  • Woah...wot happened to video clip with the band. Apple ??

  • MUSHY MUSHY MUSHY BUT I LIKE IT! :))

  • This music is terrific,John learnt his trade the hard way.Always respected as a man and as a musician. This was his finest hour. And don't Kathi McDonald's vocals send shivers down the spine.

  • This was popular in Australia in the early 80s.

  • @GeneralLee72

To right matey, this was certianly one of my favourites.

  • Wonderful song, wonderful guy, we were friends during the 1960-80's, sadly missed xx

  • The best two voices ever. Does anyone have the video clip PLEASE,send me;

    aussielrm@bigpond.com

    Thanks Les,

  • saw this live in Vancouver many years ago....blew me away, best version evah!!

  • Love it! A fave from long ago...and a love you don't find everyday!

  • our song

  • Most of the time original versions are best. But this arrangement & vocal chemistry is spellbinding. Kathi McDonald--wow. Never met her (some of my lucky relatives have worked with her). If I had a nut -instead of being one- I'd give at least one to have an ounce of her gift. Her voice repeatedly soars like angel overhead & then tumbles back to earth with grace & grit & yet never upstages Baldry's rich vocal but instead envelopes it with a magical, musical, feminine mist. Sigh.

  • @jacquesjunk have always loved this one and it is certainly the very best version of this song. I used to have video tape but lost it some years ago. Just brilliant.

  • Best. Version. Ever.

  • Better than the righteous brothers

  • Who's the woman singer?

  • @Paulasmusicplay - Kathi McDonald

  • @Paulasmusicplay Kathi McDonald

  • The No 1 version.

  • LOVE John!!! BEST VERSION EVER!

  • Sometimes it's hard to tell who is singing backup for who lol Anyways: BEST VERSON, they sound so good together!!

  • What a wonderful song and beautifully played and sung.

  • I first saw these 2 in 1979, playing at the Misty Moon in Halifax, N.S. This song stayed with me all this time, never being replaced by the others who TRIED to sing it this way. I see and hear them in the Moon that night when I close my eyes and crank this up. My neighbours 3 stories up hear and FEEL my music when I play these Classic R&B Tunes...hehehe...I'm 52 and FUCKING DEAF!!! lol

  • Yo tengo ese video con Katy Mc.Donald, lo grabé de DISCO CLUB, pero está en VHS

  • Absolutely the BEST- a song from an album that was a huge favorite of mine.

  • This song is on the cd Baldry's Out & also on A Thrill's A Thrill The Canadian Years. I was able to buy both CDs on amazon

  • I LOVE this version but I can't find it either... I found it once on 45 for my dad but he lost it in one of his moves! Would really like this on CD if anyone can email it...

  • I remember watching the video of this song (live I believe) of the two and the band sometime late 1980 or early 1981... Yes !!! there is a video, an original video, but I've looked everywhere and can't find it. In Lima, Peru it was Gerardo Manuel who had a show every night at 7 pm (Disco Club), and had this one. Wish he would upload it to YouTube, You'd just love, and Kathi looked so young.

  • @H842027 I copied a vieo clip of them, but don't know how to copy it to disc.

  • definitely best version of this song

  • I have looked for this for years, used to have it on a 45. Kathi MacDonald makes the song

  • Sorry for coming in so soon again but I remember watching the video clip many years ago and being totally captivated by the whole scene, thank you so much for posting this it's just the best!!!!!!!!!

  • Yep this it, beautifullllllllll.

  • Best version ever! Had the video to this on VHS. Will have to sort through them to find it & upload

  • @Tamerlinemagnum Please upload it, it's the best!!!

  • saw then do this live at some club in Vancouver many years ago...always loved their version. Good memories :)

  • No offense to the Righteous Brothers, but this is far and away the best version of this song.

  • This is a very good version. In this song Long John Baldry duets with Kathi McDonald.

  • this song was huge in australia, number #2 in 1980.i remember it so well, and always loved it.i was 8 when it came out,and it got stacks of airplay here.this was a much bigger hit in oz than the original, and this is the version many of us aussies remember. i love to crank this up .its brilliant !

  • Yeh this is a really good version

  • Only one take right AMAZING

  • I crank this up big time. You can feel the passion...

  • thank you so much. when he was in toronto, we drove to

(in a volks bug- with lj in the front seat!!!) a party.

    such a sweet man

  • I'm sorry, but damn i wish barry white did a duet with a woman and covered this song! Would have been beautiful!

  • @InformationMinister

Wouldn't it now? The singing similarities of Barry White and LJB are exact. Barry White could have done this easily.

  • this is totally the best version...love it

  • Love this song......and the perfect singers with it...I envy those that have seen these two perform this song...ty

  • Yes, definitely the best version!

  • Absolutely LOVE this version :)

  • Definitely the best version. I had the privilege of seeing him perform this live in the late 70's when he opened for the Beach Boys at the Granstand in Toronto. I had no idea he wasn't the first to perform it.

No matter. He owns it now......

  • @shriner62 that sounds like one of the best concerts ever really makes me wish I was alive then to see it

  • I agree with you completely. In fact I have been looking for this version for quite some time. Thanx for the post. Bravo!
