I have been on some JT concerts so far and what i absolutely love about this band is: They never sound the same. Even its the same song their playing it is always something different.
Older people always complain about young people listening to crap music, I'm 23 years old and i enjoy this music!
I love jethro tull. Ian Anderson is probably the best on-stage musical performer that I know of, but something about these live videos I'm watching bother me. Many of them, including this one, show very convincing signs of lip singing at certain points. One video I just watched looked/sounded like he was lip singing most of the song and really singing only a certain refrain every few minutes. Anyone know anything about this? Do they do this on purpose? Am I just seeing/hearing things?
@intuit13 There is absolutely no lip-sync here - this is the 70's. If the video appears to off from the audio, it's to do with the film, not the performance.
@madastrota Well, I understand that the video is old. I was taking that into account. It's more the way it sounds. I forgot which video it was that first made me think this, but there was a complete difference between when he was singing while playing guitar and jumping around and when he was singing solo (perfect while jumping around etc, more "live" sounding solo). I'm sure there's some other explanation tho.
@intuit13 To my knowledge Tull never mimed concerts like this, only the occasional TV spot, and that was because the show wanted their live version to be identical to the pop hit that they were showcasing
This song I used to play over and over again from when I had it on 8-track to now on CD! I just love Jethro Tull...still today my favorite band. I saw Jethro Tull play here in St. Louis a few years ago and Ian Anderson still looks like a hunk like he did 30 years ago. WOW. He was still in great physical shape playing the flute like it was back in the earlier days. He is great! Jethro Tull is and will always will be a legend! I will always be a fan.... Thanks, Love the video!
His energy is infectious. He makes me want to pick my guitar up and never put it down again. This is showmanship at its best - subtle charisma, passionate delivery, and just the right amount of off the wall madness! The word 'legend' is bandied around a lot, but this guy takes the cake. Thanks for posting
I just love this music..sends chills in me....ever since I was a youngster..Knew then there was no other and never will be again..Long live Ian Anderson..So wish he didn't ever age..because I haven't due to his music..
best song ever.. :)

@madastrota correct - Jethro Tull are one of those bands who did it for real - they would never cheat the paying audience by miming
