  • THE VIDEO IS BACK! :D

  • Fuck John's married! Oh well there's still Paul. He's so funny at the end

  • The BEATLES are 4EVER!!!

  • What a great moment in modern musical history. Honestly, it's hard for me to believe that some people don't like or appreciate the Beatles. They were so gifted, from such a young age. Much of the music they produced was pure genius and magical. I would bet money there will never be a band to replace them. Long live The Beatles!

  • O.K. Which stupid finks gave this a thumbs down?

It's nice that all the Beatles are clearly labeled for easy reference! Very thoughtful.

Love Paul's Yorkshire accent at the end. He's such a ham.

  • I've heard about this performance, but had never seen it before. They sound just as good live as on their albums! Although it was a little hard to hear over all the girls screaming. My goodness, they were screaming, crying, and I think one nearly fainted! The bow at the end of each song is classy.

  • whats with the screaming idiots??you like the band, you listen to the fuckin music

  • @tiredboredsick .....LOL...that was Beatlemania! The real one, not the stage show.

  • 14 People had there speakers off

  • I remember that show, I was 18 years old

  • Wow, VERY solid performance!

  • i wonder what ringo whispers to george or john at 3:36?

  • First time I've seen it since I've seen it. chol too great. what a treasure!

  • Thanks for this video. I use to listen to this group all the time when I was young. This use to be my favorite group. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

  • @weathermusiclover54

    used to?

  • @blackhamster1009 i do every sec of my life

  • BTW the beginning is very professional.

  • Great video, but it's not the full Feb 9 performance. The Beatles sang five songs. The missing song is "I Saw Her Standing There," which started their second set.

  • @OBIT3 You obviously haven't read all of my comments on this video, have you?

  • It would have been amazing to see them live.

  • Even Ed Sullivan was charmed by The Beatles. :) Totally live; lovely.

  • The fat chick with the binoculars after spying her favorite "moptop"- produces a series of facial expressions that...well.....it's frightening 4:40-4:47 check it out

  • lol that ed sullivan such a creep

  • What great memories... I remember seeing this when I was 9... and I was hooked forever more.... a pretty spirited performance by George Harrison, considering he had a pretty severe case of the flu at the time.

  • 4:01 - John (Sorry Girls, He's Married!) LOL

  • George and his guitar . . .beautiful!!!

  • this is classic. I've never seen this performance unedited or uncut. John's mic was not turned up high enough when the show aired. i once read he was cheesed off about it.

  • hey come on you made this in 2008 make some more beatles videos

  • I was right there in front of the TV on this night and a Beatle fan forever.

  • Wow over 113,000 views! Thanks!

  • Cougar at 9:31 ?? :D

  • @AxeManJax lololololol

  • I was negative 16 months old in February of 1964 but my older brothers and sister said, that night, you couldn't even hear what the Beatles were singing because of the screaming in the audience. These filtered versions of the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan must be remembered as now being filtered to diminish the screaming. Only Elvis Presley had caused such hysteria. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • I quote George Harrison (AKA BEST GUITARIST EVER AT 4:10) "I've heard that while the show was on there were no reported crimes, or very few. When the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan, even the criminals had a rest for 10 minutes."

  • This never gets old. The amount of music these guys pumped out in just 6 or 7 years was prolific on steroids. These 10 minutes changed the American music scene forever.

  • What the heck was Paul saying at the end? Lol

Geesh he sounds half in the bag there, must have been after the show drinks...

  • @Turkeydoodlers He says (in a Lancashire accent) "Oooh I love this place, America. Really good records on the radio"

  • @AxeManJax 6:05 ringo gets a up roar

  • George Harrison explain in an interview years ago that they did a sound check on this show and left for awhile and a cleaning lady came around and cleaned the marks off of the mixing board..probably explaining why the mix was weird and John was not heard as well. They were most likely re-cueing everything at time of taping.

  • for the people who dislike this video u can go listen to justin beiber pussys

  • They need to put up John's mic... Paul's harmonies don't sound good without John.

  • I wonder if the producers insisted on paul singing the first 2 songs 'cause John was married

  • Was Lennon's mic turned off or something?

  • @ForbiddenVegetable I dunno is yours?

  • @squid0862 sick burn?

  • @ForbiddenVegetable It was on but Paul's did seem kinda overpowering compared to John's..... Though John's guitar was WAY to soft, in my opinion

  • @ForbiddenVegetable no duh lol

  • @ForbiddenVegetable Paul was just singing louder. squid0862, LOVE THE VID. Thanks for putting it on!

  • @ForbiddenVegetable if John isnt singing lead then its not his song. everyone sang lead on their own song.

  • @blessiththechily Wrong. John wrote Do you Want To Know A Secret and George Sung it. Same with other songs.

  • @blessiththechily Yeah but you hear Johns voice above Pauls in the original I wanna hold your hand. But you can't even hear him. It's like his mic is turned off.

  • @ForbiddenVegetable For I want to hold your hand, yes something happened to the mic, luckily for john, paul took the lead.

  • Definatly best band ever

  • I was in my pj's and umping up and down in my parents' bed: Didn't now what it was but I liked it!

  • As a band their music just holds up so well over the years-Ringo might be the most underrated rock drummer every-he just holds everything together

  • I am huge Beatles fan even though I was born in1971. Needless to say I never got to see this til there was you tube;

  • I was seven, and absolutely glued to my grandmothers tv set. Never forget that night! No musician/composer for some 100 or two hundred years has had such an enduring impact & influence. Not bad for a what was essentially a seven year run!

  • to this day, this remains the most watched event ever on American television.

  • Those girls in the audience actually behaved themselves.lol.You don't see that today.

  • Ringo was so cute!

  • wow, i'm actually laughing at the girls in the audience

  • @scoundrel555 ikr

  • Oh shit, now he's married and dead!

  • theyre full of awesomeness! LOVE U GUYS!!!

  • stop screaming and listen to the music! jeez!

    stupid girls

  • Strange that John's hardly in this.

  • @Stube437 sorry bout the dislike i clicked on the wrong comment but it is strange

  • The dislike bar is as big as Miley Cyrus's penis.

  • This was the day that the world changed for me. Love this!

  • I actually remember seeing this! I was only 4 or 5 yrs. old, but I remember rocking out to "I wanna hold your hand".

  • Hey people who watch this vid! You won't know how many spam messages I get because of this video... LOL! Thanks for watching!

  • pretty amazing...the best ever.

  • Like this if you were a 90s kid and wish you grew up during this era of time which would be the best time to grow up

  • @xGuitarProdigyx born in 1977 but a mjor beatles fan what can i say

  • I love when they shake their heads and go "Ooooo!"

  • @HeHepTV You need to share this vid so it will get more popular!

  • why does this historical event have so few views?

  • The moment in history when everything changed, forever AND for better! And, we shall never see anything like it again. Thank you John, Paul, George, and Ringo for the greatest show on earth!!!

  • I saw this when I was 15 and at my girlfriend, Karen's house. I was fortunate to get tickets to see the Beatles live in Pittsburgh at The Civic Arena. It was the first time in my life that I was actually afraid of women. Man, if you said anything against these guys, you were dead meat!!!

  • And wtf was paul saying

  • John was married?

  • Beatles popularity will never die. You can tell by how frequently these posts come. C'mon - a 47-year old video and posts still come hours apart?

(am I the only one that chuckles a little at George and his giant guitar?)

  • how can anyone not like the beatles!!!!! why is their 12 dislikes??!!! :0

  • Awesome I love the beatles to death;)

  • THE. GREATIEST. BAND. EVER. i mean it. THE. GREATIEST. BAND. EVER.

  • @EpicsaucenessxD Greatiest? Nice new vocabulary thar.

  • @squid0862 Hey man they couldn't even spell Beetles right so who really cares about vocab. Spelling has nothing to do with the legitimacy of a statement.

  • @EpicsaucenessxD Well, duh.

  • @buchick10 Yeah, I completely agree!! Paul is just so bouncy & hyper & HOT all the time x) Especially when they were doing "She Loves You", he looks like the happiest kid alive x)

  • Gotta love that unison bow at the end of the songs...

  • Wow that was AMAZING!!!!! I absolutely adore The Beatles thanks soooooo much for putting this on YouTube;)

  • george's guitar playing is so good

  • @Joe2142

yeah, he's always so subtle in his timing, tone and melodicism, that's why he's so underated, because he never was interested in guitar pyrotechnics.

  • What a great moment. This is when music changed forever and thousands of people were inspired to play guitar and form bands.

  • Thank you so Much for this video

  • This is the first time I've experienced this since 1963. 9yrs old. It really sounds good.Check George at 4;00 This was the day 3 out of 5 boys went out and bought a guitar and amp the next day. Glenn Frey of the Eagles admitted he was one of them. I had to take on a paper route myself. Thanks for the post and memories. Loved It..

  • As brilliant and talented as they were, there were a few others, as well. Much of the Beach Boys' work is nearly as good. In fact, the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" was the Beatles' inspiration for "Sgt. Pepper". Which is why "Pet Sounds" is considered to be the #2 album of all time (right behind "Sgt Pepper"). Lennon and McCartney wanted to surpass it. They did. But "Pet Sounds" is still a tremendous creation.

  • At about the 9:10 mark, notice how camera moves toward Ringo and his drums get louder (duh!?!) and then camera pulls back. : )

  • Its really depressing to know that music like this is dying because of all the shit music thats out here now-a-days. Todays world is filled with talentless "musicians" who can't even play a fucking instrument! At school (I'm 16), when I ask people who their favorite artist is, they always replay Lady Gaga or The Jonas Brothers. There are some people though that say The Beatles or Led Zeppelin. The way I see it, Muse is the only hope for rock music today. If they go down, rock music may die :(

  • This is never going to happen again....after this ...nothing has EVER been the same!!!

  • Id kill for a time machine, I wish I could have seen this show in person^^

  • I was in the audience that night, February 9th, 1964, at the Ed Sullivan Show to hear the Beatles very first television performance. The energy in the room was electric. One of my uncles was a sound engineer for Sullivan, and I got to meet all four Beatles backstage, get my picture taken with them (I have 12), and also got all four of their autographs. They were very engaging and polite, even though it was obvious that they were pretty tired. Really good people, and very gracious.

  • @MrPhlux The only energy is you pulling your cock FUCKHEAD

  • @MrPhlux how old are u?

  • @MrPhlux

    damn I really envy you!

  • @MrPhlux dude.. does your face have a golden glow??? damn, i would have clung to them all haha

  • Whenever I hear that the Rolling Stones are doing something new I always think "They will never be as big as the beatles!"

  • you can barely hear John):

Paul looks like he's having the best friggin time of his life! and i lovee George's back up vocals in all my loving<3

George at 3:40<3 he like shakes his shoulders, then sees the camera. "Oh, sorry." lmaoooo and his guitar solo in til there was you is amazing.

haha all the disappointed girls in the audience when they find out John's married

i'm so jealous of my aunts. they got to watch this live, not on youtube 46 years later! she told me they looked like girls! xD

  • John was sooo hot!!!!

  • @oasisforever16 ikr!!! i clipped it out and saved it as "he's married....damn!"

  • aaaa como se llama esa cancion alguien me podria desir porfas

wave watered down so I could report on the first song name please

  • The way they all flop their little mop tops around on "oooh" is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

  • i love this video brings back alot this is the BEST DAM BAND IN THE WORLD OF MUSIC

  • Nice disclaimer dude!

  • Thank you - brought back great memories.

  • oddly, my favorite beatles were Paul, George, and Ringo. I was never big on John. Never. I don't know why.

  • BEST. BAND. EVER,

  • This is one of the events those of my generation will always remember- where you were, who you were with with, eveything. 2/9/64 i was a HS senior, at a church youth group, but everything stopped when 8 rolled around. Then, these guys came on and changed everything. No band, ever, will match the impact and the incredible production of amazing songs of stunning variety as The Beatles. Ever.

  • I want to hold your hand sounded so out of place, probably because everyone assumed McCartney was the 'lead singer' at this point, that they even turned off Lennon's mic,So when they took out Lennons mic,the song sounds odd because Paul sings the top harmony, and with no lead vocals, which are supposed to be sung by John,it sounds cruddy.

Poor John, his own band and he's made out to be a rhythm guitarist.

  • @KAMD052694 yeah I thought it sounded weird because I was only hearing Paul

  • @LoneLawMan Umm.... was that sarcasm? I can't tell XD If not, you mean to say loving and tolerant girl. Sorry!! I was just trying to make a funny :P BEATLES FOREVER!! <3

  • that sound must have just been sooooo amazing and refreshing at that time. and strangely it has the same effect today. greatest rock act bar none!! nothing comes close to the beatles in rock history.

  • Greatest band of all time no argument!

  • Lmao Ringo's like, " I'm taller than you guys now >:3 "

  • id like to be twice entertained by them ;) if ya know what i mean *winkwinknudgenudge*

  • is that a mom at 9:32 ?

  • georges solo rules...and he was only 20....in front of 70 million viewers on live tv...

  • I was 5 years old and remember not being able to sleep the Friday and Saturday night before this Sunday show. It was only my mom and me and we watched in amazement and complete silence. Everything changed that night...I just didn't know it at the time.

  • la irmortalidad es algo que solo los grandes pueden alcanzar y the beatles ahora son una leyanda

  • omg.. i am the bigest beatles fan and my birthday is feb 9

  • Ladies and gentlemen............THE BEATLES!!!

  • lol outkast hey ya is the same as this lol they copied tha beatles but its still cool

  • I saw Paul in concert last month. He's still so hot. I started crying happy tears when he sang All My Loving!!! LUV U PAUL!!!!!

  • I like the look between John & George at 6:45.

  • @newerafrican Good noticing!

  • I LOVE Paul at the end... well, no, I just love Paul all the time XD

  • This was the day the world changed...goodbye stale car songs and Brill Building manufactured music. Rock & Roll was back!! The Beatles changed everything and nothing would ever be the same.

Arlichar, you obviously have no idea what was happening back then. Do some research and you'll find out why these guys changed the world...

  • wow... the really had the volume on John's mic turned down a lot

  • "Sorry girls he's married LOL

  • wheres the amps?

  • great post.... i cant quite understand the excitement? did ppl hear and see them before they came here? not xactly the greatest looking guys really...obviously the music is amazing... but why did the guys even cut hair like them? was it really needed to scream like that.... u go all way to see them and then cant even enjoy it because it s like haunted house/ rollercoaster LOL

  • Wow, amazing....these guys were awesome. I wasn't even born yet or thought of, lol, but so nice to see this amazing piece of history from one of my favorite bands.

  • I love the sound of George Harrison's Gretsch from 4:19 to 4:21

    RIP George and John!!

  • 6 people missed the like button

  • 2:30 Laura Palmer's mom from Twin Peaks

  • Did you see the girl at 4:40 she is a little to into it . Lol

  • I always loved their stage presence, especially John's. While Paul & George are on the left hamming it up, sharing a mic & shaking their heads, Lennon just stands there flat-footed, squared up to the mic, and fucking DEALS. What a man!

  • What's Paul saying at the end? I caught something like, "Oh I love this place, America...", and then something about a radio.

  • the beatles made this bozo popular lol

  • The 5 people that dislike this can go die. Then when they are dead, John and George can beat them up :3

  • @BeatlesFanCharsh Or you could not check how many people clicked thumbs down and just enjoy the video?

  • @cotchery Yes Yes I know. I just get bothered when people don't like them XD But I accept the fact that some people have no taste in some music :P Don't worry, pretty much 99% of the time I'm never bothered by it, but just for this video, I had to stick up for it ;P

  • min 4:37 WTF? Those chicks pretending to French kiss Sir Paul? LOL! Hilarious!

  • Just simply fantastic. The most important musical event ever on television. Legendary.

  • i love how happy paul is whenever they play live

  • @jias188 I know!! He so cute!! OMG I'm seeing him in concert on August 9th!!! I'M SO EXCITED!! I hope he's as happy as he is here :3 Haha it sounds funny for me to say that XD

  • it's unfortunate that seeing them live back then, you would not be able to hear them like this. they sounded amazing!

  • this was second show in sullivan not first

  • The moment that changed everything. I remember it well. People could not believe the hair. Schools banned it. Parents forbid it. People stared at anyone with it. It was considered so outrageous to have hair that long, but.....it was already too late. This was the beginning of it all. Everything changed, not just music. I'll never forget this moment and thank you for posting it here. RIP George and John.

  • I love the pretty girls making dreamy kissy faces in live Beatles footage.

  • Does anyone know why all the songs were performed a half-step lower than their original key?

  • I was born the next day...I think I could hear what was on TV though. And I've been a fan all my life...right from the start...Baby!

  • look at ringo rockin it out u go on brother

  • She Loves You exploded out of the radio. The world was changed this evening. It probably looks very quaint now, but its true. Everything changed.

  • the best Beatles video I've seen by far

  • i was 3 & wish i had been able to see this, but i was busy playing in my crib...love the beatles, george is my favorite!

  • i thought Brian Epstein didnt want the public to kno John was married

  • @sk8terdude96 he didn't, but you can imagine how hard it would be to keep that a secret.

  • John Lennon's rhythm guitar part in All My Loving is insane, love these guys!

  • That "Ladies and gentlemen. THE BEATLES!!!!!" is very very famous :D lol

  • 4:01 - You can literally hear millions of hearts breaking . . .

  • Is it their first appearance on ol' Ed Sullivan?

  • Forgot to comment on Paul's bass playing. He is the original ape man on the bass.

  • It's great to see PROFESSIONALS at work. Notice how they don't look like their in pain when they perform, unlike most of the people you see. George and John are mugging for the camera while busting some nice licks on the guitars. These guys paid their dues and it shows in their masterful live performances.
