This thing is a piece of junk. It won't play discs from other regions because Sony "respects the privacy" of movie producers, studios, etc more than they respect THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS. I will never, ever, EVER buy another Sony product. I WILL, however, steal as many of their digital products as possible online and freely distribute them until I feel I've got my money's worth for what I paid for this piece of shit.
I hope the Sony execs in Tokyo all get cancer from nuclear radiation and die.
if you wanted you can move the s-air system into another room and it will work iv done it many times for partys im really happy with this system it never distorts music!
Can someone help?? I have a Sharp Aquos LC-52E77UN LCD with a Sony STR-KS370 Home Theatre System installed. When changing channels a message appears for about 5 seconds that says: An incompatible audio signal has been received. Check output device settings. What's the cause?? Thanks!!
It's simply an amplifier that controls the surround sound speakers. You put an adapter on the main unit, then one on the S-Air amplifier. The surround sound speakers run directly from the amplifier, they're not connected to the main unit. How far away the S-air amplifier can be from the main unit and still work, I'm not sure because my amplifier is in front of the main unit.
@highwater03 do you have to use the s-air? we are going to get a new tv and theater system. we are getting the theater system now (as our current one is broken and it mutes randomly. also it was bought in the 90s), and get the new tv this fall (which is when google tv is going to come pre-installed on sony tvs. we are going to get one). our current tv is also from the 90s and obviously doesn't have s-air. so, do you have to use it?
@highwater03 hey do u still have it.i won't to buy it but im still not sure i herd the sound at the store and i love it but the thing i didn't like was wireless i think it going to mess up the sound so tell me how is it. and some one said you need to buy a separate device that is 150.00 dollors just for the wireless reviser.....well u have it and tell me the good and bad about it....if i get a good review back ill buy im ready for it :)
Yes I do. The wireless you're talking about is the amplifier that controls the surround speakers. Its not wireless, its just not connected directly to the main unit. No, the wireless receiver comes with the package. A must have for anyone especially with an HD television! It has movie mode, auto mode, and music mode!
Cool. Just don't wake the neighbors. This thing brings the thump! Also, I have it running directly to my HD tv, so anything that is played on the tv comes out on the surround sound! Satellite tv, PS3, and blu ray! Oh, almost forgot. The main unit also upscales DVDs to 1080P!
@highwater03 whats the differents between this Sony DAV-HDX589W and sony DAV-HDX287/WC is it the same do u know it looks the same just called different ?

@darkdylaner
Not really. It's only for the two surround sound speakers. You need it for those two speakers, but nothing more.
