  • What is this crowd?? Fans of Ricky Martin??? What the hell! They don't react at all, at this f@cking awesome song!!

  • great moment!

on the other hand, it seems too bright on the sky for a vampire song - it's always awkward to see this song performed by day =)

  • @ everyone. At least that "stupid" crowd bothered to turn up

  • Oh come on! *gasp* Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor are on stage singing "Bela Lugosi's Dead and the crowd isn't driving themselves into and apoplectic fit over it! The horror! The outrage! WHO CARES!?! You know what I saw? A music appreciating crowd watching what is a pretty good performance and showing their respect in a reserved, respectful way. Nothing wrong that. No need to drive yourself into a frenzy. No need to wail like a banshee. Just enjoy.

  • G0D this crowd..wft!!? C'mon people!!!! 0_o Do they even Realize they are standing before Peter Fuckin' Murphy like Seriously. What I wouldn't Give! and Trent to of course but Damn dude. who didn't hit there snooze alarms Lol geez.

  • Cool!

  • I want to light a fire under every person in the crowd. I would be going crazy if I was there experiencing this. Trent Reznor and Peter Murphy singing my favorite Bauhaus song? I'd actually DIE.

  • @SeleneSybil They're so apathetic. I want to revoke their goth cards.

  • @capnquack True, but I guess its just me being a fan girl at this point. :/

  • Joder, amo la voz de Peter Murphy!!! joder!

  • Dear god Mr. Murphy please don't throw rose petals at T Rez do you see those guns?

  • Holy jesus of the flat fields batman. This tops Michelle Pfiefer in a cat suit anyday.

  • i would of died to of seen this......

  • Holy shit! I would have exploded.

  • Peter is hilarious! Trent does a pretty good job here and just love TV on the Radio!

  • Maybe they were nailed to the floor ...

  • how have i not seen this? amazing

  • That makes me a happy guy. Three of my favorite musical talents, together for a great song of long ago.

  • does this crowd not appreciate what is actually happening here?

  • @cromlek I actually think they do. There are just very few in the crowd. I think this was some sort of rehersal or something. And you can clearly see the guys getting shivers when Peter kicks it into 10th gear in the end there. The guys in the crowd, I think, were guys working in the venue. Roadies and light people and stuff like that. They were clearly not 17 year old moshers. If I was in that crowd, I'd be the one silently peeing my pants with a grin on my face. So damn awesome.

  • @cromlek They absolutely do not know. I was at this show at Merriweather in DC. I was a bit confused myself at first too. It was before TV on the radio even opened for Bauhaus and it was real early in the evening still so not a lot of people were there or knew what was going down. I was an AMAZING show though and awesome performance. It was on the BYIT Summer tour.

  • @cromlek well its not really a song you can dance to. Really awesome song tho.

  • @gundambob646 I humbly suggest you should go to more Goth clubs, you'll find people dancing to it every single week, and rightly so.

  • @romeosdistress That is possible true. I personally never got into the culture of goths but the music is fantastic.

  • @gundambob646

You can stand to this song no problem! Its really a good song

  • they are to cool to even clap and show respect a least

  • tv on the radio plus trent reznor? seems like the circle closes finally...

  • OMG

  • waooo que genial combinacion por Dios, Peter que energiaaaaa

  • Who could dislike this its a fuckin MASTERPEICE!

  • Tv On The Radio + Peter Murphy + Trent Reznor ?? oH God...

  • Tv On The Radio + Peter Murphy + Trent Reznor ?? oH God......

  • grrr i love this

  • @ClassicBastard5150 *gives u a beer* keep flippin burgers slick!

  • Trent started industrial, Metallica's first album was the black album, beastie boys are furries who dress up like kitties and foxes changing each others diapers and screeching "yiff yiff" in delight, Iron Maiden travelled back in time starting the black plague and world war 2, I have a cat. No really, I have a cat. But I cannot come up with a cool name for her. :D

  • @Skeletonwitharaygun Your opinion infuriates me.

  • @dripdroptiks

Reznor's shitty "angry" vocals with this song infuriates ME.

  • The only thing that could make this better was if Bela himself came out on stage, but the crowd would still be too stupid to realize what was happening.

  • excellent

  • Peter Murphy is god and Reznor is ten thousand miles under him. By the way, he looks like Hugo Weaving in the matrix, ahahahah

  • I saw Nine Inch Nails open for Peter Murphy in 1990 at the Arcadia in Dallas.

  • LOVE!

  • When was this performance?

  • Wow, what a song. Trent Reznor is fantastic, but as soon as Peter Murphy's voice kicks in... Just devastating. Agreed. A seminal song for Gen X, along with Love Will Tear Us Apart. Respect.

  • saw this show in albany and would have killed for them to play this. ungrateful crowd indeed...

  • Two of my favorite voices in the musical world .. *_*

  • lovelyyy

  • amazing seeing them two together. wow , this is pretty hot. seen them tour together long ago ,nin opening for peter murphy ,ya long long ago. but seeing them performing together is fantastic

  • The king góthic is alive!!!

  • of all the B L D versions ive ever seen, this is the worst! sorry peter. trent, you fat rich sell out jock, go back to the mall and take this shitty band with you!

  • You want the first industrial? Fad Gadget. My favorite album: "Fireside Favorites"

  • this may be the finest rock song ever recorded

  • I came across this video years ago, to this day still one of my favorite videos I've ever come across.

Trent, Peter, TVOTR... Full bodygasm. Every. Time.

  • seriously wtf.... peter murphy + trent reznor and look at the crowd.. it's a joke.

  • @ruhpastasi this was a radio contest prize. about 100 people got to go in to check out the soundcheck and they did a couple songs together so it isn't a full/proper concert

  • @musicfreak611 i would donor an organ to see them live together only for a single song. that might explain the situation quite right i believe.

  • This entire crowd... Oblivious...sad

  • Excellent!!!! almost felt like I was there =]

  • peter please stop being the tongue of iblis...

  • N 1 Gotic :)

  • Peter Murphy is so obscured by Reznor's colossal shadow, he can hardly be seen.

  • @S4BIO Not on THIS song

  • @scodan666 - Ok, I'll give you that. I was speaking in terms of the big picture.

  • Pretty fucking cool.

  • Reznor had to read the lyrics, lame as the poseur crowd.

  • REznor has to read the lyrics. Lame as the poseur crowd.

  • why is peter always so high lol

  • Pure brilliance.

  • "godfather of Industrial Rock" ?? No the whole point of industrial music was it was anti guitar rawk. The term "industrial rock" is a non sequitur. Besides Trent is of the 90s generation when alternative music somehow went mainstream. The real origins of industrial music were the early 80s. Furthermore Trent was originally in a pretty boy synth pop band so how can he be the "godfather" of industrial music? The real godfather of industrial is either Bargeld or Orridge. Sorry

  • White on white translucent black capes Back on the rack Bela Lugosi's dead The bats have left the bell tower The victims have been bled Red velvet lines the black box Bela Lugosi's dead Undead undead undead The virginal brides file past his tomb Strewn with time's dead flowers Bereft in deathly bloom Alone in a darkened room The count Bela Logosi's dead Undead undead undead
  • If this performance was in DC, then I'm not surprised everyone was so stiff. I saw Gary Numan at the 9:30 club and was the only one not holding a drink and trying to be too cool for school. Me, I was hanging over the balcony railing and screaming. Which is why I now live in Lafayette, LA - you're wierd if you can't dance without spilling your drink. ;-)

  • @ElizIndRhythm I AGREE IF YOU CAN DANCE AND DRINK THEN GET THE HELL OUT! CHEERS TO YOU! I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAMETHING!

  • @ElizIndRhythm I AGREE IF YOU CAN DANCE AND DRINK THEN GET THE HELL OUT! CHEERS TO YOU! I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SOMETHING!

  • @ElizIndRhythm This was in DC, I was there in the front row, I agree most of these people suck but its also because most of these tool douches had no idea who Peter Murphy is or TV on the Radio. Granted TV was pretty new back then. Still though, and AMAZING show/performance.

  • @ElizIndRhythm also, it was the first song of the show, like before TV came out, so everyone was a bit confused.

  • awesome Pete.

  • Regardless of anything, thank you Medea four uploading this, its a real treat =)

  • @HarleyTheMad for*

  • So good...

  • Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • SO GOOD LIVE! 2 of my Favorite ppl...

  • @cephal0p0d it was undoubtedly recorded back in 06 when NIN, TVOTR and Bauhaus toured together.

  • Whoah Whoah Whaoh! Trent is NOT the godfather of Industrial Music.

  • Dude, what is up with this crowd here? I'd be like dancing around and shit, do they realize what a friggin opportunity this is!? O_O

  • @HarleyTheMad Given that this was probably at some wankfest like coachella..

  • @cephal0p0d No kidding, just happened by because they were there too see some other lame band :o Just watched 'The Hunger' last night, good stuff =) I'd be a little more like the people in the first club scene xD

  • @HarleyTheMad you can dance around all you want, i watched an unbelievable show. dance around in your bedroom.

  • @dools93 I'm not saying pick up a partner and boogie around, but I'm just saying a little more enthusiam should have been shown, I guess it just depends where a person was raised, I'm in a community where when someone like Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor are playinga show together, you make some noise and enjoy it! No offense to this crowd, if you were a part of it o.O

  • @HarleyTheMad

Well it's really hard to dance to moody gothic rock like Bauhaus, lol.

  • @BleedingOne1 Well true on that, I'd at least be swaying or something. Excited though, going to see Peter Murphy on June 15th, so if he does play Bela Lugosi's dead, you know I'll be moving around :D

  • @HarleyTheMad pretensious wankers

  • @HarleyTheMad I think they are too busy appreciating the song instead of not being able to pay attention to it because they are dancing.

  • @HarleyTheMad Yeah - what is it with this crowd...and that dude with the baseball cap on? looks like they're at the outside booth at Six Flags Over Texas or something...Are the Monkees coming on after them or something? I understand the older crowd, but this older crowd looks like they're waiting for an Elvis impersonator or something. Weird!!!

  • @HarleyTheMad As I recall, this small concert was attended by people who won a contest to be there. Not that it makes any difference, of course...maybe these people just weren't really that into them and entered the contest anyway, heh.

  • @HarleyTheMad: they're all zombies from the tube, can't feel the live, trance like and buttonless

  • @HarleyTheMad They're HYPMO-TIZED!

  • @HarleyTheMad Not a particularly dancey song, is it?

  • @burlearth You sir are not familiar with the super-fun dance that is the goth trot!

  • Can anyone tell me where this was filmed?

  • @krallstello it was in washington d.c.

  • OMG

My favorite bands are together this is so AMAZING !

  • awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • That was completely amazing. :)

    Thank you for that.

  • Frisson.

  • Industrial goes further back than Trent, yes. But the first guy to actually mix Industrial into more of a rock setting with any amount of success was Trent. Well, as far as I know, anyway. Industrial was more "pure" industrial before that time. Trent is to Industrial what Prog Rock was to acid rockers. sort of.

  • @ronnysoeberg Ministry mixed rock and industrial before NiN, and Skinny Puppy before that, at least. Probably more examples before Skinny Puppy.

  • @nathanctresch Ministry was more synthpop and house industrial than industrial rock before Land of Rape and Honey, which came out in '88. That was around the same time NIN was putting out demos for Pretty Hate Machine. They both kind of evolved at the same time. Anyway, KMFDM was mixing rock and industrial in the early/mid 80s.

  • @ronnysoeberg No. Trent is industrial rock, it has little or no relation to true Industrial. Anyone who's actually listened to true Industrial records would realize this. I love NIN and I love Throbbing Gristle, but the two have nothing to do with each other musically, even if Sleazy directed the Broken video.

  • @octagon79 Well saying it has no relation to true industrial is little out there. It is called industrial rock after all. It incorporates the industrial synthesizers and the discussion.. of true industrial is still up to debate. There has been many who said skinny puppy is not industrial and same thing for combichrist. There is a rift between the generations (8o's and 90's) when it comes to industrial genres and genres that was influence by them. I say let people think what they want

  • @ronnysoeberg That is not correct, that credit belongs to Ministry, KMFDM and Skinny Puppy

  • @ronnysoeberg hey dumbass al jurgeson of ministry the first guy to actually mix Industrial into more of a rock setting with any amount of success b 4 trent reznor and there was others b4 them do your homework

  • @ronnysoeberg who gives a fuck? genres are just that, genres.. the music is all that matters

  • @ronnysoeberg and Ministry -before Trent- didn't?

  • Undead undead undead!

  • Guitars shit..Only One DANIEL ASH!

  • Comment removed

  • am in awe of this performance

  • Industrial goes back ALOT further than Reznor or Al Jourgensen kiddoes : ) Try Caberet Voltaire, KMFDM, or even Kraftwerk

  • @tathagata40 dont forget Throbbing Gristle

  • Peter has that range and he is smoking. Epic!!!

  • The crowd's non-reaction when this tune starts sickens me. They should have gone absolutely apeshit to behold Trent and Peter making magic happen before their eyes and ears.

  • this song gives me goosebumps everytime: phenomenal!

  • Show some respect Trent!!! .... this is like Moses preaching the gospel to God!

  • you know actually... I REALLY like both these guys, but theyre singing styles dont really belong in each others songs. I like that theyre experimenting, though.

  • Damn, TV on the Radio work me over everytime. I love the tightness of the crew! Add Trent and Peter and the sound is wonderfully heady baby! Thanks for sharing;)

  • Hell Ya! Pete's smoking and belting out this tune.. awesome.

  • is it just me or does bauhaus/nin completely lose all power during the daylight.

  • Here Peter Murphy reminds me a lot of Kevin Costner in the movie 3000 miles to graceland.

  • They are wonderful!

  • Thats right, Trent Reznor got him a Oscar for scoring Social Network.

  • BEAUTIFUL VERSION

  • Awesome!

  • where was this?

  • Béla Lugosi (Lugosi Béla) is immortal

    Lugosi Béla halhatatlan

  • I can't freaking believe these two legends had performed together on stage.

NIN/Trent is my favorite of all time because of Peter Murphy. In early 90's, I was going to the famous 9:30 Club in DC to see Peter Murphy in concert but he wasn't performing the night we went. It was a very young NIN. We decided to watch their show, it was awesome and NIN has been my favorite of all time since. Several great groups have come thru the 9:30 Club but NIN owns it by far!!!

  • OMFG STUNNING, PHENOMINAL MAN AND A TRU CLASSIC SONG.

  • i like how they all sing with there souls, thous equaling soul music

  • This is my High School years in a nutshell. NIN, bauhaus, OMG!

  • @Bastgoddess7 I think I love you.

  • That crowd is like a bunch of zombies. Probably listen to government aproved stuff.

  • murphy is still one of the best... *.*

  • Great Video, Hysterical in some parts, Trent Reznor is Hot .....NOW

  • Trent grow your hair long, please.

  • u cant take reznor seriously hes too well fed, well fed, well fed,well fed,well fed,well fed,well fed,well fed,well fed,well fed,

  • i love this fucking song

  • HOLY SHIT!! ...no words but... HOLY WOW SHIT!! thank you for this!!

  • Only a true god on vocals can pwn like that while smoking. ^_^ Show him how it's done Peter <3

  • @yummykeloidmilk interesting fact, freddie mercury was a smoker as well. crazy how some people just completely break all the rules and still be fucking amazing.

  • I think Peter is the best male singer I've ever heard....that long notes, his deep voice,....however, i hate when singers smoke

  • @retinueofmoons its a catch 22, most great pop singers smoke, sinatra, joni mitchell, a long long line. i sing and smoke cigars. not many but enough that it affects my voice. and i got to admit, it adds things that i like. guys like mark lanegan have built careers around smokers voice. doesn't make it smart, but its true.

  • Great song. Great performance.

It looks like Peter Murphy wants to say "Why so serious?" to Trent Reznor.

  • Man, Luke Wilson can sing.....

  • HAHAHAHA Trents killing the song? Apparently The original singer didnt think so,, as he is a fan of N.I.N. Peters voice is amazing.. and this version is by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! better then The Bauhaus version.... and thats the bottom line.

  • @wanaply9 Which is why Trent is singing Peter's song? I don't even see how you could compare the two, they have similar genres of music, but both are entirely different artists, that just happen to enjoy collaborating. Peter Murphy has had a long career of writing, singing, and performing, in various musical genres and acts. It's absurd to say he's "just a vocalist."

  • @StevenLoos what are u talking about? This doesnt make any sense to what I said, ys Trent singing his song? Simple because Peter wanted him too. just a vocalist? Show me where I said that.

  • @wanaply9 Sorry, replied to the wrong person.

  • @wanaply9 you took the words from my mouth, couldn't agree with you more

  • @wanaply9 i wouldn't say its better than the original hard to judge but still pretty amazing i cracked up laughing watching it! ^^ I love Peter and trents music :)

  • The godfather of Gothic rock on stage with the godfather of Industrial Rock

  • @toolbass24 lol trent is not the god father of industrial rock i love trent and nin but come on.

  • @Duhbearz1 Nivek Ogre is the father, Al Jourgensen the son and Trent Reznor the holy spirit... Sascha Konietzko is God´s messenger and Marilyn Manson is a painted dopey clown who did good music in the 90´s before he turns into a fuckin emo parody of himself, ahá

  • @Hackmoune ever heard of tkk, kmfdm, skinny puppy? its impossible to trace back industrial to one point but i respect nivek. but manson is still making good music, or atleast i think so but isnt that exactly what trent said about manson? your just agreeing with trent for no godamn reason, atleast mansons doing something different every nin album has not been nearly as good since the fragile(i wonder how many dislikes im going to get for saying that) but i still love trent

  • @Duhbearz1 No dude im not just quoting Trent for no reason, im a NIN head but im fair with my judgment for example i think his last work with his wife kinda sucks & didnt like The Social Network soundtrack neither but i prefer his visionary spirit & his will for always going for the paradigms breaking over Manson´s mediocrity giving himself to the mainstream making shitty pop music & selling his ass out. EMDM & THEOL were a disappointment & the exposing of Manson´s music decay. i used to love MM

  • @Hackmoune lol im not gunna get in a youtube argument all im guna say is that manson and trent are both great and neither did not "invent" industrial but it doesnt matter because they still rock get past your ego of how your to cool for manson and i think youll like emdm or theol but untill then......... 3==D

  • @Duhbearz1 I never said they did invent the industrial genre I ALREADY KNOW THAT, and its okay with me im not gonna argue neither, all im gonna say is while trent respects his music, his fans & his art, manson is a sell´d out clown who disappointed plenty of his fans with his ludicrous change from being a musician who used his music as a sharp form of critic to social hipocricy, the fuckin sistem, religion & all that shit, to being an emo-pop boy who talks about 13 yrs old love angst

  • @Hackmoune...........like i said 3====D

  • @Duhbearz1 in other words the new "manson" is telling all his true old fans that all the metalheads from the 90´s that called him a fuckin poser were absolutely right, that´s like a spit in the fuckin face of the fans. I still like his old stuffs tho, maybe cause i like "Reverend Manson", and not that Brian Warner piece of shit that end up being a crying little boy like all those fags and whores that MTV crap sell us as role models, Manson collaborating with Lady Gaga?? what a fuckin joke...bye

  • @Hackmoune lol calm down dude if i dont like an artist i dont hate on them i just move on and i listen to what i like. Listen and let listen.

  • @toolbass24

Trent's no Godfather, but he did popularize the genre.
