  • The tactics besides from your position wiether you go 1st, straight ahead or 3rd to forth exit is = LOOK ON THE AHEAD ROAD WHEN THE CAr COMES IN ROUND IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO, THIS CAR WILL BLOCKed THE OTHER CAR from other road...........

  • for those flat roundabout, can u go on them?

  • Yeah its annoying when people dnt indicate. im coming up to my practical :S

  • I have seen some roundabouts where it tells you to go inside lane for going straight ahead and some saying outside lane for straight ahead.

  • this is the worst part of my driving Roundabouts

  • What if you're cycling and no one on your left will give way to you?

  • Half the time people don't even fucking indicate, so you don't know if they're coming in front of you or what.

  • fak this screwed me up. On my road test i failed because i did this wrong. To make a left you go around.

    What i did:

Signal shoulder mirrors then i made a left..... Without going around.Luckly their where no cars their.I failed because of that one move.I wasn't nevrous or anything it's just that i never went on those before.... I got another test today in 2 hours. I hope i pass. This will be my 3rd time...

  • @crunkinthis good luck

  • SUCHA BIG COON LOOOOOOOOOL

  • do you need your own car for the exam/practical?

  • @JustFlameAHoliic no, however if your driving instructer thinks your completely useless then he/she wont let you use theirs

  • @TheSouthpawBassist seriously?

  • @sweid01 well my instructor wont let you use his car if he doesnt think you good, or if you havent had a lesson in like 5-6 weeks

  • Wow that roundabout has a lot of potholes!

  • accoladedriver.co.uk

  • Bondage and sadomasochism?

  • wrong or none indicating causes most problems on rdbs

  • @HairyAssHaulier What do you suggest people do then? Not indicate so no-one knows where you're intending to go?

  • @joey19930303 do it correctly simple as that

  • @HairyAssHaulier To do it correctly you need to indicate.

  • @joey19930303 of course you need to do so, what I am saying is: do indicate correctly

  • @HairyAssHaulier Oops, sorry. I just re-read your original comment. I thought you said NOT to indicate.

    Doh!

  • @joey19930303 no worries mate

  • I wonder how long this guy has been an instructor for, he looks quite experienced.

  • BSM is a horrible driving school. Their employee's are taught how to string out lessons to get more money from pupils. They're also German owned now, 'British School of Motoring' HAH! Try GSM. If anybody is with BSM now, go to a private instructor you'll be better of financially.

  • @FakePlasticShrimp BSM = bull shit method LOL.

  • Is this Irish?

  • @shmuli9 English

  • @leapoffaith20 Interesting. The announcer has a rather peculiar accent, and the roundabout doesn't exactly look like a British "rind-a-bite".

  • @shmuli9 Actually she's Scottish, I'm probably going to have some Scottish people giving me evils for my last post.

  • @leapoffaith20 Ah, that makes sense. She DOES sound a bit Highlandish, and Scots Gaelic DOES have a lot of similarities with Irish Gaelic...

  • funny, in the beginning they say roundabouts are to keep the traffic going, while there is a short jam...

  • to the driving girls

If you feel to be chased, use a roundabout realising many circles

If the follower do the same....

Kisses from a frenchman driving school car and motorcycle instructor!

  • Agree with londonboyracer - not enough time spent on the complex roundabouts!

  • OMG, I'm 17 and drive a Motorbike, Roundabouts AREN'T that complicated! If you're not sure what lane you're in, go on the outside! Can't go wrong (Y)

  • if you want to take the 3rd exit Can I still use the left lane? or

    it depends the round about?

  • @nuramoboy if you want to take to 1st or 2nd exit you take the left lane but if you want to take the 3rd or 4th exit you need to take the right lane hope this helps

  • i passed my drivin test almost 2 yrs ago and i have not been drivin since... now i am forgettin how 2 drive... i will probably get a second hand car... hope so really

  • Ergk. I HATE roundabouts. Near where I live there literally dotted everywhere :/ But I think I'm quite good with them :)

  • @bennyboy9012 Wait till it's replaced with traffic lights, like they're doing here.

Then you don't move at all and traffic cues up further.

Learn to love them, because when they're gone: add 50% to your travel time.

  • i cut the lanes when there's no cars

  • @u9941843 Thank's for that lol, but there is no marking on the roundabout, and there's only the right hand lane and the left hand lane approaching the roundabout.

p.s what the fuck is a 'prople'????

  • @Felicity300 Prople is just people with a typo.

If there is no lane markings on the roundabout, you approach as in this video. If there is two lanes without any arrows then use your common sense based on what is in this video. The left hand lane will be used for left or ahead, and the right hand lane for turning right.

Sometimes though this is different and in this case they use arrows. You use whichever lane the arrow tells you depending on where you want to go.

  • Ok wtf?? where i live u have arrows painted on the ground to let u no which lane to approach the bigish roundabouts in.. and i've got my test 3 weeks today.. and the only one that confuses me still is going straight on. i mean in this video she says to approach in the left hand lane, but here theres arrows in the right hand lane pointing forward and right and in the left hand lane it's just pointing left :s. xox

  • @Felicity300 Hi Felicity. That basically means that the prople going left are being kept separate from the rest of the roundabout. On the roundabout you'll probably see the markings that keep them separate. If there's more than one lane marked for straight on just keep in the left one and remember to indicate before you come off - then you won't go far wrong. Hope that helps!

  • To deal with busy and often annoying pointless roundabouts;

1.Rev the engine to peak power (6000 rpm).

    2.Position the steering straight.

3.When a gap appears, take your foot off the clutch.

4.Promptly leave the exit of your choice.

  • The concept of roundabouts is to keep traffic moving. NO! What they actually do is cause congestion, accidents and road rage. Therefore, roundabouts need to really go. I drive about 50 000 miles a year, and often have to use roundabouts and they cause me a great deal of stress. In the modern day world, roundabouts really do not work at all. They should all be replaced with traffic lights or in the case of mini roundabouts, conventional junctions. Roundabouts are my number one pet hate.

  • Passed with BSM first time no minors!

  • @arnaxsas so your not the one that rolled it then?

  • @jeffdrives Hahaha I remember my driving instructor tol me about it hahaha :D

  • i have a problem with big roundabouts, loool always i do some mistakes :)

  • That's gotta take some getting used to, to drive on the left side of the road.

  • @Bens32001 we would say the same to someone driving on the right hand side!

  • ranger rover at 2.34 was gonna perform a drive by

  • Fuck dat shit, get a nissan skyline r33 and drift that muthafukin roundabout!!!

  • @StephenDundas4267 lol I can imagine, "Step 1: Rev the engine very high in preparation for the drift. Step 2: Pull the handbrake, making sure the tail end of the car is out. Step 3: Lightly adjust the throttle while keeping the car in the redline to maximize time savings. Step 4: If you miss your exit, go around again!" haha if only it were that easy..

  • The roundabouts were the nightmarish to me, I could not pass the test 4 times, messed up only in the round abouts, thanks to the constant positive encouragement of my intructor, always appreciating about my all other skills, and thoughly trained and practised me on roundabouts so I passed the test now easily crossing multilane double roudabouts. So guys although everyfailure dips you down psychologically and crushes your self-esteem, so never give up, try again, success is certainly yours

  • oh dear godddddd i swear if i dont pass sooner or later i will sue bsm!!!!!!

  • @SamiaLOLZ bsm dont care if you pass or fail, they want you to take as long as possible as the instructors get more money. its because bsm is a franchise so their instructors dont get a salary they make more money the more lessons they instruct

  • @Joe2142 tell me about it! my instructor seems nice but i really don't get after about 100 lessons how i am not yet test ready.

  • whats a "rownd-abuwt"??

  • nothing we want sorry this sucks

  • actually you should drive around roundabouts sideways

  • is it true gary lamb is a bsm instructor of over 20 years?!

  • we have these in the U.S. and they are multi laned to so it is very confusing and there aren't any stops but yeild signs so people blow throgh them like nothing so you have to be very cousious.

  • the roundabouts are there so u DONT have to stop.. The driving in this car.. stop.. watch right and left! and then move in to the roundabout.. Ya you should stop if there is a car coming from the right.. Hope you understand when i meen :P

  • for an idea on multi-lane roundabouts have a look at 'cruise control' page (blue peugeot) on facebook. there's a couple of good videos there of doing them.

  • I hate roundabouts. I can't think quick enough to respond to their signals and I'm scared people will forget to indicate and crash into me!

  • @toothlesstanner omg same here!! :'( roundabouts are my only down fall n im expected to book my practical within a month!! :'( i hate the big roundabouts, where all the cars are going in differnt directions n my instructors saying 'go now!' n im too scared n in a daze to react quik enuff then he makes me feel like shit n goes 'u cuda gone then, and then!' :'( im too damn hesitant

  • @PandaBoo92 It's like reading my own thoughts hahah. Don't worry, I have my license now! In the test, we only went on little roundabouts but I'm from Australia so yeah... but I STILL hate the roundabouts. I am the most hesitant person ever and my instructor used to say 'You could have gone' and the cars even beeped at me!!! Just keep at it, if I can pass my test, I'm sure you can too cos im a retard hahaha ;)

  • @toothlesstanner aww! :( dnt call ur self a retard lol aah ive had my fair share of being beeped at..:/ to the point where, once i was at a junction and this guy was beeping sooo unneccessarily and i was this close -> || <- to sticking a finger up loool XD but yh thanx for the advice! i feel better now even if i have to take the practical in about month's time :S :) ^^ x

  • @toothlesstanner i definetly agrre with you

  • Comment removed

  • @leapoffaith20 Oh, piss off fool. I passed my test first go and only have troubles with roundabouts. I've had my license for a year now and I rarely use roundabouts. Besides, I can do everything else just fine.

  • @toothlesstanner me tooo

  • yep...we do exactly the same here in australia. indicating left just before exit....well done. good instructional video.

  • I'm doing OK with roundabouts, but it's usually really busy, small roundabouts that I hate.

I seem to hesitate too much because there are cars everywhere and many of them don't bother to indicate.

I had a lesson today in town during the school run, so it was extremely busy. I probably had quite a few opportunities to go but I wasn't sure if some cars were going to turn off or go around, because they didn't bother indicating!

  • they should really do a video for multi lane round-abouts, these ones are a piece of piss.

  • @londonboyracer trueee

  • @londonboyracer hahaha london boy racer? man what the fuck are you brits thinking!!!??? this is driving a fucking car not maneuvering 5 spaceships at once!! if you british fuckheads would actually learn how to drive properly you wouldnt need these useless videos!

  • @ebebimik when you are actually old enough to drive, I may consider answering your question. Until then, Fuck. Off. :D

  • @londonboyracer shut ur throat brit!! i been driving for 6 years now, fucking cunt.. xD think of something else and then get back to me.. ok brit? :p

  • @ebebimik if you consider driving round a roundabout, like driving '5 spacehsips at once' then i very much doubt that you drive. That or you are a complete imbecile.

  • I done my first lesson on tuesday also but I am not up to roundabouts just turning lol

  • why does he change up like a tard

  • Comment removed

  • that is the best way to change down

  • I got lost on a busy roundabout on my driving test last week.

I just kept going around in circles drastically asking my driving instructor "what should i do, what should i do???!!!".

Only time i have ever bottled anything in my life, and i failed : ( So easy aswell

  • keep left so someone can cutt you off when ur trying to go straight on.. good idea. deffensive driving yeah!

  • @gallonchris not sure what you are say but sound like you might not understand roundabouts

  • when my GPS is telling me off for missing my turning it reminds me of my instructor lol , it was a woman.

  • been having lessons with bms, about ten now, but every lesson is the same jst keep driving in the same area/roads n im not sure if im a rubbish drivers or bsm are ripping me off. plus im quite small so half the challenge is trying to sit comfortably and half actually driving..anyone else have these problems with bsm?

  • ask your instructor why you are using the same roads all the time. It maybe he wants you to get used to driving on those roads because they are quiet or good roads for newer drivers. It was a fair while before my instructor took me anywhere busy.

  • bad instructor then, i started on 60 roads and we've been through 4 different town's and village's and i've done 8 lessons BSM or most big companies are a complete rip off, go private and although you pay a couple of quid more a lesson the benefits are great :)

  • I'm with private, see my other post, and mine are £30 for the 1st 3 hours, and £17 an hour thereafter

  • I had my first lesson on Tuesday and he took all around Wiltshire.

  • Nope, i'm with a small local company, had my first ever driving earlier, for an hour and hlf, and already the instructor is taking me onto a main road next week, i've done starting and stopping, changing gears, and junctions, in 1 and a half hours, and stalled once. Quite happy :) lol

  • these ones are easy theres some monster big ones where i live ,cars go like 30mph+ round , the less busy the easier

  • driving examiners in uk are very tight and harsh

  • my test on 20th october, everything else is good except my roundabouts, wish me luck

  • i just had my first lesson lol i freaking hate using the clutch every time moving the freaking car for light or roundabout.. GOOD LUCK :) dont know you but meh, stay calm lol n be ur self dont try impressing the douch next to ya :P good luck gain lol :P

  • I was like that on my first lesson, ive only had 17 lessons in total. Hopefully i should pass first time, ive managed 2 squeeze in another three lessons so im improving on roundabouts. ohh and thanks for good luck yeh

  • Haha my test is on the 20th as well!!! I hate roundabouts too...

  • No, I hope you fail.

  • anyone elce think she speaks at 100 miles per hour

  • Good bit of advice for all learners: when you get to a roundabout side step the clutch with the accelerator, turn the wheels opposite lock and just let the rear end drift right out with the occasional use of the handbreak. Doing this on your test will show the examiner your skill.... GOOD LUCK!! PS a "burnout" at the end of the test will add a finishing touch.

  • lmao. classic :)

  • a friend of mine used to build roundabouts for a living but gave it up because he said that he felt like he was going round in circles with the whole job...

  • is this a joke or real? or both?

  • just a joke haha. Anyway how come you are watching a vid on roundabouts when i`m pretty sure you don`t have them in the USA? :)

  • lolol

  • i've got a question..pls someone help me out..

do you have to always use the clutch when you use the break?? if yes, which one will go first?? not for full stop yeah but when you just want to give way, i mean, if you will only stop for 1-2 seconds..

  • If you are going to just slow down momentarily, you take your foot off the accelerator to use the break gently, then put your foot back on the accelerator to raise your speed back up to what it was. So no clutch. The clutch is used to change gear, which slows the car engine down.

If you need to slow down more, you take your foot off the accelerator to brake gently and use the clutch to go down a gear to further slow the engine. Brake and clutch together is 4 emergency stop.

    Hope this helps.

  • yes, u do need to use the cluch if u r going 2 stop, even if itis only for 1-2 seconds, if u do not the car will stall

  • use the break first, then put the clutch down wen the engine starts rumbling. then go into first gear before u move off again. if u only need to slow down, and not stop completely, then u wont need to use the clutch, unless u slow down enough to require a gear change, in which case press the clutch and drop down a gear or 2, then back on the accelerator.

  • Ah yes. BSM, the guys who have, let's say, 'socially problematic' instructors. There was one I had, a bloke in his 60s who chatted incessantly, took calls on his mobile when supposedly instructing, crammed as many people as possible in his car during one lesson, moaned about his money worries, worse still, provided details of his sex life, made racist and sexist comments about passers-by. All this when he's supposed to be teaching. What a awful job it must be to attract that calibre of person.

  • wow you must be a boring person . I'd love a instructor like that

  • Quite the opposite. He was a creepy twat. I ended up sacking him. It was either that or giving him a punch to the throat.

  • not when i paid to have them teach me. you must be one of those who dont go to college.

  • @kangapantz please tell me where he lives so i can beat that mutha fucka up!! i may not be with BSM (LDC, if anyone's heard of it lol) but from wat u say, he sounds like an absolute douche!!!! i hopoe he gets a learner who gets him involved in a collision on his sidee -______

  • I'm on my 8th lesson, every time i go on roundabout i just forget everything and panic!

  • You're not the only one dude, it took me 5 lessons to get it right X(

  • I think the instruction is made way too technical. It suggests at the start that the varying roundabouts require differing approaches and thereby confusng the learner driver. Another point is the fact that the situation is not realstic. Most roundabouts are like the whacky races and ths instruction could do with some tips on dealing with this latter situation.

  • Well said. An empty roundabout is one thing. A roundabout full of cars is another, especially when you're in lane 2 and need to take the third exit.

  • nervous, I have got my test in 3hrs... I should be fine

  • How did you get on?

  • ....narrated by a non-english woman...so ticks all the PC boxes.......

  • what accent is it then???

  • having a Scottish accented person has nothing to do with being PC. Or are u just retarded so you didn't realise that?

  • This has actually really helped me :D

  • i'm lucky my dad is a qualified instructor so I don't have to pay but i hate driving and its hard not to argue back haha.

  • i like these smaller roundabouts but i cant get on with large roundabouts i,ve just passed my test but i keep having near misses on lareger 3 or 4 lane roundabouts some have multiple lanes to exit i keep getting beeped by behind cars for cutting across a little bit i need serious help any body?

  • I suggest you take some more lessons, with an instructor who teaches you how to deal with large roundabouts?

  • yeh i find it hard, i sht my self, im still taking lessons, ITS STRESSING me out

  • i know what you mean im taking my driving lessons and shitting myself i bet when i take the proper exam i will pass out behind the wheel

  • Thanks for the video. I've never been in a roundabout before, and my town JUST finished one and I have my drivers test tomorrow. I'm from america, but I just needed to know the turn signal rules. Thanks.

  • In roundabouts it seems very dependent on all drivers understanding right of way and confidently using the rules such when to signal and when not to. If someone signals on and off because of incomptence other drivers can easily get coinfused with the intent actions

  • It's easy really. Just ensure there are no cars coming at you from the right and you're away.

  • hmm excuse my ignorance, i'm from the USA, and since everyone here(except california for some reason) is to lazy to make vids like this i'm checking out the UK videos. Are roundabouts suppose to replace a US 4 way Intersection? It seems more effective then an intersection but a little more dangerous. In an American Intersection. Who is aloud to move is very clear and although it causes more traffic it allows everyone to pass confidently when their turn arrives.

  • It's very clear on a roundabout. You ALWAYS give way to traffic on your right. Depending on how far the next entrance to your right is, you might see traffic approaching the roundabout, and hence give way. Otherwise, you don't have right of way until traffic on the roundabout has passed you.

Some larger roundabouts also have traffic light systems. Unfortunately, this means when the lights are out, people don't treat them like roundabouts. Idiots. :/

  • Actually, you only give way to traffic on the right if you live in a left-hand-drive country. For those of us in right-hand-drive countries, the catch phrase is "look left and go" -- that is, you always give way to traffic on the LEFT.

  • Ah well yes, I made the flawed assumption that it was known that we were discussing left-lane-driving. But my point still stands: it's clear when you should give way and when you can go.

  • It should be. It's dismaying how many Americans are completely befuddled by these things. Those who live in those handful of places where they're commonplace know how to deal with them. Those that encounter one for the first time, well, they might as well be staring at an alien space ship. XD

  • Wrong!

  • yeah im from america and ive always wondered that too i think it is tho

  • i live in coralville iowa and we have like 10 of these there much better an there are never any accidents

  • thanks perfect lesson :=)

  • people make it look so easy

  • Thats cos it is when you get to know it.

  • i dnt have problems with roundabouts. on my test i went on 3 big roundabouts just got 1 minor for lane discipline b4 the third big roundabout. but he said follow the a106 it started on the left ended up on the right so i was like wtf!!???

  • u take your test at wanstead?

  • ye i did i pasd 2nd tym. Wansted is an ok area but the ppl that drive there can b such idiots sumtymz.

  • the only problem i have is how to give way to traffic i get confused sometimes

  • i need some help i booked my driving test last tuesday and now it is monday and i have still not received my conformation letter from the dsa is there any suggestions how long does it usually take also the dsa has no information on there website about how long it takes to receive your conformation letter

  • I work for BSM in Liverpool. Test confirmation can take up to 10 working days to arrive. Good luck with your test :)

  • Thanks for youre comment Emma i really appreciate it

  • Where I live no one uses their indicators in roundabouts lol...

  • Let me guess... You live in the Netherlands?

  • If your on a roundabout turing right and your in the right hand lane about to turn left to exit the roundabout, when suddenly theres a car in the left hand lane continuing to go around so its blocking you from turning, what do you do? do you continue going around again to exit safely, or do you brake slightly and let it pass you or what?

  • If there is no car following you then it may be safe to brake slightly to left the car on the left pass. If there is a car behind you it may be safer for you to continue round the roundabout and then safely take the exit

  • is that shane diesel?

  • not all rounabouts are like this. for example what if i wanted to take an exit that was on the ledt hand side but was not the first left exit how would i do that

  • stay in the left lane and when you want to turn off indicate just befor

  • this is what i dread the most, making another attempt to pass next week. always get so scared when approaching a round about.

  • Why is it that the car at the turn on to the roundabout before your turn always accelerates onto the roundabout so fast that you miss your chance to pull out? If only everyone pulled onto the roundabout slowly all cars would be able to pull out and the traffic would flow nicely - its all Gordon Brown's fault the one eyed get.

  • BSM- Bull.Shit.Method

  • Why do you say that? That's bollocks!

  • lmfao

  • lol
