The ink is priced lower because there is very little ink in the container, This is a piece of JUNK. I have never had to call support for a printer except this one. Kodak says buy ink direct from them because it may be dried out, No other manufacturer seems to require that to make their cartridges work. Ink evaporates in the printer then the dried ink clogs the heads.

I have this printer and it is going in a dumpster this weekend, it is quite possibly the worst piece of crap I have ever owned. Last cartridge only lasted 6 pages, Ink is not cheap when you are constantly replacing cartridges. Support is only out of India and hard to understand, they read from a screen so don't waste your time. Kodak was a great company once, now they have stooped to producing garbage.
I have 40 years experience as a pro printer and I wouldn't take another EK printer free.

We don't buy kodak products anymore. Printheads are junk. Ink might be cheap but the printheads are not.

These new printers are so cheaply made you will be replacing it way before you save ink money. I am returning mine. And the INDIA customer service is so frustrating to say the least! Not to mention no one to help you at corporate head quarters. No thanks! You have lost a customer for life!

I got one of these, but the tray where you put paper fell out. Does anyone know how to put it back in? It won't just slide in.

Their cheap, for the basic model (5100) is only $99 including 2 cartridges.
