  • God bless them

  • The people that gave of themselves & helped, out of the pure kindness of their hearts, shared the gospel, loving a shunned human being...treating them as they would like to be treated...that is the TRUE definition & actions of a Christian. God bless those young adults w hearts of gold. They are true leaders, they are true Christians.

  • People w horrible & insensative remarks...please remember, these are HUMAN BEINGS, w feelings, hearts, souls & bodies that feel pain just as you do. Don't be critical or insulting, THEY DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS! No excuse for being cruel. I once made fun of someone w downs syndrome when I was a kid, now my OWN SON has autism. Karma can be a bitch. It may take years, but good or bad, it will come back at you.

  • @venuslock35 Amen!

  • I volunteered once. Everyone should thank God for our health and luxuries

  • @soldierofallah86

The same God that stands idle while these people suffer? If God did exist, I wish I could see him so I could spit on his fucking face.

  • @DR000 You just answered your own question.

  • @HipHopJun

    How so?

  • how can i help??

  • How do they touch them with out contacting the disease? Isn't it a very contagious disease?

  • @sw2385 Actually it's a highly uncontagious disease. and many people are immune to it, plus they are for the most part wearing gloves

  • What major can I go to other countries and do this for a living?

  • @nickjack126 You can become a Missions major. Many universities, but specifically Christian universities offer programs and degrees in this direction. :)

  • God bless each and everyone of you that helped these people out. The video brought tears to my eyes.

  • i know these motha fuckas got leprocy but they are not handicapped. im sure they can take a shower themselves..

  • @cralosfuentes lolol

  • you guys are very good people:)

  • Awesome to see such young volunteers xoxoxo

  • Im sorry but what the f*** is this whole discussion below about? Mutli drug therapy with anti-mycobaterials (same drugs as for treating Tuberculosis) would cure the M. Leprae infection after 6 months, and they are cured. Specialized footwear would help any one with toe loss and mobility issues. All up this would cost less than shipping 6 Americans to Africa. But at the same time, faith can be a great aid for people, such as palliative care in cancer patients, but infections need antibiotics.

  • Some say that we are 95% resistant to the desease which is false. It depends more on how strong our own body resistance if being affected by malnutrition or AIDS just like in the case with TBC. TBC and leprosy are caused by related organisms.

  • People PLEASE help others because you are good and because you want the best for others as for you as well, NOT TO CONVERT. I respect what they are doing, APPLAUD the work but I cannot just look at this and think that these bastards are trying to help just for the sake of helping, but to ONLY convert. If that is the mission, then this definitely is wrong. Good comes from the heart and from the our animal ability to be altruistic, we dont need to brainwash the poor and sick to help them.

  • i love how cristians will never learn to do something without expecting something back, the main purpose they went their was to convert them to Christianity if they were not cristians

  • @taimoor006

I don't think this is always the case. Our society help the lepers without any conditions, without any attempt to convert. We just want to help them.

  • @taimoor006

I don't think this is always the case. Our society help the lepers without any conditions, without any attempt to convert. We just want to help them.

  • May our Heavenly Father YaHuWaH bless these people for helping others!! This is one example of the message Messiah Yahushua taught, love thy neighbor!! This shows love, compassion, and humility!!! I ask and pray that everyone take a real good look at them selves and say, what can I do for someone else today!! Faith without works is dead!! May YaHuwaH bless and shine his glory on you all!!!

  • Isn't leprosy very contagious?

  • @halliemartin1 From what ive been reading, its not as contageous as you would think. People are able to live in the same house hold with an individual with Hanson's (Leprosy) Disease and not contract it at all. You have to understand though that it is a bacterial infection. And with any bacterial infection there is a risk. They are still unsure as to how the disease is spread. It is thought that contact with the bacteria to an open wound or to the nose is how someone contracts it.

  • @meho1984 All the medicine in the world isn't going to grow their toes back.

  • I really like your attitude!!!! ... and hope you 'contaminate' a lot of young people with it.

  • @msoliviamandell Go Kris! :) -Laurisa

  • very nice of you

  • @robi2000 ... SORRY ... I 'missed' the line. The thumbs down was intended for the comment 'below' yours.

  • Let them die, less worth subhumans get what they deserve

  • @Hadesqq And I bet if any of your family members were sick you wouldn't be saying a damned thing now would you? You think you're so high and mighty...well then...go and walk on water and see how "MIGHTY" you are. Comments like these deserve to be kept to ones self.

  • @msoliviamandell i can walk on water and i possess the ability to turn water into beer! WHAT NOW?

  • Comment removed

  • @tacossssssssss **claps** Good for you. You want a gold medal? Yeah, try to walk on actual water and not just ice, 'cause you know...thats cheating ;)

  • @msoliviamandell dere be no ice where i live

  • Good decent kind people, putting the needs of others before themselves; what a rarity in this selfish, self-obsessed, materialistic world. As someone else said, who gives a fuck if they tell them about the gospel; its giving them some relief from the misery they live with. Those who denigrate the efforts of those on here, ask yourself this; what have YOU done to help someone else today??Enough said;)

  • This is your idea of generosity? Clean them, feed them and then force them to listen to western society's religious views? Dispicable.

  • quite remarkable ... you bathed them, you fed them, you entertained them - BUT has anybody ever considered to give them a hug? wearing gloves and mouth-protection??? - quite honestly - must feel like an arrogant insult to the ill. surely you show you care. yet you also show, that they are outcasts to you. find people to go there, that are not afraid of touching them, loving them. then you get my full respect.

  • @mmbmbmbmb I do agree with the full out protection...because if they're sick they don't want to give it to them just in case their immune systems aren't strong, wearing gloves I think would've sufficed for just cleaning the wounds itself, but the full-out isolation gear...hmm...was a bit drastic.

Also people have to see that maybe they had to follow certain rules while they were there.

    P.S. I woulda gave them a hug :)

  • @msoliviamandell ... I really like your attitude!!!! ... and hope you 'contaminate' a lot of young people with it.

  • @mmbmbmbmb Haha thanks so much :)

  • You guys are awesome for helping them. I just feel one shouldn't push ones religion onto less fortunate people. But great work helping them.

  • @meho1984 The disease is not completely curable, the drugs you listed can only treat patients with leprosy but can't "cure" them. We have not found a way to cure leprosy, only slow it down and stop it from being contagious for a period of time.

  • @HYBRIDhater you're just a tramp, nuff said

  • @Brandonisrad18

Just to let you know, leprosy isnt contagious, its a desiese caused by problems and lack of things in the diet. They were brave and laid aside their own comfort for the need of others which is apparently a heap more than you will ever have enough courage or heart to do! So get next to yourself before you write a heartless, thoughtless comment like that ever again! Well done guys!

  • @pinktissues Actually the reason why leprosy has been feared for ages is because it's very contagious, and you don't get it from a lack of nutrition it is caused by specific types of bacteria. If lack of nutrition were the cause millions more people would be getting leprosy. Make sure you know what you are talking about before giving false information.

  • @TVNiNo Actually, while leprosy is contagious to an extent, it's extremely difficult to catch. About 95 percent of the world's population is naturally immune. So it's neither highly contagious or not contagious at all.

  • @TVNiNo well i heard that from an influential person. Soz tht i hurt your feelings by being minutely wrong. What do you mean giving false information? LOL am i some website telling people all this knowledgable info on leprosy? NO, lol ppl dont have to listen to what i say, take you for instance, so dont act like i just did something horrendous on an intellectual , know-it-all, scientific thingg, gosh!

  • dios vendiga a esas personas que tienen la oportunidad de viajar y ayudar a los mas necesitados.

  • couldnt get me over there

  • why is it that when there are good people in the world trying to help others, regardless of their religion or faith, why is it that there are people with such negative remarks??? religious or not.....they did something to help someone....and all those that criticize or have something negative to say......at least they are doing something for people whom haven't had a lot of hope in their life..to the cynical negative assholes-these people deserve to live much more then you do!!

  • @lexybeauty33 I do hope id be able one day to be able to be of help to such poor people...maybe stop looking to my own benefits and own personal life

  • @Wisdombluetooth You don't have to wait for one day to come. Just one little act of kindness a day can bring joy to someone at no cost to you. Just make sure you do it out of love and not expect anything back. Then your heart will also be filled with joy! Shalom!!!

  • @lexybeauty33 because people shouldn't leave others with a false sense of hope.

"Saving" someone can be just as traumatic as death.

Most of the time, "missionaries" are just looking for new and vulnerable recruits into their cults, and it is an outrage to mislead so many innocent people to try for a bid at their souls.

  • do you all realize that leprosy is the one disease that is most curable?

  • Great helped..Thanks to all volunteers youth...God Bless You All !!

  • Oh, SnApnea and HYBRIDhater.... You're Idiots!!

  • Eh, We Fed and Bathed Them???? I'm Sure A Lot of These People Could Do This Themselves?? Why Did You Have to Feed a Woman Who Looked to Me to Be Perfectly Able to Feed Herself?? Okay, Fair Play, You Did a Wonderful Thing Going Over to Help These People, But, Just Remember a lil Self Dignity.... How Would You Like Someone Feeding or Bathing You if You are Well Able??

  • Yeah...I agree. It is kinda silly to feed them like they were kids. I would be a bit offended if someone were feediing me like I couldn't.

  • Same reply to you as I gave to PCISFEAR:

Most of these people no longer had fingers or toes. How COULD they feed and bathe themselves? Their wounds fester, untreated, because they CAN'T tend to themselves anymore without help. And if they manage, it's with great difficulty, I'm sure.

I highly doubt these poor people WANT to feel so helpless. =(

  • And showing them the gospel helps how exactly?

  • The same could be said for the singing and dancing they did for them, too. Some people find relief and comfort through religion. Others through music. What harm is there in lifting their spirits and making them less sad, whether it be through entertainment or a higher power?

I don't follow any set religion but I fully support the right for people to believe in whatever soothes their pain in their hour of need.

In the end, it's all about just knowing somebody cares.

  • Some of these people were missing fingers ... how can they grasp eating utensils, soap, wash cloths, and buckets without fingers...?

  • I fucking HATE you people the reason why they are separted is so leprosy dosen't wipe out the human race that's why they're separtated from the rest of society, and you go there and travel to different countries and spread the worst disease know to man, not this "If I get leprosy I will track you down and kill you", but you should still live with them, I respect what your doing but you must stay there

  • What you don't seem to understand is that leprosy is very easily curable and easy to identify early, so there is no problem with them helping out then returning to their own home country as long as they receive a medical examination.

  • so then why dont instead of finding a cure, make a vaxine?

  • it isnt contagious check it up

  • Yes it is.

  • you are right !!it is contagious !! 5 % of people can catch it !!

  • Exactly

  • 95 % of us are naturally immune to leprocy !!!

  • okay but what if im not, and then they bring the disease back to america? and they touch the same door knob as me or something in the airport as me and i ge tleporsy?, these people should be shunned that go over there, i mean yeah they're good people and have a good cause but why risk more people? do u see what i mean?

  • that is why they wear gloves and masks, this way there is no risk to catch it. I know someone who worked in India with them many years ago.and he never caught the disease.

  • okay yu also just said 95% of us are naturally imune to it he probably is, and SERIOUSLY? why take the risk? do u know what germs are, there is NO thing such as "sterile" germs also can grow immunity to 100% alchohol

  • Sorry, but based on every comment from you on this page I've read, it seems like you're a germaphobe that doesn't care about facts or reason. If you want to life your life terrified, that's your business. But don't turn your nose up at other people who AREN'T too afraid to make a difference.

  • yeah I'm a germaphobe. I don't gamble with my limbs like fingers legs hands toes ect. I have common sense, someone tells you if you get this disease you will literally fall apart, I'm staying away from it

  • Well, then if you're that paranoid, sucks to be you. But don't hate on people trying to do right by their fellow man. Because you're just as crippled as these poor lepers--you're crippled by your fear. That's to be pitied.

Here's hoping you find a better way to live your life.

  • no, I draw the line when it comes to me dying I'm not afriad to get sick I drink O.J. and vitamins, I barely wash my hands I eat with grease and dirt under my fingernails

  • REAL heroes--like these people--don't fear death. But that's neither nor there.

What YOU fail to realize is this--outreach programs like this TEST those taking part to see if they fall within the 5% that can contract leprosy. Only susceptible individuals can spread the bacteria, so aside from your irrational hateful opinions, you have no valid argument.

  • yeah, I'm hateful, I don't fear death either, I fear not accomplishing anything before I die

  • @HYBRIDhater I agree, why the fuck would you go to a place full of a disease that can make you fall apart? if they need food, ect, then go there with protection and all, you would have to be an idiot to walk into a place full of a contagious disease as serious as leprosy -.-

  • you are good peoples ;)

    respect

  • you people are doing such a amazing job out there.you are real human beings the world needs more people like you

  • If a person receives multi-drug treatment, they stop being contagious. Leprosy continues to be a major problem today in poor countries where they treatment is too expensive for most people. Otherwise it's actually curable.

  • People with the god disease, giving it to people already infected with disease. How about just helping them out because you're a good human being?

  • isnt it really contagious...no offense to them...but i wud b so scared to touch them

  • That is a false stigma. Leprosy is no more contagious than an allergy. Because in essence, that's all leprosy actually is--a severe allergic reaction to a certain strain of bacteria. You're either vulnerable to it or you're not. You can't BECOME susceptible to it if you weren't already.

  • These... things... are obviously possessed or something. It's the only possible explanation.

    Disgusting creatures with no souls.

  • Mark of the Beast said:

    "these things have no souls"

In your second life, God will grant you a clearer view.

  • I really hope you're just saying that in a twisted poor attempt at humor and not because you're ACTUALLY serious. T_T

  • @TheMarkOfTheBeast1 And I believe you've been smoking something....

  • very moving!!

  • Leprosy colonies really were the best thing to do at the time I hate to say it...

  • no other way

  • Bless their dear hearts.

Thank you for the help you gave them-- I admire the crew. This is what Jesus would do.

There but by the grace of God go I....

  • Comment removed

  • First, they are not creatures, they're humans, just like you and me. Unfortunately, they got infected by the disease. The leprosy bacteria, mycobacterium leprae comes from the same genus as M. tuberculosis, bacteria for TB. so they have the same transmission, via nasal droplets. It is infectious but if you know how to protect yourself then you'll be alright.

  • This was good until the religious propaganda.

  • Dont you just hate that?

  • Why are we keeping these creatures alive??? they are not happy, they are useless and we waste money on them....disgusting

  • why do we keep politicians alive- they're just scum with no use for others and no sense of love for their community- just money muggers with white baskets controlling the society they live in

  • I dont get the bit where they are fed, are they too disabled to feed themselves?

  • godbless you people!

  • i think all the ppl who help retards and that are amazing but i coudent do it myself dont know why i just coudent

  • not trying to be mean but it's spelled 'couldn't' :D

    Conjunction of could + not

  • Sorry, but if you spell the word "couldn't" like that, twice in a row, then you shouldn't call people retards

  • i thought the desease was only in biblical times

  • @mugara16 Nope....it's here too....

  • as much as i feel bad for them i wouldnt get close to them since its contagious

  • What would you do to leppers?

    a: Shoot to kill them?

b: Bathe them and ask Jesus to heal them

c: or perform on stage in front of them?

  • tbh (A) to kill the disease

  • I agree. Going to a 3rd world country and helping out is amazing. PREACHING and forcing a religion on people who can't even find food everyday is stupid. Come on. I hate mission trips. What happened if Arabs came over here and started preaching about Allah....you'd all be up in arms!

  • MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THEM, the diseased and those helping the diseased.

  • they only try to help them, are you helping in any way moron!these people wants to help and give them a hope and at the same time tell them about the true and only god jesus christ.

but i forgive you jebuspowerzz. next time try to help another person in stead of critizing the people who does.. william from norway

  • ROFL "We bathed them..."

  • why does every mission ever to help anyone have to end up in forcing religeon onto someone..? if they truely cared about the poor lepers they'd leave christianity out of it. preaching is precious time wasted, that could be used to help try and cure them!

  • is it contagious in any way? how you get it to begin with??

  • man, its sad how many people put stupid comments on this.

anyway, that was really cool of you guys to go and do this, a physical act of showing Gods love. way to be. i hope i can do something like this soon

    :)

  • Very Well, that is something that contributes to human history... Well Done!

  • I hate to sound harsh but at this point wouldn't these people be better off if they were just killed? what kind of life is this for a human? it's sad and probably unimaginable to most people, but instead of a bath and a bandage they should've all been given a lethal dose of morphine to REALLY end their pain, & possibly control the spread of the disease... just my opinion.

  • your a moron!

  • Go nurse your mothers filthy cock you racist sack of shit....I didn't see you trying to help anyone just spouting off BS out of your ignorant cock holster/mouth...Your taking up space on this planet that could be used by someone of worth.....do yourself and the rest of the world a favor kill yourself before you breed and infect the rest of the planet!

  • Leprosy, proof of god's love to test the faithful in the grandest and smallest of ways. Man, god sure is great isn't he mmm hmm, such an awesome god he is. Thank god for cancer, ebola, AIDS, birth defects, war, famine, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, and all that good ole' fashioned misery and destruction to test our faith. AMEN.(don't try to justify any of that you can't and you know it)

  • oH! WOW! WHITE PEOPLE ARE THE SAINTS! lmao, rofl!

  • Why is it always about race? How about it being about one human being helping another... you racist fuckin douche

  • I if infected I would rather ask to be put to death mercifully rather than to die little by little cut up and infecting other people. Are not the caretakers taking a huge risk that they too will get infected ? there is no vaccine against it. It is inhumane to see people suffer this way. If dogs and cats who are healthy are put to death why are poor people allowed to suffer this way? Why? I know I could never put anyone at risk what life is this anyway? can anyone please tell me?

  • actually in the philippines, there is one hospital who accepts patients with this kind of disease. but only few were left. the hospital now is no longer for patients with this disease alone. there is no vaccine or no treatment for this but there is a drug that could prevent it from spreading. the nurses there are not afraid or anxious with them since they are no longer infectious as long as they keep their drug intake.

  • there is treatment

  • What a beautiful way to live out God in front of these people. All any of us want is to know that we are loved and cherished. Through your acts of feeding, bathing, and simple touch, you have shown these and others that God cares for us in the grandest and in the smallest ways. What I think was most interesting is the comment at the end. Anyone who has been on a missions trip can also say that the blessings you receive as you serve God and others are incredible. May God continue to bless you!!!!

  • not to be offencive but...how should i say this... are people with leoperacy called... leoperchans, or leoperds

  • u mean leprosy?? patients with this disease is not called leoperchans or leopards dude. it is not even good to call them leppers. u will get sued if u say that to them. u can call patients with leprosy as hansenites or patients with leprosy, but not leppers. hansenites is termed bec. leprosy is similar with hansen's disease.

  • you bathed them, you bandaged their wounds, you fed them, that's all well and good. but did you cure their leprosy? next time you pray to the invisible man in the sky, why not ask him why jesus isn't still here curing lepers?

  • If Jesus cured lepers then he mind as well cure cancer and if he did that he mind as well feed the poor and after doin that he mind as well solve the worlds problems. This world was not made to be perfect, it doesnt matter if a person has lepers or not. Its do you love Jesus or not. Just because a person loves Jesus does not mean they will be blessed financially, psyhically, or mentality. Your soul will be blessed at the end which is worth more than anything financial or psyhical

  • you'll not be infected as long as ur wound dont touch their skin or something and shit....poor guys must be hard being leper

  • i bet all the porch monkeys that filmed this lost his job due to leprosy. how the fuck can u hold a camera with no arms

  • that is awesome music =)

  • May God bless you. That is a wonderful thing you are doing there. i am only thirteen and i wanna go out to the mission feild. I feel that that is Gods calling for me.

  • God is dead.

  • (reply to sewellcm)

You will see, when you yourself are dead and buried.

  • No, you will! rotflmfao!

  • dude your a fucking dumbass.

  • i meant that to sewellcm. that ill beat the fucking shit out of you.

  • We are all God's children how dare anyone of us judge? Who is perfect we are brother and sister-help one and another and love and know our father is the judge!

  • even though you cant get leprosy in particular, these people dont look too good concerning the rest of their health... im sure they're infected with other, more contagious diseases

  • Lots of people here seem to be confused about leprosy when it comes to it being contagious. It is indeed possible to catch it from contact, but somewhere around 95% of the world's population are immune to it genetically. And of course there are tests and medicines to stop people from getting it, so the people in the video helping out at this leper colony (Seriously, leper colonies should not exist in this day and age) will be fine

  • Thats very kind hearted, people like you guys should be the ones god must create more.

  • god doesnt create anyone... think carefully about wat you just said and the disrespect on your parents that it implies

  • God summons what they created to another life form, while what ever the life form is,helps take care of it,but when you have completed your mission,God brings you back, also known as DIED.Those help full people lives longer, means they have not completed their mission.people only dies when their mission on Earth is over.

  • jesus you are so confused... but i guess the world wouldnt be complete without uneducated, naive idiotic radicals like you...

  • Well,i am uneducated, and i am also idiotic but i am not people who cant walk, talk, think

  • This is really sad to see people like this, & i admire you all that went over there to help them, takes allot of courage.

  • these folks are afflicted with a crippling and disfiguring disease and you still want to preach about god? What sort of a cruel god would let this happen? And why not just help them for help's sake and not preach? Stop giving them false hopes please.

  • everyone is so stupid. "GOD IS SOOOOOOOOO GREAT!" if god was so great then this video wouldnt exist

  • bingo

  • must be painful! shit i fell well bad for these guys! great job!

  • its almost spooky...

  • if they touch the people with leprosy wont they get infected?

  • ehhh. well now days there are ways to stop hansen before and early on in the disease. but once you hit the the later stages (spots and w/e) there is basically no way to stop it.

I admire what you people are doing to help these people. but surely there isnt wide recognition (in thrid world countries)that there IS a cure for this disease. Its kind of sad to see people end up like this and for them not to know it could have been stopped...

  • rot in hell

  • I admire this people! you guys are amazing! i wish to be like you when i grow up! thanks for showing us how to be KIND and work together!

  • I am glad that you could help these people. I find it sad that many with leprosy not only fight a cruel desease but an equally cruel social stigma.

Though it really has nothing to do with your work, I would like to point out that the Bible is actually talking about the Tzaraath condition, not leprosy (mistranslation by early english texts).

  • As powerful as this video is, it does not do justice to the situation. A year ago, I had to sort through 12 hours of this footage (same trip, different year) and I could not bear to watch the monitor for more than an hour at a time.

These kids (the ones you see in this video are some of my friends) spend their money, that coiuld otherwise be spend on Playstations and iPhones, to travel to India and help those who suffer. By doing so, they provide much more than bandages and smiles.

  • i respect yall

  • All respect for the work.

However it is possible to both cure and stop people from getting leprosy.

Only thing holding it back in India is that people are too poor, you should have helped them with medicine also.

Btw im a nurse myself and all this bringing religion into your help is quite wrong in my oppinion, why not help people without preaching? You know they will become ven more outcasts in India if they turn christian.

  • as a lady said from another vid, "leprosy can reach your body, but not your spirit".

  • Leprosy is catching, but only if your genes are predispositioned to get it.

  • isn't it something like, you have to spend about a decade or more around the disease to actually catch it?

  • did you hear about the football game @ the leper colony? there was a HAND OFF, on the 50 yard line...I know, that was a funny as a juke box in the leper colony playing "what's eating ya?"

  • has this got anything to do with the peace corps? i'd love to do what you've done.

  • Did you """"""""SAVE""""""" them? lol

  • i agree with you. they could have just made those people take a bath and teach them bout cleanliness.

teach a man to fish rather than giving them the fish

  • but they feel loved when people without leporasy are not afraide of them
