Sonic can actually get to that area shown near the beginning. It takes some work, but it is possible. The speed shoes help.

Actually that first bit that you said is only avaliable to Knuckles and tails is incorrect. Sonic can get there too. To do it break the first rock after the slope and the spring is underneath. Stand to the left of it and spindash into it. One of the following trees has a spring that lets you reach that area with sonic.

no just gamecube. SMC plus is for xbox and something else, I think PS2

Yes sonic mega collection plus is avaliable for PC aswell as Xbox and PS2. Sonic Mega Collection is avaliable for gamecube.

Thanks again for making these. You're a stud player. I learned a few tricks and secrets I never knew in the games. These bring back fond memories. I'm old enough to remember when the first Sonic came out if that says anything. lol

you dont need equipment you can download movies or use a webcam or use allot of pics in movie maker hehe or a screen recorder you can download it man easy!!

Heh, pretty nifty. I do know of two places where you could have picked up some Emeralds, but I assume you're just going for the bare-bones, nothing special, just-get-through-the-level-as-Knuckles-while-pointing-out -the-differences-from-Sonic's-version type of walkthrough.
On another note, it's pretty hard to read the text in a lot of the parts... especially at the part with the rising fire and against the Act 2 boss.

Yeah. YouTube f*cked up the quality on this BIG time! I just couldn't pick a good color for the text, so I chose white. Angel Island has a weird pallet, but the other levels will be easier to pick colors.
You can get 2 Chaos Emeralds in Knuckles's Act 2? Or did you mean Act 1?

Act 1. The easy-to-find ones (under the swings at the start and dropping down past the spikes just after the forest-burning at midway).
