Furthermore, the success of South American clubs such as Santos, Peñarol and Boca Juniors in world club championships suggest that "tactics and defense" were perhaps a bit better than the rest of the world in Pelé's era. There still hasn´t been anyone close to the level of talent of Pelé or Maradona in this era of football.

Stop the heck of bejaded analysis. I can easily tell you many things Pele did as a footballer which Maradona never even dare to do. When you want to compare anything to the Best, you have to take perfection into consideration as per making alluding reference for posterity. I.e, your freaky Maradona cann't use both legs, which Pele used perfectly; also your Maradona can not use his head to score at any given position of play, which Pele excelled in.
