no i know that a motor should go straight to a dyno once it starts and isnt leaking it wasnt a damn you didnt even break in the motor type of response i just wanted to know how many miles you had gone before stepping on it like that i personally like 500 miles of only going to 4k just to make sure there aren't any unseen leaks and to ensure the valve train is seated and valves have been adjusted at least 2 times i just had a bad exp and snapped an exhaust cam because i was too hasty with vtec
This is how to break in a motor. The faster the rings move against the cylinder walls the easier and faster the rings get seated. If you put put around in a motor trying to break the rings in, the rings have a hard time seating because the motors rpms are not high enough to seat them properly. Also, it can even damage the rings, it wont be noticeable, until the motor begins to smoke 5000 miles later. i have seen it done many many times.

well he said he's running a itr head and itr cams, so maybe the head is stock and he doesn't need to worry about the valve train and etc.

Your suppose to go up to varoius rpms and let it come back down on its own to create that vacuum effect.

Sure, you do it your way, ill keep doing it mine. All my motors have lasted thousands of miles and still dont smoke..
