. and if you must know, i haven't taken any drugs in quite some time. HALLELUJAH! PRAISE JESUS! I'M SOBER!
@Zentz29 what is society? everyone in general and no one in particular. i admit its not the easiest concept to grasp, but i really do believe its true. eastern religions have been preaching for millennia that we're all one being. my favorite religious text is the tao te ching, because it states that the more you speak of it, the less you understand. maybe thats why i can't help you. my answer to you is that there is no one answer. its a matter of accepting that you can't know everything
i must admit i feel the presence of god every time i trip on LSD. what the caller is trying to say is that the universe itself IS god, that everything in it, including you and me, are but grains of sand in the mountain of creation. it is very possible to feel at one with the universe, even without drugs, and that feels very much like salvation. or enlightenment. its something that is very hard to communicate but bill hicks said it pretty good. the big bang was god waking up. now its your turn.
@marsjacobvolta and i insist that there is no one name for god. if you read the tao te ching written by lao tzu, the first line is "the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao." what he means is that anyone who claims to know the unexplainable is full of shit. jesus christ, muhammed, lao tzu, siddartha buddha, zoroaster, and hare krishna are all preaching the same basic principles, but no one can get it 100% right, because its beyond humanity. but i know god exists because i AM god
@noeldivad So how would you define god? If i define myself as giosjdfnbisjdfb then that is proof that giosjdfnbisjdfb exists... but that would also make it a useless title. So if you're defining god into existence by calling it everything, then bravo. All you've done is castrate the meaning of the label.
@marsjacobvolta labels are totally pointless. "the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao." if you want to call yourself giosjdfnbisjdfb then i would agree that giosjdfnbisjdfb exists if only within your imagination. thats another thing about LSD. you realize just how feeble objective reality is because its all in the mind. start trek isn't real but somebody dreamed it into reality. i define god as the force behind evolution, supernovas, and virtue. but he is also the devil. yin and yang.
@noeldivad Subjective reality is in the mind. Objective reality is not. You don't seem to understand any of what you're talking about. If labels are pointless then every noun we've used has no place in this conversation, and every sentence is meaningless. Why would you even say anything if labels are meaningless? Why not just keep your mouth shut? Clearly we've agreed on what at least some of our words mean so we could have this dialogue. Your definition for god is "totally pointless".
@marsjacobvolta words are only symbols that we use to communicate thought. how can you communicate feeling one with the universe? its impossible, but we try anyway, over and over again, just to be mocked by people like you. i agree that my definition for god is totally pointless because the concept of god is beyond what the human mind can imagine. thats what i'm telling you. i'm not trying to convert you, but i know what i know and your cynical attitude won't change that. lol and jesus loves you
@noeldivad Saying that "the universe is god" is pointless. If the universe IS god, then why bother with the word "god"? Universe works just fine. You're calling ONE thing TWO different words & it's pointless.
All you're doing is trying to make it seem like more than it is with pretty words.
Can you even tell me what "salvation" or "enlightenment" mean to you in a way everyone can understand?
What this caller described is the general description people who do a lot of acid would give.
@Zentz29 i think salvation or enlightenment means accepting that you are god. to quote bob marley, "most people think great god will come from the sky, take away everything and make everybody feel high, but if you know what life is worth, you would look for yours on earth, now you see the light, stand up for your right." i believe that everyone has their own vision of what god is, and that their own imagination makes it true in their own worlds. LSD helps break down mental barriers that bind you
@noeldivad "LSD helps break down mental barriers that bind you"
That's exactly what everyone who does a lot of LSD would say. It makes you think you've found some profound "truth".
You think doing LSD gives you "truth" just like a christians think accepting Jesus gives them "truth".
To quote Matt from this vid: "You're using a lot of buzz words". You're just saying stuff that has no real meaning. You're believing stuff for no good reason...
@Zentz29 i don't really expect you to understand where i'm coming from, because you have obviously never tried acid. so how much can you really know about it? i am not saying that tripping will take you to heaven, because it can take you to hell just as easily. its all a matter of what you want to get out of it. this has no meaning to you because you've closed off your mind, just like a fundamentalist christian that thinks the world was made in 7 days. nothing good can come from drugs right?
@noeldivad I can't fucking count the number of times I've done acid & shrooms. You make the ignorant assumption that I havn't based on what? Do you think I have never tried acid because I don't agree with you?
YOU are the one acting like a fundie christian. I have no problem saying: "I don't know". YOU are the one postulating things you can't possibly know.
YOU are the one claiming to have some "truth", while I ADMIT that I don't know. If you think you KNOW the "truth", you'll never find it.
@Zentz29 lol if you've read any of my comments to marsjacobvolta, then you would have read that no one can possibly know what the divine is. i personally believe its different for everybody. if you really have tripped before, and you didn't feel any kind of oneness with the world, then you really have closed yourself off. like i said, its all a matter of what you're looking for. if you want to believe that everything is some kind of cosmic accident, be my guest. i know better and thats my truth.
"...believe that everything is some kind of cosmic accident", "no one can possibly know what the divine is", "i personally believe its different for everybody"...
You're barley different than a fundie of any religion. You're just saying shit that makes you feel good. You're believing without reason.
Just give me ONE good reason to believe that something can even be "divine". You can't because you're just making it up as you go along.
@Zentz29 why don't you give me a reason to think that life is NOT divine? an exploding star spits out a rock that has water on it, just far enough from the sun so that it doesn't freeze or evaporate, then lightning strikes carbon molecules and they turn into single cell organisms, then they evolve over billions of years into free-thinking intelligent people... for the most part. every part of that sounds divine to me, and it DOES make me feel good. if it makes you feel bad, thats not my problem.
@noeldivad Oh Jesus fucking Christ. Now you're a fundie. You are a fundie of a religion you made up.
You made claims about dinvinity, I asked if you have good reason to believe that, you try to turn it around on me & tell me to prove that life isn't divine.
You fail. You are LITERALLY acting EXACTLY like a fundie christian.
Why can't you admit that you believe this shit simply because it makes you feel good? Why are people like you such cowards when it comes to talk about your beliefs?
@Zentz29 ROFL now i'm a cult leader? this conversation isn't a debate anymore. its a fallacy. i JUST said my beliefs make me feel good. and if i'm such a coward, why am i still defending my philosophy? you've proved that you're nothing more than a troll, and not a very smart one. i seriously doubt you've ever done hallucinogens, and if you have, i recommend DMT. that stuff will knock you on your ass and you WILL see god then. but its all the same to me. some people never learn
@noeldivad You never defended anything. All you've been doing is asserting your beliefs, then, when asked if you have any good reasons to hold them, you say I have to prove them wrong.
Just because I didn't have the same experiences as you when tripping doesn't mean I never did. That's just a stupid thing to even say...
Can you define what you're calling "god"? You've already said that people are god, now you're saying I'll see god if i do DMT. Can you make any sense?
@Zentz29 dude, i'm done with this conversation. we are all one being. you either see it or you don't. god is everything and nothing at the same time, and if you can't grasp that, then this is going nowhere. call me a fundamentalist if it makes you feel better, i don't care. over and out.
@noeldivad cont... Also, can you even come close to a good description of what you mean by "god"? For what possible reason is the word "god" necessary to describe the universe?
Bill Hicks said: "The big bang was god waking up". What does that even mean?
The big bang was the start of the universe expanding. Nothing to do with any kind of consciousness "waking up".
@Zentz29 bill hicks did not say the big bang was god waking up, that was me. what i'm trying to say is that i can NOT come close to a good description of what god is and i think no one can. but that doesn't mean that i don't believe in a higher power, a higher dimension, some kind of intelligent design. i don't believe in some old man in the clouds judging everything you do but i do believe in karma. i believe in evolution. bill hicks believed in the evolution of ideas.
@Zentz29 and the evolution of the idea of god is what i'm going for here. i believe that destiny and free will coexist because we ourselves are divine when we want to be. nothing can oppose god's will right? the popular definition is that he is all powerful and all knowing. he created everything. i think he IS everything, including the devil. heaven + hell are located within the imagination just like everything else. one single entity that we are all part of forever. the singularity. look it up
"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
@meanderband I liked pure liquid [sparingly], not paper or the stuff with chemicals. and shrooms are different depending on the grower and strand, sparing or advisable amounts in the right place and around the right people; otherwise, it can be intense
@nightgrip This guy talked a lot and said absolutely nothing worth hearing. He just muttered goofy non-meaning words and strung them together. He wasn't saying anything, why should they let him talk. Some times I agree that they should let the callers have more rope. But this guy hung himself 10 times over.
its funny how these ignorant atheist people question those that dont know much about scripture.. how come they dont question a experience knowledgge person,,,im sure jesus christ will zipp there mouth...
@lilangel0072 if im going to call these people i have to make sure what im going to say..tyhese people that call dont know much thats why.. these show people always dominate the conversations.. but if a pastor like john mc arthur call im sure these atheis will not know what else to say
@juperoutz1 well they've had ppl from some chhristian talk show call in...they've had a few decent ppl but like i said out of the christian population there aren't that many clever ones (no offence). Call in, then pleeeaaaase kindly direct me to that link (i'm serious).
@lilangel0072 WELL WHY WOULD I WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT SOME THING THAT I ALREADY KNOW...NO MATTER WHAT THESE PEOPLE SAY IMA KEEP BELIEVING IN GOD..AND IF THEY DONT BELIEVE THATS THERE CHOICE BUT THERE NOT GANA FOOL ME...
@juperoutz1 RELAX, shit i dunno what it is about u chrstian nut jobs that get so worked up when ur God is threatened. Well no matter what u say "ima keep believing in" Harry Potter or maybe Spiderman. They both saved the world u know.
@lilangel0072 this show just sells a dour pile of shit outlook on life and religions a superficial impression of life, fucking joke, just like this brainwashed no SOuL show
@JNdigital before i forget, when u said before about them not knowing much of scripture u were wrong. Matt DIlahunty was studying to be a baptist minister, his studies are what caused him to reject religion.
@lilangel0072 and the facts people/ pee pole peep hole convolute and gnarl scripture into religion, probably been poorly translated for control instead of inspiration
@lilangel0072 "originally" scripture derives of celestial observations [stars and Sun/ son and Moon/ Ja] primarily, and's turned into stories of human beings
@JNdigital i've heard of ancient astronomers influencing the authors of the bible...it's also obvious since they didn't know that the sun was also a sat. Doesn't change the fact that Matt still studied the book.
@lilangel0072 "didn't know the sun was also a sat."? I never said matt didn't. I said religion paints a superficial impression of inspiration and that's the model many atheists operate out of
@lilangel0072 ha, that's interesting; ironically the Sun's also what the "ancients" called Set [as in sun set] or Satan and Saturn.
Inspiration to me's simply a healing and then overcoming of the misalignments or wounds or hurt in life, in exchange for correcting course thus having "inspiration" to carry on and aim to find balance and enjoy life
@JNdigital satan and saturn...as far as i know saturn was named after a Roman God. All the planets that were seen at that time were...but cool, that was just a typing error. So what u say is that atheists view all this christian perceived inspiration as fake. It's easy to think that way when u beleive it's not based on anything. There's not that much proof of the biblical stories happening.
@lilangel0072 I hear ya, right on. yes, that's essentially what I'm saying. it is easy to think that when u think it's based on nothing, I agree. it's based on the celestial observations and stories that mirror that [many religious will deny this also]. I gravitate toward UNIversal Inspiration. and these guys, as well as many religion, hits a dead end with me, where I am beyond definition/ limit
@djtripnosys I wasn't trying to prove superstitious dogma, the superficial view of the source/ or good/ god/ the divine that your show and it's viewers see as spirituality. Atheism and theism are 2 extremes on either side of the spectrum, biased and jaded, not centered. The proofs experiential and my experience of your show and it's viewers are similar to a religious extremist, biased peer pressure, believe your own bullshit.

Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 do you believe in the concept of a soul? as a musician, i rely on my soul for inspiration. of course, there is no "scientific" evidence that a soul is real. but i think a soul is some kind of energy, and energy can never die. it can only be absorbed into another kind of energy. just like how a rock is made up of tiny grains of sand pressed together, i like to think that the christian god is composed of christian souls praying in unison. then there is the deeper god that transcends creed
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad I don't believe in souls. I believe/know that the energy from dead bodies transfers into other forms of life. Not in any concious way, but more like when a person uses fertilizer in their garden.
I guess I can sum it up like this: I believe that death will be exactly like it was before I was born.
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 i can agree with that. just like how a cloud becomes rain becomes a river becomes the ocean and back to clouds again. reincarnation. still, i believe that conscioussness doesn't end with death. i have no proof of this whatsoever, just a gut feeling. sometimes when i would trip, i would get the feeling that i was already dead and just remembering my life. sort of like combining past/present/future. i think dreams and memories are very similar. you should look up DMT; the spirit molecule
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad can it be that you are only making shit up that feels good, and forgets to check with reality and how things might actually work?
Because creativity is a known function of the brain.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg what do you know about quantum mechanics? because as i understand it, nobody really knows what the hell makes reality work. the more you think you know, the more questions youll ask, until you realize how much you dont know. hell, even the big bang is just a theory. was that somebody just making shit up cause it felt good? i dont understand why you guys cant accept that there might be a higher conscioussness. not a christians-only jealous god that hates sinners, but the god in you
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad but god is never part of the discussion, There is no evidence that indicates 'there really must be a god'
Im not claiming there IS NO GOD, i am just saying that unless there is evidence for one, theb there is no reason to believe in one. And making shit up does not count as evidence.
And if all you want is to rename a part of you into god, then there already is such a concept - it is in psychology called an Ego. Soo why do you want a god?
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg god is the point of this discussion. if youre familiar with ego, what do you know about ego-death? that is what the caller in this video is trying to describe and you dont always need drugs to get there. its a state best described as having no boundary between you and the universe (or GOD). everything is one. the singularity. all matter is energy condensed into a slow vibration, and energy never dies. youre just a small part of humanity, part of earth, part of a galaxy, part of god
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad Ego in the psychological sense is just an accepted concept. Making shit up does not justify your claims, and is not supported by men who understand this better than you do. If you want to make someone believe, provide evidence. And, you are rambling...
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg LOL! just an accepted concept huh? well, god in the theological sense is an accepted concept too. i'm not making anything up. i'm just admitting that i come closer to my own divinity when i trip. please find someone who understands ego death better than i do and refutes my argument. otherwise, you're the one that can't justify your claims.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad be a dopehead then, it is not my problem. You dont have arguments, you only have have your beliefs, and they are not supported by actual tangible evidence, only by your words.
Speak with yourself, some people do that in insane asylums, and they have as valid claims as you seem to have.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg as usual, any attempt at an honest debate on this subject grows into bitter character assassination. someone once asked the dalai lama "if we could find concrete proof that reincarnation doesn't exist, what would you do?" the dalai lama responded "we would throw away the whole concept. but how are you going to prove that it doesn't exist?" and the man had no answer. you my friend, have no answer. even a wrong answer is better than no answer, cause then at least you're looking
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad but how do you determine what are bad answers and what are good answers? Evidence. And realistic determination. What is more likely, a god to appear before a bronzeage with divine wisdom, or a bronzeage people making stuff up to feel more secure?

@MagnusNyborg every culture has its own interpretation of divinity. sure they probably made it all up. maybe some aliens came and said they were angels, who knows. but youre missing the point. EVERY culture believes in some higher power. nobody gets it completely right but a few came close. then the hypocrites take it over and we have to start again with the basics. don't kill. don't steal. love your family. the only good answers are the ones that work for you. the only evidence i seek is my joy
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad if it is all made up, why not just stop the religion part, and start having fun?
because religion is a social concept, that includes shunning other people who fail the delimiter. No religion says DO ANYTHING YOU LIKE AND WE WILL ALL BE HAPPY FOREVER. None of them say that. Its usually more like 'THOUGH SHALL KILLETH UNBELIEVERS'
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg actually satanism has the commandment "do what thou wilt shalt be the whole of law." i think it was aleister crowley that said that. but satanism tends to be more destructive than anything else. taoism on the other hand tells you to trust your own natural instincts above all else. it talks about balance, and redefining your own happiness. and the first line is the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao. and star wars might be made up, but it still has valuable lessons for us.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad "satanism tends to be more destructive than anything else"
So far in history, satanism have the backseat of christianity when it comes to war and destruction. And satanism still requires the belief that a god exists, and i dont believe that.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg youre confusing satanism with satan worship. satanism is a philosophy that centers around the individual against the masses. much like the angel lucifer that opposed god. an actual satanist (that knows what he's talking about) doesnt believe in god either but they use people's superstitions against them. its a convenient ethos for rebels. i can't defend the fact that christianity is fucked, but i can say that not all christians are. if there is ever an antichrist, it'll be the pope
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad i am not opposed to people believing what they choose, i am opposed to those who try to impose their beliefs on others without proper evidence.
Good people are good people, regardless of their beliefs.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg i knew we had common ground. i hate the hypocritical fundamentalist televangelists just as much as you do. they took a well meaning philosophy of nonviolence and distorted it to wage war against muslims. and the muslims do the same thing to wage war against christians and jews! anyone that tells you what to believe at the point of a gun is evil. god is your own voice in your own head that knows right and wrong. heaven and hell are states of mind and eternity is right now. try LSD
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad im not going to object to the gist of your message, but i am going to object to the last one.
Try reality.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg at one point in time, reality was the earth being completely flat and in the center of the universe. i like the theory that adam and eve were chimpanzees and the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge was really a mushroom that made them think in new ways. but i can understand why you wouldn't want to take drugs, so here is an alternative. try an isolation tank. shutting down all of your senses for hours at a time triggers introspective hallucinations without drugs. look it up
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad i didnt say i wouldnt try LSD, just that you should try reality.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg the reality is that humanity isn't much more than mold on the side of a rock that spins around an average star in one galaxy out of billions (if not trillions). its all a matter of how you look at it.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad and how do you determine what is reality?
By making shit up that feels good?
or, by defining experiments and test in order to verify (or falsify)?
How do you look at that?
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg reality wouldnt exist without a conscioussness to percieve it. every conscioussness is different so every reality is different. complete concrete laws of the universe dont exist. newton came up with gravity which worked for awhile then einstein did his relativity thing which he claimed could predict every movement in the universe. that was favored by those that believed in god. then hawking proved it wrong with quantum mechanics, which says that nothing is predictable
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad so yuo prefer to make shit up, because for you the evidence is in you begin conscious.
Hawking doesnt prove that wich you claim, he is not making shit up like you are.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg stephen hawking proved that under extreme gravity on a molecular level, the laws of physics as we know them break down. hows that for reality? i read his book "a brief history of time" and he stated that his work is to "know the mind of god." he doesn't think the big bang theory and creationism are opposed. and this is the guy without whom we wouldn't have these cool computers, or most other electronics.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad and is that your evidence for consciousness?
I am right now laughing out loud. You see, you dont _understand_ what he is talking about, he is not saying there is a consciousness, just saying that from currently available evidence there is no telling of any differences right now.
But science tries to establish evidence, whereas you only want to make shit up that feels good. Thats the difference between reality based research, and fantasy based researched.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg do you really need science to establish the fact that you possess a consciousness? cause that might explain why this conversation is going nowhere. i won't pretend to know everything about quantum physics, but i do understand more than you give me credit for. you can keep saying that i'm making shit up if you want to, but i'm the one quoting published scientific material. please show me some "reality based research" that can explain why there is no higher consciousness. if you can.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad "do you really need science to establish the fact that you possess a consciousness"
No. But i dont make up fantasies about why, and one does need much scientific understanding , to also understand that consciousness comes from the brain.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg well then why do you possess a consciousness? is it an accident of evolution? are there any responsibilities that come with it? i am of the belief that consciousness doesn't end with death. oh but i can't prove it, so i'm wrong. how can i prove to you that there is consciousness after death if you can't prove to me that you're consciouss right now? you have a muscle in your soul that is atrophied and you won't acknowledge it. that is your "fantasy." keep hiding from your soul then.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad how about: it is more or less inevitable that it wil happen eventually when life lives long enough.
Why would it be any other way?
You again not understanding, says something about yourself that you need to learn...
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg i'm sorry, could you repeat the question? what is it that inevitably happens when life lives long enough? waking up to a higher consciousness? cause i don't think thats always the case. and what do i need to learn about myself? that i'm "making shit up?" truth is, i've made up nothing that i've told you. i got most of my ideas on the relationship between LSD, god, and consciousness from many other sources. please articulate your debate
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad there is not much difference between making shit up, and accepting shit that others made up. If there was evidence for any of this, then it clearly was not made up.
Can you connect any of your 'ideas' with reality in a way that can be tested, and where the test also eliminates other possibilities?
Considering that several higher primates, and dolphins, shows consciousness should alert you of the possibility that life eventually produces consciousness. it just takes billions of years.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg i like to think all life has some level of consciousness. but that dolphin isn't trying to test its own theory of reality to prove that its the best and all others are wrong. i CAN connect all of my ideas to reality, but you would just say its coincidence and means nothing. couldn't possibly be fate. i can not eliminate all other possibilities, nor would i want to. i like the idea of people finding their own answers. but you can't force them on me. i have my own
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad ofc the dolphin is not competing with humans in total intelligence, but it is really conscious, aware of its own existance, and not only aware of other dolphins, but aware of other species existance. Humans have developed consciousness and existance much further, but every thing points towards this being a natural developement once the braincapacity starts to increase. Computer programs mimicing the human brain, behave in many aspects like the brain - neural nets.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg but they still can't make artificial intelligence. yet. i have my doubts that they ever will. but how did humans develop such large brains? there is more similarity in the DNA of a human and a chimpanzee than there is between a mouse and a rat. i still think the theory of monkeys eating mushrooms works for both the theory of evolution and the garden of eden. a chimp tripped out on some psilocybin and saw god. what else could make an animal not flee from fire, but try to utilize it?
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad
Anyone who states:
"i got most of my ideas on the relationship between LSD, god, and consciousness"
... and claims an age of 91.
.... needs just one thing.
- a psychiatrist.
tellnet 2 months ago
@tellnet when did i ever claim i was 91? i'm glad you brought up psychiatry. i heard this really great quote once that went "LSD could be to psychiatry what the telescope is to astronomy." i am not the first to make the connection of LSD, god, and consciousness. in fact, there is a word, entheogens, which pretty much means drugs that may take you to a higher spiritual awakening. but it seems like everyone on this board would say i'm a dope fiend cult leader lol. whatever
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad :
"when did i ever claim i was 91? "
Give up the drugs - your mind is fucked.
Presumably it was your other "consciousness" that CLEARLY states in your YouTube profile that you are 91 !!!!
Ha ha ha ha
"LSD could be to psychiatry what the telescope is to astronomy."
Ha ha ha
"i am not the first to make the connection of LSD, god, and consciousness"
Ha ha - and you will not be the last - there are a myriad of gobs out there with a similar set of Looney Tunics.
Any more jokes ?
tellnet 2 months ago
@tellnet lol ok you got me on being 91. i must have done that 5 years ago when i made this account. and you're right that i won't be the last to make the connection between entheogens and spiritual awakening. but i'm not talking about cocaine here. how is it acceptable to give kids ritalin, give fat people hydroxycut, and give depressed people prozac (which may risk suicidal behavior), but not allow reasonably educated people to "expand their mind?" a psychiatrist is for sheep in my opinion
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad
Your mind is fucked with drugs - again.
What has the legality of a substance got to do with your perception that it;s usage brings you "closer to 'god' " ? - diverting attention to a different aspect of the same subject is a failed avoidance tactic.
And... the word "perception" is important - It is a fool that states that they "make the connection of LSD, god, and consciousness" - It is very probable that you "believe" that shit - but god's existence is highly improbable.
tellnet 2 months ago
@noeldivad
And....
"a psychiatrist is for sheep in my opinion"
What does that mean ??
That you are a sheep perhaps.
(no surprise there - given your thusfar stated beliefs)
tellnet 2 months ago
@noeldivad
An entheogen is a substance that heightens the experiences previously gleaned from irrational beliefs.
IE. shit in - shit out.
A psychiatrist can rationalise misconceived notions as a basis for rehabilitation.
IE. shit out - sense in.
Claiming that drugs heighten spirituality serves only to advertise one's lunacy.
Claiming that drugs inhibit rationalisation - is correct.
tellnet 2 months ago
@tellnet i refuse to pay ANYBODY to tell me how to think, priest or psychiatrist. thats what i meant when i said shrinks are for sheep. and yes, perception is a key word. what if everyone started to realize how sadistic society is on a visceral level? the inhumanity of forced government (or religious) indoctrination against people like me from people like you? of course they have to make it illegal. the irony is the FBI were the ones that brought LSD to america, testing it out on soldiers.
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad
Off at a tangent - again.
Give up the drugs - you might concentrate better.
Not interested in your ramblings.
tellnet 2 months ago
@tellnet then don't read them. no one is forcing you to worship god. all i said originally was that i feel a divine presence when i trip. i haven't tripped in over a year, but i'm still just a junkie right? you're not the first person to dismiss my views. call me a lunatic if it makes you feel better, i don't mind. keep telling yourself that those who believe in love and light are stupid. we'll still be here long after you judge us.

tellnet 2 months ago
@tellnet and there is the contradictory statement. you say you're not judging me and call me stupid immediately afterwards. if you can't see that, no wonder you can't see the works of god. trying to talk about things like the soul to someone like you is akin to describing color to a blind man. but people DO care. you're not the first one on this board to argue with me. if you didn't care, you wouldn't have felt it necessary to shoot down my beliefs.

You really are dumb.
Saying that "You define your own stupidity" is NOT judging YOU - it is an OBSERVATION of your own perception.
Duhhhhhhh.
However, you may consider the first statement here as a "judgement" (You really are dumb)
"Works of god" - no such thing - given that there is ZERO evidence for the existence of such a being,
Attributing imaginary traits to an insubstantiable being is more nonsense.
Praise be to the All Might Be Magic Man.
tellnet 2 months ago
@noeldivad he didnt call you stupid, he said:
"You define your own stupidity"
And by you redefining that statement into him calling you stupid, you acknowledge that you yourself believe you are stupid and that you need to hide this realisation from others. Well duh, we already spotted the signs. Stop making shit up.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg i define my own divinity. you guys can call it stupid if you want to, but i don't care. if i was trying to hide my stupid beliefs, why would i have ever commented on this video? personal attacks are the last refuge of a dying argument. even if god is an imaginary voice in my own head, it helps me have peace of mind and understanding and compassion for others. truth is the strongest religion and the truth is that i see god when i trip. and if you don't, well, thats your problem
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad "i define my own divinity"
No, you assert your own divintiy with no real supporting evidence, and that is plain stupid. It is also well known that drugs mess with peoples perception, in exactly the way you describe. Some believe they can fly.
Asserting in that sense = Making shit up. Insane people also assert alot of stuff.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg i am well aware of what certain drugs do and i still stand by all of my comments. i haven't tripped in about a year, but i still remember how it felt watching the sun rise over the trees and fields near my home. you will never make me forget it, no matter how much you "assert" that i'm making shit up. i'm not some televangelist pretending to heal sick people. and i'm not a sheep that shows up every sunday morning for roll call. i'm an artist that KNOWS where inspiration comes from
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad "i'm an artist that KNOWS where inspiration comes from"
Unfortunately for you, stating something in capital letters is not evidence of your claims. And your claims (that drugs give you contact with a universal consciousness) remains unsupported, and with an alternative and much more rational explanation - you where hallucinating.
That makes me believe that yoo are just making shit up as you go along, because it feels good to you. That does not make it TRUE.
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg there is a book called "the spirit molecule" by rick strassman that goes into great depth on the link between certain drugs and universal consciousness. unfortunately for you, stating that i'm making shit up as i go along doesn't make it true, particularly when i've spoken of this book already. you've become a broken record my friend. rationality can only take you so far. if thats all you have to go on then you're limiting yourself
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad there are several books about the subject, however just because the books exists does not make the content true. This seems to be the part where you have the most probems. Reality, and how to determine what is true and what is false, and the inbetweens.
Just because they made a bunch of shit up, does not mean that you can continue making shit up.
What convinced you? A rigorous test that made it possible to determine what was the true cause and eliminate other causes, or what?
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg what convinced me is based in irrationality, so you wouldn't accept it. a feeling like a warm glow that encompasses you and lifts you higher. not really a voice, but a realization that everything is connected. everything is separate too, but its still connected. not making shit up, but understanding why people try to rationalize the unexplainable. rigorously testing whether god will answer your prayers is a waste of time. act for yourself because you are a god and lead by example
noeldivad 2 months ago
@noeldivad Yeah, we know you'll still be here. You'll still be just another burned out pothead who will never be taken seriously.

@noeldivad your claim lacks evidence. Where is the evidence for that reality would not exist without a consciousness? And i dont mean more unsupported claims, i mean real evidence.
Things yet to discover, do they not yet exist because we havent discovered them yet?
MagnusNyborg 2 months ago
@MagnusNyborg its like that old question; if a tree falls in a forest and no ones around to hear it, did it make a sound? i'm sure you've seen the matrix. if reality is only the things we can see smell hear taste or feel, then its just electrical impulses in your brain. AND our reality isn't even 00.01% of the cosmos. imagine if you could rewire the electricity in your brain. imagine if the REAL stars in the sky are just light flying through space from stars that burned out millions of years ago

I'M SOBER!

@Zentz29 what is society? everyone in general and no one in particular. i admit its not the easiest concept to grasp, but i really do believe its true. eastern religions have been preaching for millennia that we're all one being. my favorite religious text is the tao te ching, because it states that the more you speak of it, the less you understand. maybe thats why i can't help you. my answer to you is that there is no one answer. its a matter of accepting that you can't know everything

i must admit i feel the presence of god every time i trip on LSD. what the caller is trying to say is that the universe itself IS god, that everything in it, including you and me, are but grains of sand in the mountain of creation. it is very possible to feel at one with the universe, even without drugs, and that feels very much like salvation. or enlightenment. its something that is very hard to communicate but bill hicks said it pretty good. the big bang was god waking up. now its your turn.
noeldivad 5 months ago
@noeldivad " the universe itself IS god" - The most common response you'll hear to that is something like "we already have a name for the universe"
marsjacobvolta 4 months ago
@marsjacobvolta and i insist that there is no one name for god. if you read the tao te ching written by lao tzu, the first line is "the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao." what he means is that anyone who claims to know the unexplainable is full of shit. jesus christ, muhammed, lao tzu, siddartha buddha, zoroaster, and hare krishna are all preaching the same basic principles, but no one can get it 100% right, because its beyond humanity. but i know god exists because i AM god
noeldivad 4 months ago
@noeldivad So how would you define god? If i define myself as giosjdfnbisjdfb then that is proof that giosjdfnbisjdfb exists... but that would also make it a useless title. So if you're defining god into existence by calling it everything, then bravo. All you've done is castrate the meaning of the label.
marsjacobvolta 4 months ago
@marsjacobvolta labels are totally pointless. "the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao." if you want to call yourself giosjdfnbisjdfb then i would agree that giosjdfnbisjdfb exists if only within your imagination. thats another thing about LSD. you realize just how feeble objective reality is because its all in the mind. start trek isn't real but somebody dreamed it into reality. i define god as the force behind evolution, supernovas, and virtue. but he is also the devil. yin and yang.
noeldivad 4 months ago
@noeldivad Subjective reality is in the mind. Objective reality is not. You don't seem to understand any of what you're talking about. If labels are pointless then every noun we've used has no place in this conversation, and every sentence is meaningless. Why would you even say anything if labels are meaningless? Why not just keep your mouth shut? Clearly we've agreed on what at least some of our words mean so we could have this dialogue. Your definition for god is "totally pointless".
marsjacobvolta 4 months ago
@marsjacobvolta words are only symbols that we use to communicate thought. how can you communicate feeling one with the universe? its impossible, but we try anyway, over and over again, just to be mocked by people like you. i agree that my definition for god is totally pointless because the concept of god is beyond what the human mind can imagine. thats what i'm telling you. i'm not trying to convert you, but i know what i know and your cynical attitude won't change that. lol and jesus loves you
noeldivad 4 months ago
@noeldivad Saying that "the universe is god" is pointless. If the universe IS god, then why bother with the word "god"? Universe works just fine. You're calling ONE thing TWO different words & it's pointless.
All you're doing is trying to make it seem like more than it is with pretty words.
Can you even tell me what "salvation" or "enlightenment" mean to you in a way everyone can understand?
What this caller described is the general description people who do a lot of acid would give.
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 i think salvation or enlightenment means accepting that you are god. to quote bob marley, "most people think great god will come from the sky, take away everything and make everybody feel high, but if you know what life is worth, you would look for yours on earth, now you see the light, stand up for your right." i believe that everyone has their own vision of what god is, and that their own imagination makes it true in their own worlds. LSD helps break down mental barriers that bind you
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad "LSD helps break down mental barriers that bind you"
That's exactly what everyone who does a lot of LSD would say. It makes you think you've found some profound "truth".
You think doing LSD gives you "truth" just like a christians think accepting Jesus gives them "truth".
To quote Matt from this vid: "You're using a lot of buzz words". You're just saying stuff that has no real meaning. You're believing stuff for no good reason...
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 i don't really expect you to understand where i'm coming from, because you have obviously never tried acid. so how much can you really know about it? i am not saying that tripping will take you to heaven, because it can take you to hell just as easily. its all a matter of what you want to get out of it. this has no meaning to you because you've closed off your mind, just like a fundamentalist christian that thinks the world was made in 7 days. nothing good can come from drugs right?
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad I can't fucking count the number of times I've done acid & shrooms. You make the ignorant assumption that I havn't based on what? Do you think I have never tried acid because I don't agree with you?
YOU are the one acting like a fundie christian. I have no problem saying: "I don't know". YOU are the one postulating things you can't possibly know.
YOU are the one claiming to have some "truth", while I ADMIT that I don't know. If you think you KNOW the "truth", you'll never find it.
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 lol if you've read any of my comments to marsjacobvolta, then you would have read that no one can possibly know what the divine is. i personally believe its different for everybody. if you really have tripped before, and you didn't feel any kind of oneness with the world, then you really have closed yourself off. like i said, its all a matter of what you're looking for. if you want to believe that everything is some kind of cosmic accident, be my guest. i know better and thats my truth.
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad You're talking exactly like a fundie.
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 why don't you give me a reason to think that life is NOT divine? an exploding star spits out a rock that has water on it, just far enough from the sun so that it doesn't freeze or evaporate, then lightning strikes carbon molecules and they turn into single cell organisms, then they evolve over billions of years into free-thinking intelligent people... for the most part. every part of that sounds divine to me, and it DOES make me feel good. if it makes you feel bad, thats not my problem.
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad Oh Jesus fucking Christ. Now you're a fundie. You are a fundie of a religion you made up.
You made claims about dinvinity, I asked if you have good reason to believe that, you try to turn it around on me & tell me to prove that life isn't divine.
You fail. You are LITERALLY acting EXACTLY like a fundie christian.
Why can't you admit that you believe this shit simply because it makes you feel good? Why are people like you such cowards when it comes to talk about your beliefs?
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 ROFL now i'm a cult leader? this conversation isn't a debate anymore. its a fallacy. i JUST said my beliefs make me feel good. and if i'm such a coward, why am i still defending my philosophy? you've proved that you're nothing more than a troll, and not a very smart one. i seriously doubt you've ever done hallucinogens, and if you have, i recommend DMT. that stuff will knock you on your ass and you WILL see god then. but its all the same to me. some people never learn
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad You never defended anything. All you've been doing is asserting your beliefs, then, when asked if you have any good reasons to hold them, you say I have to prove them wrong.
Just because I didn't have the same experiences as you when tripping doesn't mean I never did. That's just a stupid thing to even say...
Can you define what you're calling "god"? You've already said that people are god, now you're saying I'll see god if i do DMT. Can you make any sense?
Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 dude, i'm done with this conversation. we are all one being. you either see it or you don't. god is everything and nothing at the same time, and if you can't grasp that, then this is going nowhere. call me a fundamentalist if it makes you feel better, i don't care. over and out.
noeldivad 3 months ago
@noeldivad You're done with this conversation because you know you can't explain what you believe...
You're a drug induced moron, end of story.
"We are all one being"...How do you know? "you either see it or you don't"...you're a moron.
"god is everything and nothing at the same time" You are to fucking high (or stupid) to realize that what you said doesn't make sense.
I asked you for reason, you gave me IGNORANT gibberish. You ar a moron. Fundie...Grow up, retard.

Zentz29 3 months ago
@Zentz29 bill hicks did not say the big bang was god waking up, that was me. what i'm trying to say is that i can NOT come close to a good description of what god is and i think no one can. but that doesn't mean that i don't believe in a higher power, a higher dimension, some kind of intelligent design. i don't believe in some old man in the clouds judging everything you do but i do believe in karma. i believe in evolution. bill hicks believed in the evolution of ideas.
noeldivad 3 months ago
@Zentz29 and the evolution of the idea of god is what i'm going for here. i believe that destiny and free will coexist because we ourselves are divine when we want to be. nothing can oppose god's will right? the popular definition is that he is all powerful and all knowing. he created everything. i think he IS everything, including the devil. heaven + hell are located within the imagination just like everything else. one single entity that we are all part of forever. the singularity. look it up
noeldivad 3 months ago
"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
Bill Hicks said it better lol

@JNdigital before i forget, when u said before about them not knowing much of scripture u were wrong. Matt DIlahunty was studying to be a baptist minister, his studies are what caused him to reject religion.
lilangel0072 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 I didn't say that and I am aware, it was probably some girl
JNdigital 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 and the facts people/ pee pole peep hole convolute and gnarl scripture into religion, probably been poorly translated for control instead of inspiration
JNdigital 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 "originally" scripture derives of celestial observations [stars and Sun/ son and Moon/ Ja] primarily, and's turned into stories of human beings
JNdigital 6 months ago
@JNdigital i've heard of ancient astronomers influencing the authors of the bible...it's also obvious since they didn't know that the sun was also a sat. Doesn't change the fact that Matt still studied the book.
lilangel0072 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 "didn't know the sun was also a sat."? I never said matt didn't. I said religion paints a superficial impression of inspiration and that's the model many atheists operate out of
JNdigital 6 months ago
@JNdigital my bad i meant "star". Well i'm not an atheist so i wouldn't know. And i never implied that u said that. What inspiration?
lilangel0072 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 ha, that's interesting; ironically the Sun's also what the "ancients" called Set [as in sun set] or Satan and Saturn.
Inspiration to me's simply a healing and then overcoming of the misalignments or wounds or hurt in life, in exchange for correcting course thus having "inspiration" to carry on and aim to find balance and enjoy life
JNdigital 6 months ago
@JNdigital satan and saturn...as far as i know saturn was named after a Roman God. All the planets that were seen at that time were...but cool, that was just a typing error. So what u say is that atheists view all this christian perceived inspiration as fake. It's easy to think that way when u beleive it's not based on anything. There's not that much proof of the biblical stories happening.
lilangel0072 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 I hear ya, right on. yes, that's essentially what I'm saying. it is easy to think that when u think it's based on nothing, I agree. it's based on the celestial observations and stories that mirror that [many religious will deny this also]. I gravitate toward UNIversal Inspiration. and these guys, as well as many religion, hits a dead end with me, where I am beyond definition/ limit
JNdigital 6 months ago
@lilangel0072 no proof. None. And well put sir.
