  • Incredible balance and fluidity from this master (his movements are so subtle and graceful)! I hope to be able to continue to pursue Pa Kua and achieve a fraction of his ability one day!

  • This is the BEST BA GUA I have seen!

  • Dang man that is some Buttery Discipline, for reallio

  • wow that old man moves with grace

  • da fck is 8 palms .. bet wing chun or tai chi can kick its ass

  • @lance1236451

better learn just in case you run into a whirling circle specialist aka baguazhang.

  • @lance1236451 8 palms is known as bagua (zhang) ,, it is considered effective for fighting and is known for its footwork.

  • @lance1236451 the fact that you say something like that just proves how much of an idiot you are. baguazhang is one of the three most predominant internal arts in china, alongside Xing Yi AND TAI CHI. The three arts go hand in hand.

So next time, if you're unsure of your position in a discussion, it's probably best you just shut the fuck up and inform yourself before you look like an idiot.

Yours Sincerely, from someone who actually has informed himself.

  • His balance is impeccable. It really goes to show how fundamental and undeniably important proper footwork and breathing is. It's no wonder people spend years just working into a proper circle walking technique.

  • its true, footwork is extremely important. not to mention cente of balance to go with the two you mentioned. if theres no balance then the footwork can only get you so far, ^^

  • too bad this excellent clip is marred by the T&A pop up at the beginning and the T&A banner on the side. FLIRT NOW!

  • IS there any relation to The Old 8 Mother Palm to the Cheng style?

  • Absurd he can move like that at his age...not kinda human

  • I am 61 years old, been studying martial arts for over 40 years, and teaching for over 30. There are some people I do not have the energy to teach anymore. Therefore I am sick that day. I understand completely.

  • Sun Zhijun is a force of nature! How on earth can he still be moving like an eighteen yr old?!...Astounding!

  • Because he does Ba Gua!!!

  • its understandable to see it ur way, but considering how old jackie chan is he too still moves like he always did. ^^ as well as jet li. treating ur body right can take you a long way

  • First time I've seen this. His co-ordination is absolutely perfect. .Very impressive.

  • Is this the full form? Or is it actually sections put together?

  • Full form

  • @bruce72 Looks to me like these are the external 8 palms and not a form, basically the fundamentals based on the 8 trigrams and 5 elements. There are also matching internal palms for each of these.

  • @GodsAmericanNative no these are the 8 old palms (lao ba zhang) they are the 8 palm changes of Sun's Cheng Bagua, There are also 8 turning palms, linked 8 palms and 64 palms, as well as many auxillary exercises, 2 man practices and weapons etc.

  • @bruce72 uhhh hi. Wanted to ask something if you don't mind. I believe I remember reading somewhere that Baguazhang relates to the 64 trigrams of the I Ching. Does this mean that it directly relates to Taoism? Just wondering.

  • @woodwalk Oh , thanks man.

  • xie xie

  • master Sun now is 75 years old.but he's very healthy and still teach disciples each day.I'm learning the spear from him now. every time when he perform the forms for teaching us,he looks like a young man.he's realy amazing!

  • I've heard he is very ill and is no longer teaching students - is this correct?

  • it depends. when don't want teach someone-- he's ill. when he like teaching someone he's as strong as a bull.

  • chinese people are known for having a very high lying ability.

in other words, they are insecure.

  • I am the inner circle disciple of master Sun. He is really strict teaching us all movement and gestures. He says that martial arts especiall Bagua must be very accurate. Otherwise, you won't apply the techniques appropriate.

He is perfect, as also he is over 70 years old. But he still performs as good as he was 40. Because master Sun never stopped training for the past 10s of years.

He is the real treasure of Bagua

  • just started klearning this form very inspiring especially for the age. very smooth, graceful and technicaly sound

  • the Eight mother palms this teacher is very Good in deed,

  • TWO THUMBS UP

  • *bows*

Immense .. so beautifull, so quick, so gracefull ...

    Wow

  • Like the Taiji Chuan, the Ba Gua need more passion! Great video!

  • I had to find that post..good eye ;)

  • It's a great form, I've started to learn it and hope to be able to perform it in about a month (of course by no means close to the level in the video, I have a lot to learn yet). Sun Zhijun is one of the best Baguazhang masters I ever saw. Thank you very much, Bruce72 for sharing it with us!

  • Wow. Awesome...and he is not even showing half of what he actually knows!!!

  • This is a Bagua master. He is awesome. I know a shorter form of this demo that I compete with, and I pray to god I can look that good at 70 something

  • Tell me more.
