Meg in a sense is the best drummer because she has the guts to sit back and play basic beats that are perfectly in time and in tune with jack. If Meg played anything more complicated it would start to cover up what jack does and people wouldn't be able to marvel at all his talent. Just listen to the Raconteurs, Jack is still phenomenal but it's not that in your face HOLY SHIT JACK WHITE feel.

well im sure in the background you hear a distorted base, which im not sure is played on a free string instrument or a keyboard/piano, but it seems like its bending the sounds alittle so my guess is a guitar.

The album isn't played on guitar, and the album song doesn't have distortion, not only that, but he sings different on the album. I saw them play this live on guitar once, without backing cause jack improvised, and this sounds like when they played it live that time.
