Lexus IS Convertible @ Paris Auto Show

Once again, Lexus drops the ball by making another unsafe convertible with no pop-up roll bars. They didn't even give it side impact air bags! And don't bother telling me that convertibles rarely roll-over or don't really need them pop-up roll bars. I guess Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW & VW spend all that money on safety research & put roll bars on their convertibles for no reason at all, right? Totally irresponsible company that doesn't give a shit about the lives of the people who buy their cars.

i agree with most of the post. lexus design is so boring. its characterless it might as well be a camry. however i disagree with darza mercedes IS NOT LUXURIOUS! The line has turn to shit! mercedes isn't what it used to be. the c-lines are pathetic. with that said im debating whether lexus is 250 or bmw 3 series...what would you get?

The deciding factor will ultimately be based on how much Lexus prices this convertible at. I like the 328i hardtop convertible look better... But the lexus still looks good. (ie. i would be happy to drive both. They are both better than Volvo's C70. I'd be interested in learning more about the trunk space as well.

Anyway... it is an exciting time to buy a car!

I am a Lexus IS F owner... I will say this Lexus Quailty and interior is the best in the market for what they compete for... mind you they have been the #1 Luxury car brand for 8 years in a row? Why is that... because of the interior and Quailty... Bmw Interior is Shit! the Navi system is by far horrible! touch screen is the way togo...

IS 350 C. Can't get much better than this, unless u can drop 75g's for the top corvette. I hear the 350 will be around 50g. Hard top C, 0 to 60 in 4.9, and air conditioning on the lower back and balls.

Lexus done a great job with the new IS250/350-C. I wonder if the IS-FC iteration would come along? Now that would be great!!! Fastest 3-piece hardtop not suprising. Lexus has always been leader in both technology/reliability/luxury where other euro makers can't match. Especially BMW where Poor reliablity as well as awefull design makes me sick to the stomach. Lexus simply better in every catergories.

Not bad. Design is still boring, but the Lexus quality will make this sell like hotcakes. In terms of performance and handling. Lexus cant touch BMW. In terms of Luxury, could be close to Mercedes.

The current body style of BMW 7 series is first introduced back in 2002. The new lexus LS460 didn't come out until 2007. I always thought the other way around.

Unfortunately ADsFiinesT your claims that the 7 looks like the Ls is completely wrong. Put the 5 series next to the 7 and you will see what im talkin about. BMW's have ALWAYS had the L shape rear lights on their 7 series. Dont believe me? Go find out yourself. The L shape rear lights has taken may que's from the CS concept and the 5 series. Anyone recommending a BMW 3 series must have never owned one. After 49000 (just as warranty runs out) they fall apart and of course everything is sealed from Germany so you spend a small fortune trying to maintain. Having owned a Lexus and a BMW 3 I must say the Lexus never gave me one bit of trouble, the 3 was nothing but trouble.
