  • I`m not sure but i think that one of the members of this perth band went off to england and played in skrewdriver in about 1984.

  • @ManFromMelbourne

Thats right Murray went to england and ended up in the band.

  • was the security guy seen sinking the second doctor martin into the bloke @ 3min 55 & seen clearly with ciggy in mouth @ 3min 58 joe ellis?

    Regards Andy.

  • thanks M8 ill have a look

  • Interesting analysis. I don't think the motives behind things like this are any different to what spurs on today's emos and goths, etc etc. It's simply expressed differently. Funny to see how they deflect and justify different aspects.

Don't seem to do much in a whole-hearted, responsibility accepting way. For the most part, they seem to want all the fire and none of the heat, and the ideologies they supposedly stood for just seemed like a good vessel from which to be angry.

  • Go Murray!

    RAHOWA!

  • yeah qatd did a gig last week, would of been great to go to!aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi!

  • Pardon me ignorance, but what year was this? I do remember the Hay Street Mall being full of skinheads circa 82, and talk of brawls and stuff.

  • Yeah I remember Hay Street Mall skinheads too circa '82. I was ~14, drinking rum-and-coke thru a straw in alleyways lol! Those were the days....

  • @Stumblefuck

I was 15 and right in the centre of this scene...

Hay Street Mall Skins from Langford and Lynwood...

We'd regularly punch on with the Young Turks and smashed the Perth Concert Hall (B52's) and Embassy Ballroom (Straycats)...

That's me (between head shaves) at age 15 at 1:06 (walking up the stairs to Adrian's) and at 6:45 inside watching the Q & D...

I remember this being filmed but, as I was living in squats at that time, I never got the chance to see the doco...

    THANKS!!!

  • @Zoink555

He's a fucken loser wannabe eh Zoink?

    Pathetic...

  • @Hammersley1967 He wants me to go to Perth. What's in Perth "Abo's and Cows" I'd go to New York before I'd go to Perth. Anyway I am going to NY soon for a stir. ;-)

  • @Zoink555

He wants you to go to Perth?

There's one born every minute, eh Zoink?

    And he's a fake...

  • @shorn70

GIven they referenced an article in the Weekend News dated early 1981 I'd suggest it was indeed 1981. I was at Hollywood High then and the antics of the Quick and the Dead were very well documented then. I remember the Shenton Park skins as having a fearsome reputation. That said, as I watch this I can't stop thinking that all these nasty punks look more like a mob of puppies, hardly intimidating at all!

  • Oh yeah - I still have the original QATD Single too! I reckon it was their best.

  • Fucking funny stuff. I used to hang out at bumflap's andrew boreds house all the time when we were punx.

    Too funny.

Perth was pretty nasty back then tho.

Stupid tryhard skins fighting for no reason.

    Yeah I said it.

Recognised a few people I know in that vid.. Tank.. I think Batman too?

  • chomper6 he was known as bumflaps!hows his herpe's going?hahahahha if ya look at him talking you can see em.

  • Good times!!!Great days!!!If you weren't there then who cares!!!You missed the best years of your youth & don't even know it.

    Oi oi oi!

  • if you werent there, werent us, you wouldnt understand. we were just lettn off steam- makin noise noise and bein "foul mouthed yobs". no-one tried to change the world. the adrians nite club gig was part of an insurance job, too, by the way.

  • good stuff!!!!!!

All hail the Quick and The Dead and all that other 80's Aussie punk!!!!

  • OMG! HAHAHAHA!!!

This is my dad's band! he's lead singer!

    Andrew Baird!

(Andrew 'Bored' as he was knowen)

  • LOL that's funny! Good onya Chompers!

I have another docco, I'm gonna post it unless someone insists I don't coz the way I think, this stuff is so "unavailable" and rare that everyone deserves access. Fuck elitism. QATD were a great old Perth band and I wanna spread it around!

  • thanks for poasting this man!

At some stage my dad'll make a post.

  • I'm just about to post the other one, with Mike Willessee. I don't think it's a problem in any way. Your dad's band was pretty cool. A pity that other bands at the time weren't immortalized on video, such as The Hitler Youth... ha ha...

  • @Stumblefuck what happened to the willesee doc

  • @chomper6

thats pretty fuckin sick haha, if you dont mind me asking - what's he like now?

  • @Martaekwon haha oh you wouldn't be able to tell he used to be in a punk rock band from looking at him :P

But I guess he's fairly similar considering it's been about 30 years.

  • i was IN this band once...never made a cent, actually used to cost me money. (gday to muz, hope u see this.still got clockwork refrigeration?)

  • Hey, can I ask you an honest question? Did QATD have any type of political agenda at the time? I know that a few years later some of the members were in the RAC band White Noise and also moved to England and joined Skrewdriver. Please respond. Thanks.

  • the politix was more for shock than anything else, punx were shocking by being (pathetic) anarchists so skinheads in our world/crowd had to be something else shocking, enter nazi's, in spite of us never having been to germany to join the nazi party. the band were just National Socialists in later years (just NON-international socialists.) only the bass player was ever in skrewdriver the guitarist was an original from the band a flock of seagulls.the rest of us were just into making noise.

  • nah they were just pretenders apart from murray holmes who is still fairly active on the scene.White noise members who ere in quatd were non political also apart from Jim King(singer)im not sure if he still involved in the scene but none of the other guys are, cheers.

  • hahahaha i used to follow those guys nice post!

  • And I must add, all they do is listen to very crappy crap "music" poorly recorded while getting drunk with each other. Apparantly they believe this will somehow change the world and make a difference. Today's Skins spend alot of time on the net chatting up dumb chicks in America...

  • Skinheads spend more time beating each other up than the so called "mud races" they hate with their White Power. Obessed with Nazism and Hitler, they are just a bunch of spoilt rich kids rebelling against their parents behaving badly pretending they are some kind "warriors" despite being easy to beat up

  • They're playing tonight WOOOOOOOO

  • c'mon on the skinheads!

  • classic footage! early 80s i guess...yer i saw QATD on a flyer for a gig this year playing with other RAC type bands in Melbourne....back from the dead.

  • You must be kidding me?

  • Nice find.
