  • Yes, if Kone made hydraulics again, just like Otis, Schindler, and ThyssenKrupp, they should have holeless and roped hydraulic, with biodegradeable fluid, and I'm cool with that.

  • I'm with ThyssenKrupp on saving the Hydraulic Elevator. Using Biodegradable oil w/ Roped/Holeless Hydraulic is the way to go!

  • That's correct.

  • Sounds like it was low on oil when it was leveling at 6.

  • Yes, that's because the low rise MRL elevators serve 6 floors, whereas the mid rise series serve 7-20 floors.

  • No, they are still working on the east elevators, and then they will work on the wast elevators. So I'm thinking they will be done around early or so of 2010.

  • are they done modernizing yet?

  • Yes, but it would have been REALLY amazing if it served 8 floors. But this is still a HIGHdraulic elevator indeed.

  • This elevator serves 7 floors, not 8

  • No, this has an Otis power unit that sounds very like a Montgomery elevator.

  • Wasn't Esco always owned by Otis or when did Esco get bought out by Otis

  • I think Esco was an elevator company all by itself, and then just went under. It was not owned or bought out by Otis.

  • no, Esco was a hydraulic division of Otis, and then otis just got rid of the esco name but kept making elevators that were esco-style

  • Very interesting, and now Otis has another hydraulic division called CemcoLift.

  • are you sure this is otis since the power unit is montgomery you said

  • Thanks, and they are nice, since the white button with black halo is the most popular color combination with elevator buttons.

  • Those are nice buttons! They look like mine but opposite. The halo is black not white.

  • They sure are, and they are the GAL JetPlus fixtures, which rival to the Innovation Universal, Epco Circleline, Monitor Controls Monitor Series, and PTL Performer fixtures.

  • Cool fixtures!

  • Well, level G is the Basement, but is at ground level, which is odd.

  • If G Is Ground Where Is The Basement?

  • G stands for Ground floor.

  • What Does G Stand For?

  • Yes, I do think it's more practical and efficient to have a single 2 car elevator bank serve all 8 floors in the building. Also, Schindler and Otis used to make 200 FPM hydraulics, and Kone has stopped making them, because of environmental concerns.

  • Ya think so even if it means installing ThyssenKrupp Synergies?

  • Yes, or even Otis Gen2's, Kone Monospaces, or Schindler 400A elevators.

  • if they went with ThyssenKrupp Synergy, it would probably be the M series

  • But don't you think it's more efficent to put 2 elevators that serve all 8 floors in the center of the parking structure?

  • ThyssenKrupp is now the only elevator company that makes 200FPM hydraulics.

  • No. There are 2 separate sets:

    West-Levels G-6.

    East-Levels 1-7.

  • Is there an elevator that serves ALL 8?

  • Yes, this particular set serves Levels 1 & G.

  • Yes, those are the West elevators that go to floors G-6.

  • Isn't this the west elevator?

  • Yes, I used my better quality Canon SD-1000 Camera, which has a more crisp video quality.

  • In your most recent 3 videos, why has your voice changed? Sorry I'm getting a bit personal. Camera, background noise etc...?

  • Yes, except this is an Esco (Otis) elevator, and is about 20-25 years old.

  • Is it sort of like the video gluse filmed at Ereckson Middle School?

  • Can you do the other elevator?

  • Yes, I have done the other elevators already.

  • Is there an elevator that serves 1 AND G?

  • Notice how it got a little loud at the end of going up. That is a sign it needs some more hydraulic fluid. We have 40 elevators on our campus here and a few of them get like that when they are low on fluid. Also with being loud they will bounce and shake some too. Scary if you dont know what is going on.

  • Yes, it may need some fluid, but it could be an old elevator, even if it's a little over 20 years old, which isn't much.

  • A floor is missing!

  • The White Level 7 is served by the east elevators.

  • I don't know, but I think they were introduced to overcome environmental & reliability problems of holed hydraulic elevators.

  • When's roped holeless hydraulic introduced?

  • Neat!
