This is hard white wheat that I was grinding. You can buy wheat at natural or bulk foods stores like Whole Foods. In my area (MidWest), you can even buy bags of wheat at Walmart. There are lots of online sources, too, but shipping can be high. Ask around in your area about joining a food co-op. United Natural Foods (unfi. com), dutchvalleyfoods. com, and azurestandard. com are all popular companies that deliver bulk orders to co-op groups.
This is the BEST review of the Family Grain Mill, especially in comparison to the Nutrimill. Thank you! Also, it correctly states the time that it takes to grind the wheat berries by hand. In the advertisements, they always say that it takes about 4 minutes per cup, but in reality, it really takes 10 minutes per cup. I thought I was doing something wrong- so thank you for the demonstration. And now I think I'll go and get the Bosch Universal Plus with the the attachment for the FGM.
