  • Makes the movements so much more awesome. Alright scanner, play Fur Elise now.

  • Simply excelent!!! Best regards.

  • The scanner head goes back and says "I didn't do anything."

  • ive got to get a couple of these things, and get a whole damn orchestra going!

  • Haha i like the end :P

  • How to do this (AFAIK): 1. Get the same model. 2. Hold the "Scan" button while you're connecting the power cable to the scanner. 3. Listen (and try not to laugh). It's actually a hardware test for the servo motors. Not fake.

  • loooooooooool, i want it :D

  • I like how you slapped the lid shut at the end :-p

    5 internets

  • no... he gets...

    OVER 900000000000000000000!!!!!

  • This sounds so good! I almost wish I had an MP3 of it.

  • haha

    :P

  • God i wish my scanner did that!!!

  • i LOL'd SO hard!

  • holy crap thats funny

  • nice

  • its not fake, google for it. every HP scanner newer than 4 years can do it via a special driver command.

  • This looks fake, but who knows! Well done!

  • not fake seen it other places

  • LOL great idea!

  • all scanners do that anyway, you clearly don't know how they are constructed.

  • his video did retard

  • ok aronmosh u prove me that u built scanners

  • @Mishuku what? lol thats eather a easter egg or a self test at power up

  • @cotton509 It's a self-test easter egg to check the motor.

  • @mcliars its not a easter egg if its a test :s so its a easter egg..

  • The sound comes from either a PWM (pulse-width modulation) driven DC motor or a stepper motor.

DC and Stepper motors make those sounds due to the frequency of the pulses used to drive them.

If there are electric cars or busses in your city try listening to them pull out from a stop. They make such a whine-ish sound due to the drive circuits :-p

  • "Ow! My face!!wtf did you slap me for"XDDD!LOL

  • Yeah, hey guys how do u do that .. i to have the same scanner..

  • im not sure, but ive heared that you hold down a button and then plug it in.

  • amzing!! i didn't know Tuck andress turned itself in a Musical Scanner: Bass line, Solo voice and Backbeats...simply stunning!!

  • hey guys how do u do that

  • wtf! XD That was brilliant, though <3

  • how di you do that.

  • haha the slapping down of the cover at the end was brilliant, as if to say "well, that's all you're good for."

  • Agreed.

  • how do u make it make it do that?, i really want to kno

  • too bad the lights dont turn on, that would be brutal

  • That is sooo funny!! Especially the ending!!

    Great stuff!

  • mine plays "the Flight of the Bumble Bee" lol that would be cool though

  • If it played Flight of the Bumble Bee, it would probably burn up the motor!

  • I cant get sleep after this... Spooky... What if my HP laptop keyboard starts to sing :SSS It sings rickroll omfg!!

  • Lol off to office max to get a scanner :P

  • thats awesome, i have a video on my pc of a scanner playing fur elise and its on youtube as well, look up "HP Sanner playing Fur Elise

From: foonasty" or its in the related videos

  • now if only scanners did this for every MP3 on your computer

    life would be good..

  • das kann mein drucker auch xD

  • lmfao....i need A SCANner!

  • is that really the sound of the scanner???

  • how do you do this? special equipment/skillz, or is there a "song" option on the scanner that I never noticed before?

  • Hold down the SCAN button while the scanner is powered on. On some, like my SCSI 5P, it has to be set to SCSI ID 0. It does not need to be connected to a computer, though.

  • Yeah, that's exactly it, that scanner was just sitting there, since it didn't work anymore.

So it instead became a 10 minute novelty

  • so you did that 10 times? Because the video was only 1 minute long!

    oO

    8]

  • I sulute thee, good scanner. I'm ebaying one right now :D

  • .............I loled

  • Hahahaha, lol ^^

  • Does it still works? Or just sings? ;D

  • Still works, its an easter egg in firmware.

  • Yeah it still works, but we have so many we don't need to use it xD

    Except for singing of course...

  • Suggestion: try to create an orchestra from scanners and simmilar step-motor or solenoid based hardware :-)

  • I laughed so hard.

  • WOW :-)

  • most people have ring tones on there phones to welcome them. and music on there PCs to greet them. this guy takes it a step further and makes his scanner welcome him XD goodjob!

  • That's up there with 'FloppyMusic' on the old Amigas. Where they controlled the drive head to make noises that really shouldn't have been coming out of a disc drive!

  • One day, when humans are all dead and only our techonology lives, the aliens will find our scanners and say "My, what brilliant work of music."

  • neat

  • got to much spare time ? :D

  • How is it fake? Explain.

  • i don't think that it's a fake..

  • Nope, its a secret programme built into all scanners of this model.

  • Oo Cool!!!

    but...

    How its possible???

  • Plug and unplug the power as the scanner is reeling.

  • GREAT!!!! :)

  • You sir, know how it's *done*!

  • HAHAAHAHH YEAH

  • I finished my song! *Lid Slam's down* 0.0

  • HAHHAA

  • HAHA!

  • how do you do that?

  • it's a hidden easter egg in the scanner firmware. search google.
