  • JESUS CHRIST the narrator has such a boring monotone voice.

  • "I started my career as a toilet cleaner, so writing Dr Who was at least a step up"

Very mean sir! LOL! I love that man, Well Moore and Neil Gaiman both grew up in their own ways on Dr Who even if Moore doesn't have a love of the series like Gaiman does, Gaiman wrote that memorable episode 'The Doctor's Wife', I always imagine an Alan Moore written episode of Dr Who might have The Doctor meeting up with Alister Crowley or Harry Houdini maybe, which would be interesting in its own right; IMHO.

  • He could also play rassilon with that beard with the mixture of science and magic. Btw dr who missed out on Christopher priest of the prestige fame writing 2 scripts for the 4th who series

  • All i got from that video is that writing Dr who comics is better than cleaning toilets.

  • it can be a mature show and still be suitable for family viewing take star trek for example it is for adults but, the entire family can still watch it blakes 7 is another fine example. reading the 8th doctor who novels which was geared toward adults there were many stories that had adult content but, children still read those. doctor who has always been about change and all im saying is that it should advance and become a sci fi adventure/mystery drama that would reach a broader audience.

  • he should be the head producer of the new doctor who series.

  • @doctorw2 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON way dude. Don't get me wrong Alan Moore is THE best writer of the comic book/graphic novel medium and to see how he wud do a take on Dr Who now thats hes older and developed his style more, wud b fascinanting....having said that a) hes a great novelist and comic book writier, TV is a different ball game b) if he did apply himself 2 Dr Who like he famously has to comics he might just break the show beyond repair, as well written and spectacular as it might b 2 see

  • @227060 that assesment is incorrect, writing for tv is a lot like writing for comics the scripting and plotting is the same method now writing for big screen movies is a horse of a diffrent colour. Alan moore along with lawrence miles, P.J. hammond, and terrance dicks would bring doctor who to a whole new level of sci fi excellence and we would have some very cutting edge and experimental doctor who stories that would elevate the series out of its adolescence.

  • @doctorw2 @doctorw2 of course writing for tv and comics is different due to the different nature of the medium, tho they have similarlities. but u don't necesarrily want it out of its adolesence. there r novels, comics and audio dramas for that, have Moore work on those. it has always been a family show and if u make it grow up u mite permanatly lose that. His stories mite b gr8 but they mite not accomodate ALL viewers, eg the younger ones

  • @227060 doctor who can be a mature sci fi drama show that would be still suitable for family viewing, the problem with doctor who now is that they are gearing it to younger viewers and this makes the show not a good prospect for potential actors to play the role of the doctor. benedict cumberbatch remarked that he would he would love to play the role but, the thought of going primary schools and saying "hey im the doctor" was a complete turn off to him other actors echo his sentiments.

  • @doctorw2 Its always been a mature sci-fi show. I mean I don't think u shud b writing 4 Dr WHo Tv series unless u have properly proven urself in other fields. the sheer creativity u need 2 write a good Dr Who ep compared to most other shows, not just sci-fi ones, is incredible. Its always been a kids/family show and the role has always had similar responsibilities, going back 2 even Tom Baker, and if u r not up to that then it is gonna b a bit of a problem. Many novels + audios r V. mature

  • @227060 doctor who has not been a mature sci fi show if that was the case why has it always been called a childrens show? critics often scathe adults for watching doctor who becuase of that stigma (not that i give a toss about that becuase i love the show and i am going to watch it till i die.) what i want for doctor who is much more complex cutting edge drama stories to challenge the audience. matts doctor is brilliant but, he needs to get more serious.

  • @doctorw2 well hold on there has 2 b a compromise. It can't b mature like say BSG AND a childrens show. Its a family show with some clever ideas that can b both dark and ligtht, thats the strength of the show, it can do almost anything. Also I don't think teres a stigma these days about DW and back when there was it wasn't bcos it was 4 kids its more bcos of its 'geekyness'. My point is, its always been a childrens show, it shudn't abandon that, its been serious b4 + freq cutting edge

  • he should write for the series.

  • @ThomasJeromeNewton They did get Neil Gaiman on board for an episode - it might not be such a stretch to bring Moore along as well.

  • He looks like a homeless man who can play guitar and wrestle you to death. In an awesome way, of course.

  • His mind has been so expanded that his brain fell out.

  • @Gallifrey77203 FAIL

  • Which Doctor did his stories feature? Difficult to tell from that artwork.

  • Looks like Who #8 (played by Paul McGann in that one craptastic Fox Network made-for-TV movie).

  • No, Alan wrote for Doctor Who back in the 70's. The Fox movie came out in 96.

  • The back up stories in the old Dr. Who comic in the UK very rarely (if ever) featured the Doctor (at the time Moore was writing it was the transition between the 4th and 5th Doctors.) They featured Cybermen etc etc. or in Moore's case: Daleks and the Timelords.

  • If you film him from strange angles you can make him look very sinister.

  • @retread01 Correction: If you film him from any angle you can make him look very sinister.

  • thanks, where can the rest of this interview be found?
