Why is Jimmy Bowskill not embraced by blues (and blues-rock) fans ? ? He's only about 21 years old and has these vocal/writing/guitar-playing skills ? He should be a household name in the blues community in America. Eric Clapton, INVITE THIS KID TO YOUR 2013 CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL ! ! !
i just saw jimmy last night in huntsville... he was AMAZING. every part of his band is incredible. he copies NO ONE and if you ahve never seen him live... shut up with it cuz live your speechless. he can play that guitar like nobodies business and my jaw hurts from smiling so dam much. he is young.. maybe not handsome but HE IS A WICKED CANADIAN ARTIST. we should be proud!

If you are making decisions based on a $150.00 camera ( like most of the posts on YT you need to get off your butt and go to a show... this kid is awesome live!!!!!
Who cares what brand guitar this AMAZING young musician is playing? Honestly, some folks have nothing better to do than argue about meaningless trivia.LISTEN to this young man- He's BRILLIANT.There's hope for the future of blues in his every note as well as his soulful singing.THANKS smalltownstrings, you made my day!
OK...he's playing a Les Paul. It sure doesn't sound like jazz licks coming out of that Les Paul...it sounds like some absolutely kickass blues/rock badass licks coming out of that Les Paul. If the guitarist is talented you can hand him just about any brand of guitar and they will make it sound good.
Jimmy...when are you going to come down out of the cold and play some gigs in North Carolina? : - )
I've Loved this extraordinairy young Man since i first heard him perform the BEST version of a Robert Johnson Classic (Hellhound). He was then 12. (although Jimmys' voice would've told otherwise)
So GREAT to hear him playing his own totally original tunes and playing as good as ever.
I Love yer style Jimmy. Dont let the dick-heads get you down. You are surrounded by much Love!
Would you describe Jimmy Page as a jazz musician? Perhaps not. Jeff Beck? Perhaps. Listen to Blow by Blow. Back in the day, GLP was the axe of choice for both musicians.

So you like the les paul just because bands such as the Who LZ etc used them?
The les paul body is the worst design for playability of them all; the neck, the beck joint, the position of the 3-way switch, the strap button (top). All are flaws.
Of course its all about preference, but still; les paul is a jazz guitar. People gotta stop trying to make it a metal guitar. leave that to the explorers and the razor-backs.
I normally don't comment on these kinds of things but this time i feel to incline to. I am from Jimmy's Home Town Peterborough, I work for a local production company there. Jimmy is an amazing musician no matter of his age he is just plain good and the fact that u have nothing to do but be a loser wine and try to insult him on something you clearly know nothing about indicates to me that your jealous of this young kids talent. PS Almost everyone around here has a les paul.
@thestrugglewithin So, you are telling that Les Paul himself, that played blues himself, actually should been playing jazz instead?
Because he made a jazz guitar according to you?
You can play all kinds of music on all kinds of guitars, you can even play jazz on a explorer or razorbacks! The Gibson ES guitars are more for jazz, but they are great rock and blues guitars too.
i just saw this guy last night. he's 17 now. a couple of times during the performance the entire crowd would stop moving, and stare, jaws just hanging. good fucking god these guys are awesome. that is all. as you were.

Rap sucks. Rock takes genius. Great job - and don't listen to those other cats - bet they don't know a C flat from a B sharp (you'll get the joke if you are a player) - Peace.
I always wondered why not play a nice riff more then once? I like it! It's a solid foundation...why do a hundred licks all different and get a big pile of scatter-rama? scoobie doo be doo, scoobie doo be doo, be doo- be doo waa. twice
well... try playing a guitar in three or four different tunings, you can come up with quite a variety of chords, and if your lucky you can find one that sounds good that isnt a "valid" chord... thus originality... just my two cents
I laugh at all the "bigshots" criticizing this guy. No one has or ever will know or care who YOU are...your jealousy is apparent and embarrassing. This video alone has been viewed almost 24,000 times!! Get used to it, this guy's good, and you're nobody!

Do you honestly not realise the hugely important part the Les Paul has played in ROCK history since the 1970's? Obviously not.
Check out some obscure bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Guns 'N Roses, and maybe you'll get the idea.
