youre very lucky bernese mountain dogs are very gentle giants. especially with children. i have one of my own but i would never let a young child sit on him this way.
I definitely feel for the dog. I realize your big dog is very docile, but others aren't. It would behoove you to teach your son the proper way to play with animals when he is a tad older.

In this movie, Leonardo was 2 and half y.o. now, 1year later (a lot of time for a kid, talking about growing up ) he knows that the animals are not toys or puppets. I've explained to my son that he has to respect the animals, and he has to be very careful with them, most of all if he doesn't know them. Today he pays attention and evaluates the situations, obviously and alwasy under parent's supervision.

I am thinking about get BMD but I have many kids so I am thinking long time and studing which kind of dog is good for my family .But I am sure this is the one I should get.
@momochagogo yep it's true! I've read a lot of books/articles about this dog. My "ladydog" Heva is really sweet with everybody. It (or she) comes in peace with any "form of life"... with the cats (!!), with birds, cows, ducks :) with my son and generally with kids she's also protective! it's the right choice. I would suggest to you a female.how can I say? they are special. I love all dogs, I love also those dogs that are aggressive...they are aggressive because their stupid owners!

Terrible Dog.... More like terrible kid!! He's lucky that dog didn't bite his face off after jumping on him and acting like the dog is a damn jungle gym!! You have no business owning a dog if you are gonna let your child act that way with it!
@cambria780 that dog loves that kid with every pound of his body.He would be so pissed if that kid did not use him as a jungle gym.Its not like that dog is a wimp who needs sympaty,he is enjoying every second of it.
He's just a kid...happy to play with his dog..you're not a kid anymore, your're 21 y.o., but it seems that you should also fly down and start growing up...it's time ;)
