WAIT A SECOND ? did he just say... Winston ciguarets taste like cigarets should ? What the heck, A cigaret should taste what flavour ? Cause the first taste of a cigarets is... Tabacco ? No ?
@truc199 That's the whole idea of advertising. The producers didn't run the ad just because they liked Winstons, they ran it because they got paid big bucks by R.J. Reynolds.
Your teacher should tell you that TV programming is not free, and that shows you watch are only there because of sponsors. Sponsors pay lots of money to the TV producers, who in turn, place their ads during the show. R.J. Reynolds sponsored the first two Flintstones seasons (1960-61), an animated show for adults.
The good old days before the tobacco nazis took over. When I was 10 years old, my mother used to send me to the store to buy her cigarettes. Nobody cared at the time. I didn't smoke, no wanted to. The commercials had no effect. But I miss the freedom back then. As a young adult, I worked in an office where many people smoked at their desk. I didn't smoke, but it never bothered me.

I'm surprised they didn't call them "Winstone cigarettes".
