There is no main "singing" song for MGS4. The main theme song for MGS4 is called "Old Snake," but it's instrumental. Try searching "The Boss Tribute Old Snake Version"

Not the "second" hardest setting, The Boss Extreme *is* the hardest setting. But it's really not a problem to beat it in under 5 hours when you skip the cut-scenes. The cut-scenes are what take up so much time, the actual gameplay portion of the game is very short. Once you know what path to take without being seen or having to kill, you just move straight from point A to piont B. It's as simple as that. You only occasionally have to stop to wait for someone to look away or whatever.
Stealth Camo and the Bandana (infinite ammo) count as "Special Items." You cannot use Special Items when going for the Big Boss Emblem. You'll see the category in the end-game stat screen, where it tells you your total time, total kills, total Alerts and stuff, it'll say
I'm not exactly sure about which section you're asking, because during the Beast form fight with Crying Wolf for example, you cannot be spotted, but then during the Beast form fight with Screaming Mantis it's different. The Beauty forms of the fights don't count, so basically you should be able to tell if it's an Alert because the timer will start at the top of the screen if it is. I hope that helps, sorry that I can't think of how word it better.
In all the boss fights. I wonder if it counts if i get spotted by for exampel: Raging raven cause that´s the only section where there´s an alert sound when she sees you but there´s no alert timer.

Well, even without the Corpse Camo you can lie down and hold a button (Trianlge if I recall correctly) to relax and "play dead," but with the Corpe Camo equipped, whenever you do that the Alert instantly ends.

Oh, the time is not an issue, trust me. As long as you skip all of the cut-scenes and get right down to business with the gameplay, beating it in under 5 hours is truly easier than it sounds. I was a little worried about it too, and I beat it in 3 hours 13 minutes (with video proof) on my first attempt. I was suprised. Just remember that pasuing the game counts as time, so if you have to stop playing for a while just save and quit instead of pausing.
thats a great time, i've done speed runs on the easyer modes using stelth and bandana, running everywere stopping for nothing skipping all sceens and saving 2 reload instead of pausing like u said and still only got around that time lol, and i know mgs well so its not like i dont know what im doing . i think i might try big boss ex tomorrow then, cheers for the reply.

u know i just got the BBE today and i got caught and died so many times and the reason i got it was because every time i reached a check point i saved... then wen i died or got an alert i would exit and then load that file up and it will put me where i saved before died or got caught

Sure, there was those moments where I wanted to rip someone's head off, but the sense of gratification after that was immense.

I'm trying to get all the emblems just to get this song. I still have stupid ones like chicken and leopard that I need to get, I already got my big boss. The chicken emblem as a joke is fine, but getting the leopard, spider, etc. is a boring waste of time
Yeah, you have to play through at least 8 times to get all 40 Emblems, but you can get about 13 at once when you do the Chicken run, which is the most annoying since you have to play for at least 35 hours. I got to the point where I'd just get home from work, cut the game on, then turn the TV off, leave the house and stuff, and then save and cut the game off before going to bed. I did that for a whole week.
Man nice tips and tricks to do the Big Boss Run! Thats true the hardest part of the game (BBR) its the bike chase! it took me ages to complete! but i did it! hahaha the first time i did the BBR i did it in 4:57:34! now i have a record of 2:50:47 and the 40 emblems! i hate the chicken emblem by the way! =D hahaha man when i earn that song it was like: YES!! Well first of all it really helps a lot to have the Solar Gun, since it's non-lethal and the ammo is free (as long as the sun is out) and one charged shot knocks an opponent out. The second biggest tip is just to save often so if you die or get an Alert, you can reset and it's like it never happened. The saving costs you some time, but if you skip every single cutscene you should be fine. I did it in 3:13:33 (got a vid of the end screen up for proof) and the time was never an issue.
So basically, the time you don't have to worry about, and if know the layouts of the areas well, you should never run out of tranq ammo if you're using the Solar Gun often, so the No Kills shouldn't be much of an issue. The main thing is No Alerts and surviving without health items, which basically boils down to trial and error when you have a recent save to fall back on. The hardest part in my opinion was the bike chase in Act 3. I died a LOT on that one, because you can't use health items.
can someone explain something to me? how can solidus be the one who is the corpse, when raiden killed him? and apparently, if it was solidus who snake killed in zanzibar, why is he alive in number 2? if someone could clear this up for me, i'd be very grateful
Snake fought (and thought he killed) Big Boss in Zanzibar. Solidus is Snake's age since he, Solid Snake, and Liquid were all part of the Les Enfants Terribles project, all cloned from Big Boss.
Raiden did technically kill Solidus in MGS2, but they kept him alive in a vegetative state, and that's the corpse in MGS4.

Solidus was a perfect clone of Big Boss. Both Solid Snake and Liquid were inferior genetically to Solidus. Solidus looked older and he could access the system bcause he was technically an exact replica of Big Boss, unlike his brothers.
Actually it kinda is. In MGS4 you can stand next to anything for a second, and your camo will automatically pick it up, and then you can save it and switch to it at any time. I found a mossy area in Act 2 and made my own camo like that.
Sorry, I don't remember exactly. It was somewhere after the first villa. I think it was in an area that you climb up to and there was a cross-hatched terrace kind of thing.
If you can, then this is the first I've heard about it and I have no idea how. I don't want to say that I'm 100% sure that you can't, but I'm pretty sure that it's not a feature in MGS4. If you do happen to find out otherwise, please let me know, but I don't have my hopes up. I'm sure we'd all know about it if you could.
I did it too, and believe me it's worth it for the patriot gun and that song! It actually never got frustrating to get the big boss metal like MGS3. Those are my 2 favorite games of all time!

Yeah, it's totally James Bond, and deliberately so. I didn't like it the first time I heard it (after completing the Virtuous Mission in MGS3), but it kinda grew on me.
A few weeks. I did it in 10 playthroughs, but you can do it in as few as 8. The most annoying one is the Chicken, which requires you to ake at least 35 hours in a single playthrough. For a week I'd just turn the game on after work and not even play it, then just run thru a checkpoint & save and cut it off at night...
I waited and did the Big Boss Emblem run on my 9th playthrough. I finished in 3:13:33 (I've got a video of my game clear screen). It didn't take long altogether. The hardest part for me was Act 3 at the bike scene. Act 1 wasn't very bad.
They were both pretty easy on the BBE run, because on Act 4 you don't really have to worry about not killing anyone, since they're all robots. And Act 5 only has the one spot at the beginning where you have to worry about not getting Alerts, and after that it's just normal.

You can make custom camos by letting the OctoCamo change to a pettern and then saving it. I think I picked this one up somewhere in Act 2.

I'm trying to get all the emblems just to get this song. I still have stupid ones like chicken and leopard that I need to get, I already got my big boss. The chicken emblem as a joke is fine, but getting the leopard, spider, etc. is a boring waste of time

Yeah, you have to play through at least 8 times to get all 40 Emblems, but you can get about 13 at once when you do the Chicken run, which is the most annoying since you have to play for at least 35 hours. I got to the point where I'd just get home from work, cut the game on, then turn the TV off, leave the house and stuff, and then save and cut the game off before going to bed. I did that for a whole week.

Man nice tips and tricks to do the Big Boss Run! Thats true the hardest part of the game (BBR) its the bike chase! it took me ages to complete! but i did it! hahaha the first time i did the BBR i did it in 4:57:34! now i have a record of 2:50:47 and the 40 emblems! i hate the chicken emblem by the way! =D hahaha man when i earn that song it was like: YES!! Well first of all it really helps a lot to have the Solar Gun, since it's non-lethal and the ammo is free (as long as the sun is out) and one charged shot knocks an opponent out. The second biggest tip is just to save often so if you die or get an Alert, you can reset and it's like it never happened. The saving costs you some time, but if you skip every single cutscene you should be fine. I did it in 3:13:33 (got a vid of the end screen up for proof) and the time was never an issue.

So basically, the time you don't have to worry about, and if know the layouts of the areas well, you should never run out of tranq ammo if you're using the Solar Gun often, so the No Kills shouldn't be much of an issue. The main thing is No Alerts and surviving without health items, which basically boils down to trial and error when you have a recent save to fall back on. The hardest part in my opinion was the bike chase in Act 3. I died a LOT on that one, because you can't use health items.

can someone explain something to me? how can solidus be the one who is the corpse, when raiden killed him? and apparently, if it was solidus who snake killed in zanzibar, why is he alive in number 2? if someone could clear this up for me, i'd be very grateful

Snake fought (and thought he killed) Big Boss in Zanzibar. Solidus is Snake's age since he, Solid Snake, and Liquid were all part of the Les Enfants Terribles project, all cloned from Big Boss.
Raiden did technically kill Solidus in MGS2, but they kept him alive in a vegetative state, and that's the corpse in MGS4.

thanks mate, but i just have a few mor questions: You say solidus is snake's age, but why does he look much older? and if solidus was the corpse liquid used to activate the system and not big boss's, why did it work?

Solidus was a perfect clone of Big Boss. Both Solid Snake and Liquid were inferior genetically to Solidus. Solidus looked older and he could access the system bcause he was technically an exact replica of Big Boss, unlike his brothers.

they put it as big boss face because when big bosses body was apparently lost at sea it was soliduses, thats why they call this big boss camo.
but olbviously at the end big boss is alive.
i wanted to be able to run around as big boss though woulda been awesome

That's called the Big Boss face camo. You get it for earning the Big Boss Emblem.

Actually it kinda is. In MGS4 you can stand next to anything for a second, and your camo will automatically pick it up, and then you can save it and switch to it at any time. I found a mossy area in Act 2 and made my own camo like that.

If you can, then this is the first I've heard about it and I have no idea how. I don't want to say that I'm 100% sure that you can't, but I'm pretty sure that it's not a feature in MGS4. If you do happen to find out otherwise, please let me know, but I don't have my hopes up. I'm sure we'd all know about it if you could.

I did it too, and believe me it's worth it for the patriot gun and that song! It actually never got frustrating to get the big boss metal like MGS3. Those are my 2 favorite games of all time!

Yeah, that's one of the effects of the song :) It also makes your aim steadier, reduces stress, and I think it increases the power of non-lethal weapons also...

A few weeks. I did it in 10 playthroughs, but you can do it in as few as 8. The most annoying one is the Chicken, which requires you to ake at least 35 hours in a single playthrough. For a week I'd just turn the game on after work and not even play it, then just run thru a checkpoint & save and cut it off at night...

I waited and did the Big Boss Emblem run on my 9th playthrough. I finished in 3:13:33 (I've got a video of my game clear screen). It didn't take long altogether. The hardest part for me was Act 3 at the bike scene. Act 1 wasn't very bad.

They were both pretty easy on the BBE run, because on Act 4 you don't really have to worry about not killing anyone, since they're all robots. And Act 5 only has the one spot at the beginning where you have to worry about not getting Alerts, and after that it's just normal.
