  • I left an old eclipse pro and an old blade 3 in the shed for 1 month and the eclipse pro became alot duller than the blade 3

  • Great review,im getting one :) Can you turn the numbers to new positions to even out wear?

  • @freddiemjames - yes mate :)

  • i love winmau but i have never tried unicorn but it will take allot to make me prefer unicorn

  • just ordered mine,...cant wait!!

  • playin dart wit my frnd last on a eclips pro but i gave a 9 darter nd to 20 segmen wa kull of whit holes

  • ive got a blade3 not bad but still get few bounce outs,blade4 bound to be better

  • I have purchased a Blade 4 dartboard & I have been practicing & I did not have any bounce outs, this board will be used at the Winmau World Masters in a few weeks time.

  • Good throwin man

  • how thick is the board?

  • @double16dotcom

    Hi there,

One of my mates recently offered my a blade 4 dartboard from winmau,

I realy need a new one, the one I'm using right now is already 5 years old.

He said it only costs 40 euros, cheap as hell I'd think...

My question to you is: Do think it will be a real blade 4 or a fake one???

Please answer as soon as posible.

    Best wishes from Holland!!!

  • @ttremcott - it will be a real one mate. Winmau is a massive international company and they ship hundreds of thousands of boards all over the world.

    Cheers

    \Neil

  • @ttremcott Real. Quite good board. I recently bought it too and so far so good.

  • Thanks Neil I got the eclipse pro in the end

  • Mate which do you think is better eclipse pro or blade 4 I can't chose? please reply

  • @WillisTheRuler1 - both good boards. I would choose on price.

  • @WillisTheRuler1 I didn't like the Eclipse Pro. I returned the first one because it looked like shit. The second one is ok but wears out really fast. IMHO Winmaus are better quality

  • @IceCrusherchris - agreed - you can't go wrong mate

  • One of the local pubs has been going through the older Blade III's in about six months and its latest replacement, a Blade 3 only two months old, already has its spider deforming and starting to come out of the sisal. I'm looking forward to checking out the Blade 4. My team pub uses Eclipse Pros exclusively and I have yet to see a bent or misshapen wire. At home I use a Bandit aka Bull'sAdvtge and while its wires are very thin, I'm not so sure about its long-term durability in a pub environment.

  • Blade 3 lasts longer

  • I am very bad for that. I dont rotate them at all until the treble is starting to look shot....

  • How often do you find you have to rotate your board mate >?

  • Got mine yesterday, after reading mixed reviews i wanted a Blade 3, but Argos were sold out last week and just got the 4's in at E8 more, have to say im very happy so far. Ive played around 3 hours and yet to av to a bounceout which seemed to be a big concern. I noticed at least two that pinged the wire dead on but embedded in to the side, they were coming back at me on my older board.

  • hi mate, what are you using to mount your board on? i alwasy have issues putting my board up it spins etc have you done any tutorial vid's or can i suggest one for your next one :)

  • @eltel84 - the case you can see is one that I made years ago. The back is 12mm MDF and the normal mounting bracket is screwed into this. I then covered the backing with cork tiles - more for the look than anything else. The board is stopped from spinning by 3 wedges. I use the cheapo plastic door wedge things that you can buyu from a pound shop :)

  • @double16dotcom Top tip im gonna get some tommorow ,also gonna pick up a Blade 4 saw Argos have it for 19.99 sounds a right bargain.

Also just joined your forums looks a good active site

  • @eltel84 - cheers mate. As for the site - well I suppose nearly 3000 happy members cant be wrong eh? :)

  • I see this is on sale for £25 - that a good deal?

Looking to update my very old Masters board.

  • @UBIB1972 If you are going to buy a new dartboard ,

I would recomend buying a PDC Unicorn Eclipse Pro with the finest wiring in the world.

Its a bit cheaper. If you want a good deal for a dartboard. Try dartscorner.co.uk.

  • bought the blade 4 today, cant wait to play on it when it arrives!

  • haha iv jus orderd that is it good?

    nice video:)!

  • cant choose between this or eclipse pro :(

i wud rather the PDC than BDO so mite choose Eclipse pro

  • @CHUCKL1DD3LL if you practice alot go for the blade it will last alot longer.

  • Yes mate - I do use different trebles and move the board round, but I end up destroying them all. My boards look seriously mank after a while.

  • I found on BDODARTS.COM

Double and Treble dimensions to be; - for conventional wire boards, measured inside to inside = 8.0mm +/- 0.2mm - for boards manufactured with strip material measured apex to apex = 9.6mm +/- 0.2mm

So this dartboard construction is bad (wrong) sorry for my english, but I believe that you understand my intentions

or Rules are changes and BDO dosn't change their documents??

  • @kazekgp - well I am no expert on this, but I suspect that the actual treble and double area is exactly the same size as its always been, its just that the wires cover less of the board because they are som much thinner - hence the increase on visible sisal in the doubles and trebles area....

  • It's about time the BDO Matched the PDC's thin wires, i bet the the BDO players boost there average dramatically in the world championship in January.

  • It feels similar to the Blade 111 for hardness - maybe a tiny bit harder. The bulls board started to soften up for me a lot over time which this one doesnt seem to be doing - lasting well so far

  • is the board a bit softer than the bulls advantage?

  • Cheers

  • Are the Blade 4 wires still blade shaped like the Blade 3? I understand they're thinner, but I haven't seen a close up photo of these board's wires so I can't tell if the wires are blade shaped or flat like the Advantage II.

  • @ihatepickles - yes mate they are still blade shaped but thinner to start with....

  • is there any chance of a video of your throwing action? very interested to see ur stance etc :)

  • If you look at the masters of darts video of the Cotgrave competition that I have favourited, you will find me at 1.47 practising next to Jabba.

  • @double16dotcom - I would also like to see a small video of your throwing action and stance. The competition video was nice but only 4 seconds.

  • @double16dotcom - I would also like to see a small video of your throwing action and stance. The competition video was nice but only 4 seconds.

  • @KilkennyDevil - to be honest mate - I have no problem with being in front of the camera when you can only see my hands, but the thought of standing there for people to see the horror show that is my throw scares me to death!! lol

  • @double16dotcom Would you think this is better than the unicorn eclipse pro dartboard because my blade 3 can't really stand my very sharp darts and the treble 20 on it is messed up.

  • @eduard007best - It doesn't matter what board I use, eventually I destroy the trebles. Nothing lasts forever. However having said that, the blade 4 that I have is taking a lot of hammer with no visible wear....

  • @eduard007best Pull the number ring off of the board and turn it so that the new treble 20 is in good, or at least better condition. This should provide a temporary solution to the messed up treble, and is a good solution for the time being until you're able to replace your board.

  • can you review your darts (the bears). as i hold the darts in a similar way. and i just would like to see what you throw with.

  • @MrCrisernest - I will be reviewing them as soon as they are available to buy (which I am told will be very soon) so give me a couple of weeks and they will be up on here :)

  • What about the thin nature of the spider and its ability to stand up under frequent hits?

  • @Skytroop - It looks really strong actually. It is embedded right into the sisal so I dont think it will be a problem. In the Bullas Advantage board, the wires are thinner still and its not an issue with that board.

  • My biggest condern is that the spider is so thin. How would it stand up to frequent hits?

  • ur really good at darts. ju play in the pdc or somtin. i lyk the blade 4 but lyk eclipse pro better

  • @cianh97 - no mate - I'm just a county player.

  • I have had an hour or so on it since I did the review. No visible signs of wear (as you would expect ) and I really like it. I think this is a definite improvement but its early days yet - time will tell.

  • @double16dotcom do you puurchase all these items then review them or do you get givin these for free to try out and such?

  • @LMTJones1990 - It varies mate. Some I buy, some are given to me.

  • thanks for the review its made up my mind i am getting one of theses

  • Nothing nicer that those first few darts on a fresh board :)

Think this will definitely have to go on my to buy list, always loved the quality of the sisal on the blade 3 but never really liked how thick the wires were in comparison to a say an Eclipse pro but now that that's been fixed its a bit of a no brainer.

    Great review

  • yay for blade 4
