guys i want to ask something.. my rottweiler is extremely powerful at 14 months old, 122 pounds! but im waiting for him to become 18 months to starting pulling weights because i don't want to harm any of his joints.. but as a beginning how much weight should i let him pull? as much as he can handle? or should i start gradually? thanks a lot!
@MarioIsra cruelty my ass it's a sport that they need , they are working dogs. It's like saying making a quarter horse run a race is cruel because you're making them run to fast. They were bred for thtat.
i slao own a rottie and as a responsible owner keep her active and healthy. i have read others comments and am willing to eat my own words! it just dont look right surly there are ways and means.... you eldonjoker are just a fukin anal wart on the end of a juicy ringpiece! you can suk my pussy!
rotties were originally bred for herding & fightin but wen that died out they pulled carts for their owners carrying goods & stuff like that, so even tho its just tires not a cart it isn't cruelty they're big dogs and they've done pulling for hundreds of years a few of tires isn't gonna bust its hips, i have 1 of my own & if she wasn't such a punk & was too afraid of carts id have her draggin those & other things for exercise but for now we settle for chasing kids lol kids throw chips wen done
They love to be given a task too. Its great exercise as long as you don't over work them. Its better to do this than to keep them caged up and let them get fat.
in all fairness, A- rotties r known for hip problems, making it drag stuff isnt healthy!. B- the rottie in the vidio isnt doing any work its just draggin along a bunch of tires! C- we have decent laws protecting our animals in this country it is rare to see that here, the rspca would be down on u like a ton of poo if u were found to be doing that here for a laugh! there are ways and means of ensuring a rottie has plenty of excercise plus it hardly looks civilised.
A: This resistance training will strengthen the hips of the rottie. Keeping your rottie caged up in fear of him hurting his hips is the worst thing you can do.
B: To the rottie, he is doing work. Anything that makes his owner proud of him, is work for the dog.
C: It does look bad but they sell these special dog harnesses for a reason. Not to torment your dog, to train and exercise him.
@minix775516 so this would help my rottys hips? she's only 6 months so they are ok but i want to keep her in good shape so her hips won't hurt. i've been looking for a way. do you think this would be best and if so, where did you get your info and stuff, so i can do more research. i have lots of land for her to roam on(HUUUUUUGE cage lots of room, like a 1/4 of an achr.)but would this help to?
Rotts aren't happy unless they have a job to do, and this is what they were bread for--pulling shit. (And guarding shit..) This guy should be awarded a medal for not making his WORKING dog lay around an apartment all day like so many people do. Then they try to find an outlet for their energy, tear shit up, or attack. I'd be on edge too if I was cooped up all day ;) Keep it up man, sweet dog.
I have a rottie too and she has quite a thing for sleeping and laying around on the floor like a corpse all day and she's very calm. But she does have a whole backyard for running around like mad and playing with a pitbull.
i dont agree to this but i do understand rottie's love doin that, they like to be worked but still they're are other ways to keep your rottie entertained
some dogs need to be active i no where your coming from but some need the muscles used more than others and rotts just happen to be 1 of them working breeds need to be more active, if it was a bull mastiff would you really say the same and rotts are stronger, its a working breed and this guy isnt cruel just a stupid trainer lol
